Such a unique atmosphere with the nicest, accommodating staff around. If you want to get away from boring chain hotels, this is the place for you. I will never stay anywhere else in Lincoln City again!
We loved the eclectic decor. I chose this hotel over the ocean views because of its uniqueness. I liked the suite option and the decor. The movie rental was fun along with the popcorn and dog treats. And, the outdoor walk behind the hotel was fun. The bed was comfortable with a memory foam top. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was wonderful! Overall, I enjoyed our stay here.
I didn't like having to figure out the coffee grinder and grind our coffee beans to make coffee. We needed a measuring device to make the perfect cup of coffee. Also, the bathroom was very tight for a larger person. We were surprised to find out there was no cable TV and only DVD movies. We would prefer the DVD players to have a rewind option so you could pick up from when you stopped the movie.
The eclectic and artsy decor is entertaining. One could spend days trying to take it all in. The young couple managing the inn are very pleasant. We received a room upgrade without requesting.
Not your cookie cutter chain hotel! Very charming and filled with endless "sea" folk art, trinkets, pictures, posters and just generally fun "stuff!" The included breakfast was made to order and delicious. We had a 3 room suite in the main part of the motel and it was anything but ordinary. So charming! The complementary cookies and popcorn. We're great, too. Highly recommended if you want a motel that is unique.
I loved everything!
Loved the ambiance here! Nothing quite like it!
Great location, great food, wonderful staff and fun place to stay
Very helpful and friendly staff Great breakfast Funky decor
Staff, food, room, bed, grounds, decor. Personal touches, charm, lovingly put together.
NOTHING AT ALL
I loved this place! It had so much character. It was like being in someone's home. Antiques and collectables everywhere. Wonderful staff. Coffee beans in the room for fresh coffee in the morning. They feed you cookies, muffins, popcorn at night and breakfast in the morning.
We loved the character of this family run place -- the things to look at just seem to go on and on. If you love the feel of an old beach house with curiosities and antiques, you won't find anything better. Our room was clean and unique and the staff was very nice and helpful.
Very comfortable beds, coffee beans and grinder in room, copious cooked-to-order breakfasts as good as any in town, welcoming to dogs, antiques and quirky decorations, cars parked to the side so rooms open to an attractive courtyard, free DVD's, popcorn and butter, cupcakes or cookies, hundreds of books, pool room, gift shop and art gallery. Main lodge offers a bar, full kitchen, big TV and lounges, and card room, outdoor patio and deck.
The vintage armchairs weren't very comfortable and stowing belongings wasn't easy in our cabin (bungalow) room.
It's character, very interesting and nicely decorated. Room was spacious, with fitted kitchenette (fridge, sink, microwave, but no possibility to cook trough). Fresh coffee in grains which was also very good.
Breakfast was starting at 8:30 am, too late for us, so we couldn't wait for it. We were given something to eat, but for sure not worth the value of the real breakfast. Position quite away from the centre. Lincoln City is a town 7 miles long and this hotel is quite at the end of this way. There are a few restaurants at a walking distance, but if you want to have good fish the nearest restaurant is at 3 miles and, if you don't have a car, taxi service cost usd 20 each way (don't take the happy car service!!!! We had to wait for the taxi more than an hour at 10pm outside the restaurant in the cold!!!).
I loved the quirkiness (tons of nautical-theme antiques), popcorn, new release movies to borrow, excellent fresh cookies in the afternoon, stroll to the beach, grind-your-own coffee beans in the morning, and excellent breakfast. Oh, and the guest soaps were great. The owners were wonderful.
My husband thought the room was cramped, and there was no network TV, so he couldn't watch the Golf Channel. (Too bad - HA!) There was a new toilet in our room, but it didn't want to flush. Coffee at breakfast was very weak.
the decor! clean! great food! great service! dvds! popcorn! Awesome!!!!
There was not one single thing to complain about! Beautiful and awesome place and people!
Staff is very welcoming and does a great job of spoiling you. The Inn is wonderfully decorated and lots of fun to explore. We loved our stay and this was a great way to start our vacation. Can't say enough about how great the staff is and how yummy the breakfast is.
The bathroom facilities could be a little more modern, but this would not deter me from staying here again.
The breakfast was great and the decorating of the place is fantastic. It is very interesting to look at all the unique items found all over the Anchor Inn. The bedroom had stars painted on the ceiling. The location is right in the center of all the places to go in Lincoln City. It's a couple of blocks to the beach and we were able to go several times. There was ample parking for the guess but it did fill up.
The shower is a little small for my taste and the bathroom in general is small. It is just one of the things you have to put up with in an older place, on the plus side it had a nice small living room that was separate from the bed room.
The decor is total kitch and total fun. Everywhere you look, in your room, in the bar, the breakfast room, you'll see nautical themed vintage collectibles decorating walls, ceilings. Then there's the staff--friendly, helpful and welcoming. If you are in Lincoln City, you are missing the opportunity for a great memory if you don't stay here.
We loved the quirkiness of the Inn, the wonderful hospitality of Kip, the owner, the delicious breakfast, the close proximity to the ocean.
The quality of light in the rooms made it difficult to read
Not much. The breakfast was generous. One of us had been ill and on arrival asked the guy on reception for some water - he told us to go to the pub down the road.
Although it is well described on the internet, we were not prepared for all the bric a brac about the place. The facilities were poor. The bathroom could not be described as such. Rules such as removing your shoes at night etc seemed unusual. Bed linen didn't look laundered. So litle room in the place, that by the time two suitcases were in there was nowhere for us to sit.
Much of it is like a museum and you want to walk quietly and not touch anything, but the facilities are amazing. I had a sitting room that was almost a step back in time with a 1940s style overstuffed sofa. Comfortable bed, slept very well and had a delicious breakfast in the morning. Would most definitely enjoy another stay.
We loved the welcoming fresh cupcakes, freshly made popcorn with an urn of warm melted butter on arrival. In our room there was fresh coffee beans to grind which made a beautiful cup of coffee. Our host even brought us half & half to store in our fridge. Much appreciated. The substantial breakfast was a pulled pork enchalladas, fried potatoes, salsa, cantaloupe, asparagus, tea and orange juice! That kept us going for a good chunk of the day! Very interesting place and welcoming staff/owners. Would definitely stay there again. Much nicer than the corporate chain hotels.
Nothing negative to say!
The hotel was filled with antiques & the walls were covered with old paintings, maps, and historical paraphanalia. There was a game room, sitting rooms, & a popcorn machine. I also liked Kips fish tacos for breakfast.
The tv didn't work but we were still able to watch a video. The bathroom had little counter space & no electrical outlets.
So cool and funky! Loved the décor and our room was gorgeous, a suite. Very comfortable furniture and bed. Super-delish breakfast included and very sensitive to my food allergies. Short walk to the beach.
very friendly and superefficient staff, they served breakfast to a huge crowd quickly, with a smile, and kept coffee flowing
parking is inconvenient, esp. for handicapped
The feeling of being at a secret getaway. The great breakfast. Best omelet I have ever had. And I've had many. Staff so over the top to help you with the smallest need. The great comfort and quaint way it is laid out and the beautiful decor all around you.
