The staff went out of their way to help us. Great location.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and was ideally situated within New York. I was able to easily walk to the majority of attractions and enjoy the hustle and bustle this amazing city. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone
I personally could not find fault with the hotel
Nice rooms Free coffee at the lobby Friendly staff Excellent location in Manhattan
Rooms had a weird smell Didn't had the best view of the city and paid extra for that
Affordable regarding location Loved how it was right next to the subway GREAT view (floor 30) Shower was great Luggage storage
Sheets were not changed when bed was redone for the next day
Customer service in the front desk, not kind at all and very impersonal
Every staff member very friendly!
Clean with a great view on 23rd floor
Would have liked the sleep number beds that I thought they had
Convenience to shopping, shows and restaurants.
Mattress could have been a little bit softer. Otherwise the room was perfect
Love the hotel, it's location and the respectful staff. The rooms are very modern and homey at the same time. Finding an ice machine was an unexpected challenge. The hotel info in the rooms says they are every third floor beginning with floor two. Why not print kit where they are instead. And they are inside a closet door with a motion activated dispenser that is hit or miss. Otherwise, I think this hotel is up there with some of the best.
I was in two guests rooms on two seperate floors and they both smelled like musty damp water.
friendly, walking distance to just about everything in midtown; 1 block from ESB, Macy's, etc.
older hotel, a little grungier than what I'm used to. Could use some updating. Slow elevators.
Destination is amazing. Room space is sufficient. Friendly staff.
Location..bed was so comfortable..the kerig coffee maker. The friendly staff.
I been at hotels with clean remotes good for non transfer of germs and easier to keep clean. Also with bed bugs being a problem for many hotels not yours might be a good idea to add mattress encasements to prevent sweat..other body odors from getting on them. would save on that. Also a lighted make-up mirror in the bathroom. The lighting was very dim made it hard to see to put make-up on for us females. Sell your mattress to the public loved the bed would buy one for home use. Besides these minor things always enjoying staying at Hilton Garden Inn's.
Check in was fast and efficient. Tameika was very professional and accommodating. She gave us a room on the 26th floor with a beautiful city view. Little to no nighttime street noise at that level. Personable Phil kindly stored our luggage after our early arrival until our room was ready at 3:00 pm. Hotel was very nice and really clean. The rates were very reasonable, especially since the UN General Assembly was going on during our stay, and most all of the hotel rates in Midtown skyrocketed. I felt like we got a great deal/great room on our two night stay. The hotel was centrally located to all the attractions we wanted to see. An easy walk or subway ride to every place we went. Plus the subway entrance was practically right outside the hotel's door. We ate the breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant each morning (which was great), and had fun chatting with and getting great recommendations from Patrick. Quick check-out and front desk arranged car service to take us back to LaGuardia. We really appreciated the hotel staff, the service we received was excellent. We loved everything about our visit to NY, and will definitely stay at the Hilton Garden Inn/West 35th again when we return in the future.
No dislikes, hotel was great.
Great location and staff was friendly. Internet worked from ground floor all the way to the 30th. Walking distance to Times Square or the subway is just outside the door to take the yellow line down to Battery Park area for the Statue of Liberty
$18 for a nothing special buffet?! Save yourself $10 and go around the corner to Pax's where you can get an omelette with toast for $7!
Perfect place to stay for shopping. A lot of shopping areas around and really convenient to get around.
Loved the location. So close to the subway and lots of shopping. Felt safe. Would definitely stay in this location again.
Pretty expensive - not sure it's the best value. Will probably look at other hotels in this same location next time to compare. Also, the staff (check-in & concierge) didn't seem the friendliest.
The hotel is very well located in Midtown along 35th street (a little bit away from 5th and 6th avenue traffic and noise), at 20 meters from the metro stop. Nice view of next street Empire State Building from the 30th floor. Professional staff.
Like for the other hotels in midtown, prices are wild at this time of the year: 558 dollars per night for a double room without breakfast...
Great location Clean, tidy and modern room Coffee available at reception Fresh apples available at reception Price reasonable for NY hotel
I liked the location. The hotel was right next to the subway station which made it easier for us to travel and me to get to work. The fact that the hotel provides a microwave, fridge, AND a Keurig is pretty awesome! Although not the biggest room, the room was a sufficient size compared to other hotels. So was the bathroom. When I was checking in, the Front Desk Agent was friendly but I would have hoped he had a smile on his face. :) When I called the hotel after my stay to review my folio, the Front Desk Agent, I think his name was Nick or David (two very different names, I know) was very helpful, very nice, and I could hear that he was smiling while talking to me on the phone, which was very pleasant.
I didn't like the elevators. One of the elevators were down and so only two were working. When I was trying to get out on Sunday morning, I know Sundays are when everyone checks out so I had to wait 15 minutes to catch a ride down. If I wasn't on the 17th floor, which I'm not complaining because knowing the fact that there's 31 floors, being on the midrise or high floor was awesome, I would have walked down the stairs. The elevators are very small too and the wallpaper or surrounding inside is a bit tacky and not fitting for the hotel atmosphere. I'm a Housekeeping Manager at a Starwood property so certain things catch my eye when staying at hotel rooms. For instance, there were still dried water marks on the shower door and on the bathroom mirror, and there was wet tissue inside the toilet. I thought the Room Attendant had forgotten to flush the toilet after cleaning but it was actually the toilet. After using the toilet, all the toilet paper does not seem to flush down. I was at work when we got service in the room but my girlfriend came out of the room and had asked the Room Attendant to please service the room. She didn't catch the Room Attendant's name but she just said she was an Asian lady. My girlfriend was trying to explain to her about how she would like another shower cap, but as soon as the Room Attendant walked into the room, she shut the door and started talking on the phone very loudly. Very small and insignificant things that did not affect my stay, or my girlfriend's stay, at the hotel negatively. As I have answered this question before, would I stay at this hotel again? Absolutely. Would I recommend it to others? Absolutely. Keep doing the great work!
location is excellent (35th with 6, one block away from Empire State), view is spectacular, room was small but comfortable and clean, excellent service with very helpful staff. Perfect for city trip. A little too expensive but ... this is NY.
only two functioning elevators that cannot meet the demand; sometimes I had to wait for 15 min to get down because they are called and stop every two floors.
Great location and friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful city view and very comfortable room. Bathroom excellent .
Location: 1min walk to subway and shopping area.
Expensive but so were most of hotels in NY at the time we visited.
