Great place near gaslamp quarter
I liked how accommodating the staff is. Front desk is very nice and helpful. The location is PERFECT and rooms are nice.
I did not like the fact that room could have been a little bit cleaner when we arrived.
Mostly the location and the bed.
Wall paper dirty, dated, and peeling in places. The parking fee was way to high and we where really disappointed that a nice hotel like a Hilton wouldn't have a Jacuzzi.
Friendly laid back staff & the view
I wish the rooms had a microwave and a refrigerator.
Staff memebers are very friendly, rooms are clean and prices was good
Like the size and comfort of the room.
Overnight parking was $45 There was a charge of $12 a day for Wifi
staff was very helpful location was perfect for drinking without driving very clean
the price of the room didn't match the size (too small) The a/c wasn't working too well Make sure to ask for the FOAM pillows there wasn't a fridge in the room no robes parking fee was very high
Parking cost horrible...may not return because of that
Love the room and comfortablity
Didn't like the food and had trouble adding my friend to my reservation.
Tried To Rip Me Off Stay Was $438.00 Parking $82.00 Charge Me $523.00 On CC Card and tried Chargeing another $90 Fighting them ..
The convenience of being right in the heart of downtown and close to the Gas lamp quarters! Just walking distance, it was great! First time visit and enjoyed the outside view from our room to the civic center and palm trees!
The non availability of convenient parking. We had to park outside on the street ...parking lots are over priced!! The vending machine was all out of water and Power drinks, on the 5th floor.
Location is excellent and staff very courteous and ready to answer any question that one has. The room is comfortable enough as well.
The charges per night for the room are exuberant for a room which does not even have a small fridge and for wi fi one has to come down all the way in the lobby, sometimes in your pajamas and slippers. While it is standard in North America that breakfast is not part of the package but the rates and taxes are very high. Also keep in mind that the hotel is next to a rail track which is moderately busy.
staff was really helpful.. we were celebrating my 29th bday .. they sent drinks and a card .very thoughful. place was clean location was in the middle of everything. place itself is very nice.
not much actually.
Jordan at the front desk was awesome! Upgraded our room to the terrace lofts after learning I was proposing to my girlfriend during our stay. Also Great location in the heart of gaslamp!
King bed might need a replacement as it seemed a little aged. But overall great room.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Valet staff was amazing, helped us out with getting to know the area. Recommended great places near the hotel to enjoy. Amazing overall.
Just about everything except the parking fees.
Elevator didn't work going UP to the loft (3)
It's well located
There was no cheaper parking options for guests. Hilton Bayfront which is across the street gives guests $15/day parking but Hilton Gaslamp charges $40/day I requested for a ref and I was being charged $20. You'd think that paying $500 for 3nights would merit you a refrigerator. I guess not with Hilton
5 mins from SD Convention Centre, in the middle of the historic Gaslamp Quarter and large rooms.
Housekeeping did not remove used plates right away. The front desk charged our card even though we paid for the room in cash. Charges were reversed of course but it was a huge mistake and a huge hassle to sort out.
The parking rates!! Paid 90 for 2 nites
comfortable beds complementary coffee Pool location
early check out
The location was great
No free wifi. Even though I am a member of hilton I was not an elite member so no wifi. For 250 a nite I think we should get it. I have been in lesser hotels and gotten it
The location is in the downtown if you are like that place
It is 4 stars hotel however the wifi is not free also the parking is not free too and the breakfast was very expansive for the money. They charged me 3 times what should they do, they charged two times after I left the hotel. I reported that to booking and I am still waiting for me to be back
We were moved to a larger room
small room, dirty, Hair was all over the floor and bath tub. I was so tired when I got in the shower I didn't notice it until it was too late. old furnishings, no microwave or fridge, chips scrapes, worn to the bare, lights not working, had to hold handle down on toilet until it flushed or it would not. Paying $269 plus taxes and another $40 per night to park. I payed over $2300 to stay for 7 days. I could have gone on a two week cruise for that. I am used to staying in nice hotels that are only about half the cost, We arrived at 6 am and by 10am I found a hotel across the street for a hundred a night less. I tried to change but the lady down stairs said I would still be charged for the room. That was where she gave me the larger room. I have been to a few other Hiltons this year, One in Minneapolis I thought it was the worst ever. At least it was not as expensive. I travel all over the country and other countries as well. I like to stay where I feel safe and where it is clean.
Location was great. Room was good size, quiet, and clean. Our room was warm but Housekeeping brought us fans. I am going to request fans in every hotel I stay in now.
The pool and pool area was a bit smaller than expected. Looks much larger in the pics on line. Need more umbrellas - there are only two. But it was a hot weekend so we were glad to have the pool. The air conditioning in the room was inadequate. Room was warm even though thermostat was at lowest setting.
We booked two deluxe rooms with double beds and French balconies. The rooms were of a good size (we stayed in 814 and 815) with excellent beds and the big windows that open are a nice extra. Bathrooms were fine (although as a European I will never give up my battle against the shallow bathtubs found in most US hotel rooms) and the staff were very friendly. I like the fact that (for instance compared to the other Hilton just down the street, with water views) this one is of a more human size, and you really are at the very start of the gaslight district. A good place to stay when in San Diego.
Our view over the back was not great and I assume there are similar rooms on the other side with a better one. Getting something to drink on the outside, ground-floor terrace turned out to be a bit of a challenge while we were there, but eventually we were served by a very friendly gentleman (who then disappeared again for quite a while). Overall really worth staying here though.
