The volunteer team is great! Breakfast each day was a good surprise. Dinner included a few nights was amazing! The atmosphere! I really recomend this hostel and would definetely go there again.
I had a small problem to deal there, and I didn't like the way the manager handled it. It's not about being right or wrong, but his atittude toward a guest.
location and price
some of the staff
I loved it so much that I decided to live here instead of finding a house. The staff is amazing, and there is always something fun to do!
Great place with all needed equipments, included breakfast, organized tours and evenings. Cannot feel lonely in that place. Very clean and fun.
No free parking.
Rachel at front desk was professional. the kitchen had pretty much everything you need to prepare a meal for yourself. It was clean.
i don't have any dislikes but i wish their fridge had a freezer.
Great place, lots of activities, free meals, interesting people, clean, good facilities, staff is solicitous, I asked to leave my luggage at other unit of the hostel and they let me do that. Definitely recommend.
Wifi was a bit unstable at the bedroom (but there were 3 networks available). There were things at the bedroom from previous guests nobody cleaned. It's near the University and Balboa Park, but far from other things.
Clean bathrooms and showers friendly and helpful staff wifi available 24/7 within walking distance of busstop
it was hard to locate bunkbeds are difficult to sleep in heavy traffic just outside the window
ITH really is an amazing experience! This was my first time at a hostel and I must say, I wouldn't have it any other way! The staff was amazing, location was great, the hostel is clean and nicely set up... Great stay, great price :) definitely recommend it.
Great place to stay and meet new friends, the staff were very welcoming and helpful
Party, kind staff. Clean kitchen..etc
The community is really friendly, they make you feel very welcome.
The dorm room i stayed in was a jungle. There were long term guests staying there who left their stuff all over the room. There was maybe 2 square feet of room for my stuff. The other rooms looked fine but that one was chaos. Bathrooms were very clean and kitchen was clean. Also free communal iPad everyone could use, that was nice.
The guests were all very well mannered and no one was rowdy. There was always a free shower to use and the kitchen had all the necessary items.
Small criticism but I wish the hostel had a freezer.
Good mood and nice people over. Place is pretty confortable and cosy.
Nothing at all
The staff was very helpful and welcoming. There were free breakfast and dinner every day, the showers were clean and so were the rooms and beds. Very good value for money. You get to meet many people from all over the world and relate to each other.
The shower heads need more water pressure.
Area, proximity to all.
Locker situation and poor wifi
The staff were amazing - plus breakfast and dinner were included - although we didn't take advantage, I thought this was a great perk!
Would definitely recommend this place to any young travellers staying in San Diego, has everything you could need and I didn't want to leave!
Really nice hostel where it's easy meeting new people. Everyone is so nice and there's always a good atmosphere. Very nice and helpfull staff. Great breakfast: every day it's different!
Hillcrest is a nice neibourhood, but it's quite far from everything: if you want to go somewhere (downtown, old town, beaches) you have to take one or two buses. You don't know till the last minute if there are goingo to held the planned activities.
If you want to meet new people, this place is suitable. The staff are friendly. I had a good time there.
As hostel is nothing, but no comparison with relaxing hotels. Big difference!
It's the only one have free drinner which I had lived in my 2weeks vacation. And the most improtant they spend a lot of time to creat different handmade breakfast and dinner everyday .
Really friendly dorm mates, excellent staff that tried to include everyone in daily activities, lots of awesome conversation, free supper 3x a week. Rooms were cleaned very thuroughly, bathrooms cleaned twice a day.
I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of my stay for the price I paid. Very clean and friendly. Decorated pretty creatively. Fun and relaxed overall atmosphere
Meg, excellent manager. Great location. Comfortable beds and mattresses enclosed in plastic- sanitary. Occasional light meals at night and light breakfasts.
Louder music piped throughout hostel public areas 12 to 16 hours/day. No regular vacuuming of dorm area carpets. Pillows were old and not sealed in protective covers.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Engaged with all guests. Planned activities were fun, good nourishing food - quiet and respectful.
Deep-cleaned the bathroom twice every day, had breakfast available and dinners on some nights, activities, and everyone was very nice and helpful!
