size of suite and room
no hair dryer for a room of the expense was a very big disappointment
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The cost of parking.
Location was perfect as was the staff and facility.
The location of the in-room microwave was extremely inconvenient. We had to squat down to the bottom of a cupboard to use and find it. Also, while the bed was very comfortable, it squeeked...a lot. Good thing we weren't a honeymoon couple! All in all, a great value, a great stay.
The hotel needs to improve its maintenance standards. Carpets should be cleaned. Faucets should be checked. The handle on mine fell off. The free access computers should be checked. All four were down when I needed to get on line. The clocks in the room should be checked for accurate time. Mine was set back an hour. This made me late for an early morning meeting. I had requested an early check in time of noon but did not get into my room until 1:30 p.m. This made me late for a meeting.
The location can't be beat if you are going to Chicago to shop and eat/drink at nice restaurants/bars.
When I arrived, they told me my room had been downgraded to a suite without a wall. I told them that this was the only reason I booked at this hotel as we were traveling with our new male foreign exchange student who happened to be the same age as our 17 year old daughter. They told me that "that's what I get for booking through a third party vendor". They promised to move us to a more appropriate room as soon as possible but didn't call me until 5PM the next day. They offered to reduce my rate by $30 per night or give us free breakfast. I suggested they do both. They ended up doing both, but they promised me they would notify me as soon as the price reduction was authorized through booking.com. I had to ask them at check out if this had happened or not. Essentially they promised me a lot and delivered only when forced to do so. The manager at check out was very apologetic and offered to buy me a coffee. I politely refused. I would have booked at the Residence Inn across the street if I knew that there was even the possibility of not getting the room type I needed.
My credit card was charged 3 ( three) different times for the room. It was resolved 72 hours later
The pool on the top floor was nice with the glass wall looking over the lake. Too bad your not allowed to take pictures as per signs posted everywhere. Bloomington IL Hilton that we stayed at a week prior was so much better and staff was friendly.
To park your car; $65.00 on top of the room cost of $300.00, plus you had to tip the attendant. Couldn't use the luggage trolley, the bellmen had to use it only, another tip required. The frig & microwave could only be used while sitting on the floor and you had to operate a switch so you wouldn't blow a fuse when using microwave. Staff had their noses so far up in the air, that if it rained they would all drown. Not helpful at all.
Room size and cleanliness
I was charged more than the booking.com price
Parking at the hotel is outrageous at $64 a day Though this is considered for family affairs, bed & breakfast is not an option on any of the rooms except the executive!! I would for other hotel options for a family trip next time
I like the staff especially one in front desk his name Nicholas he was very helpful persons
Staff was attentive and eager to help. Room and hotel was clean.
Overpriced for the size and quality of room. Many things didn't work: phones went down, wifi network kicked us off regularly, AC clicked on and off frequently, no fan in bathroom.
Room spacious, clean, neat. Resturant was great and location was center of everything.
Nice big suite, large, comfortable bed and huge bathroom. Location perfect for everything we wanted - lake front, shops, restaurants, sites.
Gym is very small and doesn't have much equipment or room to workout.
Rooms are nice and large, big living room area. Friendly staff - very helpful.
Location was great access to the magnificent mile.
Self parking was off premises and staff was not helpful with location so we decided to use valet after driving around looking for a place to park for 15 min. "Suite" was very compact. Very hard to maneuver around bed in bedroom because of the tight quarters.
The staff did try to accommodate us when they realized what an awful experience we had at your hotel
The A/C would not turn off and we needed to have an engineer come late at night to fix it. There were spiders on the curtains and walls and the room stunk like smoke. They did move us to a new room the next day and credited one half of the cost of the room and one night parking. I would rather have had a clean and working room instead of the credit.
This was our first time to Chicago and the staff couldn't have been more helpful with their suggestions. The location is excellent -- within walking distance of many sites, restaurants, and shops. Plus, the on site restaurant is excellent.
Parking was expensive
the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was comfortable and clean.
When leaving waited for my car for 45 minutes, then discovered they did not get my ticket pulled when I called for my car. They did rectify this by taking the parking charge off of my bill.
Front desk staff was exceptional.
This is a good location on the Magnificent Mile and great public transportation options to get to anywhere. The rooms were spotless and in great condition. The large rooms are nice for trips with older children. The beds can accommodate two adults or two older children.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The price to park.
The location. Best. Also this was the only basic-price room that could hold 5 people (2 adults and 3 teens) in all of Chicago!
The elevator was terrible and then when we took the stairs, the signage led us to an alarmed emergency exit. THey really need to fix that!
