Loved having full access to the beach day and night. The room was spacious and beautiful. The water rentals were a blast. Planning to return on my next break from work.

Very dirty and unorganized
They are trying to save money on staff so when I went for breakfast around 7 it took 20 minutes to be served because the same guy was waiting tables and cooking and seating people. Next day I got back to the room at 3:45 and it had not been made up. They never made it up and I was paying over $400 a night for a room. They only brought a few more towels. Had asked for an early check I for one of my sons so he would not miss the family birthday party. I had asked a week ahead, again the day befor, the the morning of check in. They noted it, but it never happened and we were all late. They said they only had one person making up rooms for the whole building. Finally the porch light was on all night with no way to turn it off. The. They charged a 22$ resort fee per day for "free internet" and other things you could choose to buy-- felt like a total rip off.

The location, room (we were upgraded -- thank you!), water sports facilities, pool and dining were all excellent. It was the last stop for us in a 3-week California road trip, so it was perfect.
The rooms were great and so was the location. The restaurant was fantastic. Best meal in long time.
Didn't like the parking fee or the resort fee. Hate to be nikel and dimed just include in room cost.

Location was ideal for getting around. Nice ambiance with fire's by the pool area.
Did not like the fact that 3 of the 5 times we were in the pool area we met "locals" who would sneak in to use the jacuzzi's. Am I paying for "locals" to use the jaccuzi? We also had to pay $35 a day for parking, which was ok, until we heard grounds keeper tell a woman not to "worry about it" when she asked if she needed a permit. So why did I have to pay for it? Just need to be consistent when telling paying customers who spend 3 grand for a week one thing and others another. Overall just think I paid to much money for a resort and resort fees that were unnecessary.

Very expensive parking
The location and facilities. The room was very good. It was spacious and in a good position. Location of the dining facility was good - you could sit outside and watch the sunset.
The restaurant was over-priced and the service was not up to the standard I would have expected. We had a 45 minute wait for our starter (appetiser) although we were offered a free glass of wine each - the night had already been spoilt!

Rooms were smaller than expected . Being a DIAMOND , paying for parking and a facility charge was not a benefit

The grounds were very neat and the staff was wonderful.
The room smelled of mold. Though it was completely updated, and VERY clean, the overpowering smell of mildew was a bit much. There was no ventilation in the room or bathroom, so when we showered, the whole room fogged up. When I got home, all our clothes needed to be washed as they all smelled of mildew.
The Idea of having a vacation by the pool - but there was nothing i could say here that i liked
This is my first bad review - and i'm doing this to prevent other people making the same mistake. First, this hotel is old - over 50 years and although they have made some investments (most recently in 2003 I think) the place needs major work. The rooms we stayed in (we had two) were damp. I know this because a notepad in the room curled with the moisture in one night. The beds looked clean. Old carpet on the room floors. Musty smell in all the rooms and corridors. The restaurant had a very small selection considering it was the "only restaurant in the hotel". The beds around the pool where old and dirty. The pool itself looked great - but we didn't stay to check it out. First thing in the morning i booked the family into the Hyatt downtown San Diego - saved $200 and was a fantastic decision. Overall, this hotel was i'm sure fantastic 50 years ago - but it either needs to invest big time, or stop selling the idea of a luxury hotel.

everything was an extra charge, which was no explained on the booking. parking was extra, resort fee was extra, we didn't get the price we thought we were getting when we booked it for the room, so though it was a nice facility, it was overpriced for what it was.
The air condition heat function doesn't work. it is very cold........... the price is very expensive, i booked on booking.com in the morning, and i checked the price after i checked in, the price is cheaper than i booked in the morning.

Can't say there was much we really liked.. Although they did offer to mail a parcel for us on our last day.
One of the worst Hilton's we have stayed in. The room was squashy, the balcony was disgustingly dirty, The bathroom was small. The carpets were old and dirty, and it was overpriced, having to pay a massive price for parking ($34), and internet ($19)per day/night. We did complain about the cost of parking and they did offer it to us for only $17 per night. We would not choose this hotel again, Plenty more options to choose from
I liked and enjoyed the facilities in the hotel, I'm a outdoor person, and I found many of things to do over there.
I didn't like and I was really disappointed when I was ussing the gym Friday night, and one of the hotel personal came in and without asking if I wanted used the bathroom or the bathroom facilities, he locked the bathroom and left, for me, that action was really rude... that's why I decided not to stayed one more night and I move to the Hyatt, because I was there many times before and the personal is really polite, respectful and helpful.
