The hotel is extremely well situated. Being about 5 minutes walk from both Central Park and 5th Avenue. It is also close to Times Square and the Subway. There is no free wifi in the bedrooms although it can be accessed without charge in the lobby. The hotel charges $3.50 per items to store luggage on your day of departure. We have travelled all over and the only other instance where we were charged for this service was on a previous visit to New York when we stayed at the Hyatt at Grand Central Station. On the final day of our stay while we were waiting for transport to jfk we were asked to leave the bar area where we were sitting as we were taking up valuable space and buying nothing! There is very little lobby seating and as were a party of 6 this was the only place available to sit.

The location is unbeatable, 5mins walk from central park for families, 5th avenue for shopping, and times square, yet still in a quiet block away from times square madness. The location is a major advantage of this otherwise average hotel Double bed rooms are a bit tight for a family with 2 toddlers, these rooms can not take a baby cot. Bathrooms quite small but new. Air a little smelly if you don't put ac always on high. No worthwhile views even till the 20s floors. Breakfast buffet is a a little bit poor, but staff is very helpful

There is no place for stay or conversation at the lobby of the hotel. Guests must be standing up or making a comsumption at the bar. That is incredible!

Location. This hotel is close to everything including small grocery markets convient for picking up unepected items. For the past few years I have used this hotel when visiting New York. In my past experiences the carpet and furniture looked fairly new. This time I got a room (even after requesting another room) where the arms of the upholsterd chair were soiled and the carpet was wet after removing spots on the rug; not a very satisfying moment when youre not used to seeing this at the Hilton, particularly when youre an Honors Rewards patron, but we kept the room.

Location-the only good things about hotel Staff- not very polite, room service menu is terrible. We stayed 7 days and only if we left tips- our room would had been cleaned. So we left them every day. Lobby bar is uncomfortable. And don't have a breakfast at the hotel -if you don't want to stay in line about 20 minutes every day. There is a very nice cafe opposite the hotel.

The rooms in the Hilton were very comfortable, the beds to die for! Cleanliness was of excellent standard. I particularly loved the fact that when you step out of bed in the mornings, there are sensors on the floor that light up! The showers in the bathroom are a great size also. Overall the room experience is excellent. The hotel lobby is like a mini train station as it is so busy, there is a constant flow of people through the hotel. It is very central, walking distance to Central Park, Times Sq, 5th avenue etc. There is a Starbucks on the Ground floor which is very handy, however, there are lots of places to eat and drink once you step outside the hotel also. The bar at the hotel is very very expensive, approx $10 a drink!

Hotel has good location to visit theater, Broadway, Central Park, Museums etc. It is the worst of the Hilton Hotels I have ever stayed. The rooms were smelly, pillows and linen stank as if these had been cellar for the past one year, and the corridor to the rooms were like arctic from over air- conditioning, As for breakfast, the waiter was trying to convince us for the wrong billing that he was right till the manager intervened. With all the claims for Hilton Membership awards, no complimentary breakfast or even a cup of coffee. There are too many hidden taxes over and above the quoted price.

I found the hotel very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel was ideally located close to Times Square and shopping areas. We were upgraded to a deluxe room as the room we were origionally smelt heavely of mould and the staff at reception changed our room without any fuss or delay which was great as we were quiet tired after our long journey from Ireland .It was great to return tot he room every day to find it so clean and tidy. The cleaners and security guard we met were very friendly . The hotel bar was expensive and not very inviting so we only had one drink there.

This hotel was in a great location at 6th and 54th. We were able to get into our room at 1pm before the advertised check in of 3pm, even on a Saturday. The only concern I had was with the hotel honouring the quoted rate. I presented my printed confirmation on check in, but did not discuss room rate. Upon receiving my receipt overnight, I noted that the rate charged was $60.00 more. The front desk staff made the correction without any problem, but it left me wondering if the hotel does it on purpose and try to get more from people if they are not as diligent about checking their bill before checking out.

İ like the location most it is very convenient for shopping central park and touristic attractions. İ did not like the crowd we had to wait for the elevators and there is no place in the lobby that you can relax and enjoy yourself with your family. Also they charged me 120USD more than the booking .com prices I figured it out when I came back home and now trying to get my money back

Great location, central to all the points necessary on a short visit: West Side, Midtown and even Union Square relatively quick cab ride. I liked the convenience of 24 hour room service, on-site Starbucks and Cafe, Shopping for necessities, great access to luggage storage, etc. basic amenities of a larger hotel. The room had a urine smell/moldy smell that maybe came from the bathroom. Room was roomy enough, but lacked fresh newer look of some of the older hotels. So did the hallways and lobby for that matter.

More or less everything. Location, staff, cleanliness and functionality of our room. Firstly, the sales people who harangued us when we arrived, trying to sell us timeshares. Travelling is tough enough with that on arrival. Secondly, not all of us like coffee and for a hotel of this standard to not have any kettles so that we could make tea in our room was unbelievable.

I thoughly enjoyed my stay. It was my first time to New York, could not have picked a better location. The room was clean, comfortable and service impeccable. I will be back and recommend the Hilton New York. A friend suggested that I look online through Bookings.com.

Location is excellent for sightseeing, shopping and nightlife around midtown. The concierge service was poor - I had the impression he didnt take me serious due my young age. It was only when I insisted on a proper advice where to go and asked for his boss that my request was handled professionally. Additionally, the room charges on the bill were not the ones as showed on my reservation. This, however, was handled quickly and professionally and I got the original rates from my reservation at booking.com.

Shop, visit with family & friends, saw the sights. Wonderful. Only negative was we were there when President Obama was in town so the traffic was perhaps even worst than expected.
