Location fish pond (Koi) Aging infrastructure - reminds me of Hawaii Hotels from the 1980'S. It's time to invest in upgrades to the rooms, bathrooms, ect. Also did NOT like the beds. Have had to pay a visit to my doctor for back pain (ouch) -beds were too soft. Booked my room on BOOKING.com. Front desk staff could NOT find my reservations during a 15 minute span - backoffice personnel are supposed to punch in reservations in order for the front desk staff to see the current reservations.

The cheap price was the only thing we liked. The shower head was attached very low in the shower. I'm only 5'4 and I had to bend my knees slightly to rinse my head. My husband who is 5'10 hated it. The rooms (bedroom and bathroom) were quite small.

The central location The management went on the cheap when replacing the water heater and instead of a 50 gallon a 30 gallon was installed. This made it impossible for the second of two people to take a hot shower after the first had finished...after about two minutes the water was COLD!

I liked the room rate, the clean and comfortable room, and the Coconut Grill restaurant had a great menu, good food, and friendly, attentive wait staff. Not having a great Internet connection in my room.

Spacious rooms, nice layout and hotel environment. Staff were friendly. Nice pool area. Pool not heated, therefore too cold to swim in February. Free wifi only available in the lobby, wifi in the rooms was $9/day.

Very friendly and responsive staff, clean rooms and fresh towels, mix of both American and foreign guest, available in-house restaurant, refreshing fish pond, central location to downtown, available pool and parking, free coffee, budget-friendly rates ... no hidden charges, privacy, hotel age and character not for everyone (keep it our secret ... great place to stay) Some windows in fixed position ... did not close on windy nights, resolved by drawing curtains, no mini-bar, microwave, or local/national newsprint ... just free wireless internet service in lobby

Staff were fantastic. Good room for the price. Hotel positioned right beneath the final approach to Hilo airport, quite noisy.

This is a lovely Hawaiian family owned hotel - made to feel very welcome - comfortable - beautiful Koi pond in the front and tropical garden in the rear. All the staff sre friendly and helpful. On our last day we were given access to a hospitality room as our flight wasn't until 10:20pm - a great touch! I stayed here last year too and it was my first choice hotel when I made a return trip. Nothing
