The rooms where up to date, clean and very comfortable. The lobby and dining area where very pleasant and comfortable.
The food at the restaurant was terrible. Dinner and breakfast were not pleasant at all. Lettuce was wilted and brown and chicken was cold and dry. Breakfast was so disappointing. Fruit was not crisp and fresh, eggs were powdered and dry, sausage and bacon cold, oatmeal was tasteless mush. They need to step up their quality of food and their presentation.
We were especially impressed by the overall quality of the hotel. The rooms are of ample size and nicely furnished. The lobby is extraordinary. There is a fireplace (gas but brightly burning) with two sides--one facing the larger area, and the other a secluded nook with a nice couch and several easy chairs. The bar is nearby and it is nice to finish the evening with a glass of wine on the far side of the fireplace (and eating the 'free' pastries they keep available). Beyond that there is easy-entrance, free parking.
The location is good for North Shore touring, but a bit dicey for going into Riverhead (one needs to go West first and then make a sudden, unmarked U-Turn, and then another quick turn just to get on the road). Also, I found the WiFi to be extremely slow. However, these are 'minor' inconveniences and more than made up by the overall quality of facilities and service.
The room was beautiful and clean...It was quiet and laid out nice...
I didn't like the location...I felt on was on the outskirts of town....And we were staying over bc we were going to a wedding in Riverhead....This hotel was 10 miles from our destination....I thought Riverhead was Riverhead...LOL!! I never thought to ask how far from hotel to wedding bc it was in same town..
1. front desk person gave us poor directions to our dinner location 2. when we got to dinner restaurant said they had no reservation - the front desk indicated they made reservation. 3 price was very high for a busy weekend but got nothing special when paying a room rate 3 times higher than a day later 4. can only make a right turn when leaving property and it is 1/2 mile before you can do a u turn
The only complaint about location is you can not go left out of the hotel to reach the town. You have to go right drive a 1/2 mile and turn around on highway. From there you have to cut through the outlet mall to get back into the main town.
The bed was comfortable. Nice room and whirlpool was nice.
The mini fridge was a bit noisy. It would turn on and off and was quite loud. It was also noisy above our room and next door.. A lot of slamming doors and hallway noise. The pillows were horrible. Flattened out as soon as you layed on them. Also, I felt the room could have used brighter light bulbs.
Breakfast, parking, personnel
The air conditioner really made far too much noise. Why does this level of hotel still these under the window air condioners?
The hotel is new and so everything is clean and updated. Our double-queen bed room was very spacious for that type of room. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast: a good combination of made-to-order food along with the usual buffet items. The hotel was sold out but it never felt that way. The parking lot is very large so that was never a problem.
We got a pretty good rate on our room by booking it thru booking.com, but even then, it was more than we should have to pay for a basic hotel room. And had we booked it directly thru the Hilton website, it would have been $50 a night more. This hotel (and this area) doesn't warrant that kind of pricing.
The desk Manager, Megan Gilmore was extremely helpful and very friendly. She seemed to very much like her job and working with people.
Location, service of the staff, facilities.
The 13.95 per person breakfast was too expensive. Most hotels give a complimentary breakfast. 28 dollars for a breakfast for two is excessive even if it is " all you can eat." Who wants to stuff themselves in the morning?
Friendly helpful staff Good food in restaurant Clean Good value
The price of the room was nearly 3 times the non holiday rate and for the small town with little traffic that it is in, it seems excessive and price gouging. The windows did not have blackout curtains in our east facing room so we were woken up with the sun rise at 5 am. The refrigerator made noises all night and the air conditioner had a dripping and vibrating sound. When I reported this to management upon check out, I was offered 2 bottled waters and some rice crispy treats for the children I had to go take care of after paying over $400 for no sleep. I will think twice about staying in another Hilton again and will never stay at this one.
good help, clean!!!,
most high end hotels have coffee, in lobby. not here also just coffee at elevator in am pricey breakfast in am
Staff was very cordial and helpful. Room was large and bed and linens were comfortable.
Not able to turn left to town. Have to go right and make u-turn down the road.
Exit from Parking lot is not convenient to locations just East of site
I liked the coffee to go available at 6 am when i walked off the elevator.
There was only white wine available for purchase. The walls are thin.
Difficult to approach from the road. No continental breakfast.
The fact that it is impossible to make a left turn towards Riverhead from this side of the road makes the location undesirable.
Hilton has no control how you get into the parking lot but it is very awkward having to drive by and turn around at the next stop light to get back to it.
I liked that they were efficient, the hotel was clean and it was convenient to where we were going.
I did not like that my credit card was charged before I got to the hotel and they were unable to tell me what I paid for my stay.
Indoor pool, rooms were nice
Resteraunt was a little pricey, no breakfast buffet.
Check-in was great. The front desk helpful every time we needed something.
That you could only turn right going out of hotel and had to travel several miles to make a U-turn to go east.
Very clean, well-furnished room.
Location is a bit awkward to get to. After you exit the LI Expressway, you have to make a U-turn to get to the hotel. Ditto when you leave the hotel if you are going to town rather than the expressway. A minor inconvenience.
Like the microwave and refrigerator. Mattress was wonderfully comfortable. Loved the tall ceilings!
The location required a round about path to be able to get to the Outlets or anywhere in Riverhead or East.
