location is great and we can see a beautiful garden from our windows.
bed is too soft...
Bed too soft and we rolled into the middle. Rooster crowing at 3am. Bed poorly made. Only 2 pillows which were old and soft. Had to take shoes off at front door but rugs on stairs dirty. Only 2 parking stalks on property - if taken you have a long hike downhill to park. No coverings on bathroom window.
Sweet owner, nice room with beutifull view! And private hot tub in the room. Great place to stay when you want to see the east coast of Big Island.
It's an old family home where the owner rent out rooms. Quiet location and gorgeous views. Service is amazing and facility is clean and safe. Get the master bedroom (legacy room?) with the private patio (for morning coffee) and the private bathroom.
Great location Nice House
Standard room very sparse No breakfast facilities
Very nice staff, easy parking. The place is not super cool, but the owner is so nice that you forget the things you don't like that much...
Great location We were greeted by the owners father who was very friendly and engaging The bed was comforatable and the bathroom recently updated
If AC is a must, this facility only provides fans
Location is quite nice, new bathroom with big shower, nice garden.
Furniture rather old, owner/service not really present, every morning some (small) cockroaches in the bathroom.
The view of the bay is outstanding. Own private lanai overlooking lovely Hilltop grounds is great. Although you're in the city, you're in a very quiet environment. So slept well.
Almost no TV reception our first night. When I made the reservation we were scheduled to get free breakfasts. They changed the policy and never informed us. They did give us a great breakfast recommendation though.
Location was great
Pillows were thin
Nomen est omen - The suite on top of the hill - it is a great location within a tropical garden. Very friendly landlord.
Jade was very friendly, nice and helpful. He allowed us to stay in the room till 2 pm because my husband was sick and needed to lay down as long as possible. We had the nicest room, the Lanai room I think it is called, with a big terrace overlooking the bay. The room was big, cupboards more than enough, breakfast was ok, always enough coffee and tea. A car is needed to stay there, but the area is a lovely residential area.
Cleaning was only soso, some days I felt the bathrooms had not even been cleaned, although the towels were imoeccable clean and plenty. And I think the maid only put the blankets over the bed again, without even making the bed! Also the room needs to be vacuumcleaned every day! It was quite dusty! I know that Hilo is wellknown for the loud frog noises in the evening, and because there is a lovely big pondin the garden, noise at night was incredible! However, because it is a natural noise, it didnot bother us too much.
Size of the room and having wifi were a bit bonus. Quiet.
A bit difficult to get to but the views were great.
