Score from 887 reviews Very good
personnel is very nice and the rooms are clean
couldn't open the blinds at all because everybody passing by , could see everything in the room. Also neighbours are very noisy
We were cycling down the pacific coast and found this Inn south of San Francisco. The guy at the reception was friendly and explained everything about getting to and from San Francisco with Caltrain (station about 5 minutes away). The "sports bar" within the Inn, was interesting place too.
The wi-fi was week, maybe over loaded, since in the morning it seamed to work ok. Since they have a pool they could clean it sometimes.
Good for a one night crash.
The staff was polite and helpful.
Old building, families living in building. Tile showers with slippery floors. Building needs to be updated.
It was spacious 3 double beds
Office help not available after hours in the event you needed help (toilet stuffed up). Ice machine and snack machine at other end of hotel. Required that they keep a photo copy of drivers license with ID theft prevalent found this to be uncomfortable. Office not open till 730 AM -no instructions as to where to leave key. Unable to get copy of bill since we left before 730 AM. Had to call to request copy of my bill have not received it as of 8/23/2014
When we got to the room it was so nasty and smelly. I ask for non-smoking room but it seems like it was a smoking room.. There was a stain on the carpet, AC doesn't work on all the rooms, the hallway smells like urine. Luckily, there was a vacant room next to us which is more better but the only problem was the cable is not working, and the WIFI.. So if I were you don't get fooled by the pictures you see on the Internet. We stayed there because we couldn't fine any other on the last minute. Otherwise, I would NOT stay there.....
Peaceful rest nice. Staff.
The price was great if you are looking for a place to just bed down overnight.
Wi-Fi very weak, useless. Carpet stained and dirty , Needs to be replaced. Place is run down, needs a makeover. I could have stayed at Motel 6 for the same price and the Motel 6 is much cleaner.
The location was perfect for our 6th anniversary to spend in half moon bay. The staff was curtious, and had a sm refrigerator for goodies in our room.
We like the location.
The room smells bad.
wifi didn't work in our room busy street noise
Old building & accommodations. Room are dated & needs new carpet.
Friendly guy at the reception
A bit short in parking space
Towels were nice...
This is NOT A HOTEL, but a low income residence motel. They rent out a few rooms for the night so they can keep the 'hotel' designation, I guess. There was sticky goo all over the halls and floors leading to the room. Old fashioned key, not a key card; no deadbolt; right next door to live-in residents with children; NO AC, parking was non-existent, mattresses were inner metal spring covered in plastic; bathroom floor was greasy, tub drain was rusty and upended, windows above tub were louvers and only kept in the steam, no noise barrier at all; toilet ran all night. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you're a toothless bearded hag.
Refrigerator. Lady who checked us in.
The property was old. Expensive for run-down condition of property.
Late check in was possible. They opened the cafe next door so we coold watch world championship soccer. Very friendly
-No airconditioning -Far away in the back (the regular clients probably get the nicest rooms near the pool) - No elevator - Leeking toilet (noise al night) - No one at the front desk in the evening. We needed the reception both nights around 9 PM and 10 PM but both times the reception was closed and some friends in the cafe next door were responsible for the hotel, but could not answer questions. - At 9 AM breakfast was almost gone. There were only a few cookies left.
This appears to be a "welfare" hotel which is not specified during the booking process. There were dogs and children running around, a lot of noise and shouting. It was somewhat unsettling to be in this situation whilst on holiday.
Lukewarm response of Staff. Unwilling to help and talk properly. They charged a fee just for informing a cab for my pickup.
Need to give copy of your driver license and write credit card # for their file, Driver license copies was visible at front desk = my info could be captured
When I drove up to Hillsdale Inn there were all kinds of permenant residences standing outside of their open doored rooms. Along with BBQ's and broken chairs. Didn't feel safe especially as a solo traveler. Told the clerk I didn't feel comfortable even going to look at the room and she cordially did not charge me. Looks like a overnight bus station stop with a Bar attached with shady people standing around.
Prime location. This area would make $$$ but there definitely needs upgrades or renovation. Great potential!
This was a motel. There was no handicap parking! & the door lock on the lower level was just a hinge? The carpet was filthy.
Large room, large beds, bathroom is okay. The receptionists were very helpful.
The floor was very dirty. The wi-fi connection was very poor in my first room. Then I got a new room with better internet connection.
Very easy acces to US101 10-12 mins from SFO. Friendly, helpful staff. Walking distance to shopping mall and banks. Easy walking distance to WholeFood store and choice of restaurants. Everything worked in the room. Did not have breakfast so can't comment. Bought at WholeFods and used used room coffee and machine. Good fridge!
Exterior needs a clean up and makeover.
The breakfast was not as good as the rooms. It was nearly empty around 9:30 although the buffet was open till 11.
Nice helpful front desk staff. Large room. Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker Had a clock.
Screaming neighbors with large unruly kids outside and then in room above. Closet with no hangers. No room wi-fi. No list of TV stations. Bathroom from the 1950's. Coffee maker still had coffee packet and unused coffee. Carpet looked un vacumned. Actually worriied about bed bugs. Big room and two queen beds are good for a large loud family but terrible for me. You should drop this property. I'm in a far better hotel now for the same price, only clean and quiet and only three miles away. Price of the Hillsdale Inn should be half of what I paid. Oh yes, first key I was given didn't work. I'll have to question your website in the future. Sorry, but quite bad.
