staff was really helpful.. we were celebrating my 29th bday .. they sent drinks and a card .very thoughful. place was clean location was in the middle of everything. place itself is very nice.
not much actually.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Valet staff was amazing, helped us out with getting to know the area. Recommended great places near the hotel to enjoy. Amazing overall.
Just about everything except the parking fees.
Elevator didn't work going UP to the loft (3)
It's well located
There was no cheaper parking options for guests. Hilton Bayfront which is across the street gives guests $15/day parking but Hilton Gaslamp charges $40/day I requested for a ref and I was being charged $20. You'd think that paying $500 for 3nights would merit you a refrigerator. I guess not with Hilton
5 mins from SD Convention Centre, in the middle of the historic Gaslamp Quarter and large rooms.
Housekeeping did not remove used plates right away. The front desk charged our card even though we paid for the room in cash. Charges were reversed of course but it was a huge mistake and a huge hassle to sort out.
The parking rates!! Paid 90 for 2 nites
comfortable beds complementary coffee Pool location
early check out
The location was great
No free wifi. Even though I am a member of hilton I was not an elite member so no wifi. For 250 a nite I think we should get it. I have been in lesser hotels and gotten it
The location is in the downtown if you are like that place
It is 4 stars hotel however the wifi is not free also the parking is not free too and the breakfast was very expansive for the money. They charged me 3 times what should they do, they charged two times after I left the hotel. I reported that to booking and I am still waiting for me to be back
We were moved to a larger room
small room, dirty, Hair was all over the floor and bath tub. I was so tired when I got in the shower I didn't notice it until it was too late. old furnishings, no microwave or fridge, chips scrapes, worn to the bare, lights not working, had to hold handle down on toilet until it flushed or it would not. Paying $269 plus taxes and another $40 per night to park. I payed over $2300 to stay for 7 days. I could have gone on a two week cruise for that. I am used to staying in nice hotels that are only about half the cost, We arrived at 6 am and by 10am I found a hotel across the street for a hundred a night less. I tried to change but the lady down stairs said I would still be charged for the room. That was where she gave me the larger room. I have been to a few other Hiltons this year, One in Minneapolis I thought it was the worst ever. At least it was not as expensive. I travel all over the country and other countries as well. I like to stay where I feel safe and where it is clean.
Location was great. Room was good size, quiet, and clean. Our room was warm but Housekeeping brought us fans. I am going to request fans in every hotel I stay in now.
The pool and pool area was a bit smaller than expected. Looks much larger in the pics on line. Need more umbrellas - there are only two. But it was a hot weekend so we were glad to have the pool. The air conditioning in the room was inadequate. Room was warm even though thermostat was at lowest setting.
We booked two deluxe rooms with double beds and French balconies. The rooms were of a good size (we stayed in 814 and 815) with excellent beds and the big windows that open are a nice extra. Bathrooms were fine (although as a European I will never give up my battle against the shallow bathtubs found in most US hotel rooms) and the staff were very friendly. I like the fact that (for instance compared to the other Hilton just down the street, with water views) this one is of a more human size, and you really are at the very start of the gaslight district. A good place to stay when in San Diego.
Our view over the back was not great and I assume there are similar rooms on the other side with a better one. Getting something to drink on the outside, ground-floor terrace turned out to be a bit of a challenge while we were there, but eventually we were served by a very friendly gentleman (who then disappeared again for quite a while). Overall really worth staying here though.
From the very first interaction with the men working the valet, we felt very welcome. Each person that helped us were courteous and accommodating. The room and bathroom were immaculate. The location of this hotel is perfect if you plan on spending time in the Gaslamp District; no need for a cab to go anywhere!
The only negative was the parking fee. I understand many places charge for parking but $42/per night seemed excessive, especially if you consider they only charge $15 to people who just want to park and go out downtown. As a paying guest you would think the rate might be cheaper.
Couldn't have been more convenient for the convention center and transportation options. Comfortable and enjoyable. Clean, new, quiet, friendly. Great concierge, front desk and parking service. Loved the room and bath. No ridiculous charges, either!
The toilet would not flush. For a hotel with this reputation this was unsatisfactory. Other than that all was good.
Need to update bathrooms
Location was perfect. Minutes from everything. Ballpark, food, shopping, trolley station.....
A hotel guest has to pay $41 to park overnight!!! That alone will get us to reconsider and find a hotel at the top of the gas lamp district for little or no fee next time.
Location location location
Only one mirror in an one bedroom suite that too in the bathroom. No whole length mirror. Not enough lighting in the rooms-very dark. When calling housekeeping I kept getting an answering machine. Parking rates are ridiculously high. Awful breakfast buffet with no variety whatsoever. No dressing table in one bedroom suite. No basic cotton swabs or cotton balls in bathrooms. Bathroom size and layout could be that of a Motel 6 that too in a suite.
great location- close to the trolley stop, baseball park, and bars/ restaurants. the room was very comfortable. if you have stayed at a hilton, you won't be disappointed by this one
The location was great and it was comfortable and clean.
They make you pay $41 for parking per night!! That should be included for guests since we already payed for your hotel. We parked at another structure a couple blocks away
good location 2 mins from water front and 1 min from main street of bars and restaurants . well worth going to the baseball game if on less than 5 min walk.
having to pay to park car ouch!!! $40+ a day /
Pillows and bed comfort were perfect.
No mini fridge, only 2 packs of regular coffee. NO FREE WiFi!!!
The scene from our room!
The price was on the high end. A lot going on around town that weekend so I guess that's what's to be expect it.
comfortable hotel and safe place to stay with kids.
Parking a couple block from hotel.
