The room was hot, and very small, also the windows were dirty. It just seemed run down. Not worth the money to stay there.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The décor in corridors and rooms was dated and shabby; there was no mini bar or explanation around that.
Facilities History Views
Too far from main drag Service was average
The charmy old building with a lot of atmosphäre......
A wonderful place to stay. Staff was very nice and the hotel was very clean. The location was great. I had a good stay.
All it excellent
location and I have always loved this hotel.
Bed was very uncomfortable, mattress needed to be replaced.
sun terrace was nice great view on the lake coffee maker everything was in alright condition but I expected a little more comfort and more modern rooms from Hilton
rooms are clean but look outdated and far from modern great view on the lake but VERY dirty windows that cannot be opened completely no wifi in rooms was very disappointing considering the rate
Loved the View of Lake MI.
The elevators were shaky and smelly. The room could have been more updated to make it feel cozy/warm. Not many television channel options.
Location was good, staff was friendly.
Grand ball room had a reception however, staying on the 5th floor woke up out sleep around 11 pm with walls and floor vibrating from the music. Instead of addressing that isue, they asked us if we wanted to upgrade and change rooms. Not fun packing up and moving after enjoying the sites all day.Other guests that were woke up was given the same option.
resturants and lounge
i was staying for total of 51 nights contenuasly (one and two rooms) and i thought i was a vip because of the number of staying nights and i am HHoner.i was despointed, i had to ask for wifi and refegarator.and of course chargable parking.see hilton was my favert hotels, but any more.
Housekeeping didn't come on our 2nd day which was compensated by a complimentary breakfast and a 50% discount which was very much appreciated.
Provide free wifi in the entire hotel. We are in 2014, and it is just like not providing clean bed sheets. It is a necessity and a standard requirement. 1. The receptionist (Kristofer) upon our arrival barely looked at us and seemed Very uninterested by our presence. We did not feel welcomed at all, and the queue which looks like an airline check-in is particularly unwelcoming. 2. Our key did not work so I came down again and the same receptionist said "call security with the phone by your room door if the key doesn't work this time. It still didn't work and there was no phone to be found which made us hate the receptionist.Thankfully, our room housekeeper was delightful and seeing we were in distress, called the security. 3. There was no minibar in our room, an empty huge cupboard was left with traces of a former appliance which never looks great.
Location was excellent. Irish pub next to it was great. Breakfast was delicious. Room was a nice size. The wired internet connection was a nice bonus (lucky I had my laptop).
No wifi signal in my room. After several phone calls to reception and the wifi provider to the hotel, I was told that because my room was far from the lifts, which is where the wifi hub is, that I wouldn't have a great connection. I actually no connection. For a Hilton hotel and for the price I paid I would at the very least expect wifi in the room. This was very disappointing. Another point, we had came back to our room to find the maid working in our room which is no problem. We left and over an hour later she was still there, sheet not changed. We then asked can we just get clean towels which she then gave us. So I've no idea what she was doing for over an hour in our room!?
Great hotel ... Beautiful and a wonderful location in Chicago. We stayed because we attended a concert at Soldier Field and it was a bit of a walk but perfect place to sleep after an awesome concert.
Long lines at check in
1. Staff. We arrived at 10 pm - one person at check in = 30 minutes wait in line. We got a room with only one bed and there were 4 of us. Another 30 minutes in line and 20 minutes discussion with this unpleasant lady. Radiculous proposal of switching rooms with other guests, putting extra beds (the room was too small even for the existing one), giving us discount or free breakfast for accepting the given room (I would have to sleep on the floor I think). Only after demanding the manager, we received a nice, refurnished room (bit dusty but at 11:30 pm you don't care anymore). 2. This was a first hotel I've been to, that charged for the luggage storage after check out!!! 2 USD per bag!!!
It's near parks and lake.
Rooms are old and small. Magnificent mile area is real down town. Which is about 2 miles from here. We recommend tourist to prefer magnificent mile area. There are so many hotels of all ranges in that area.
Having to pay for wifi. Not many cable channels available.
price does not show you parking and food was over priced.
No fridge or safes in the rooms
