Staff fantastic--loved Ann! Enjoyed play room.
Requested king or queen bed received standard. Wondered why rooms not cleaned daily??
the facility was just beautiful.
Find out if the restaurant /lounge is closed because a wedding party has taken over the facility. Find out if you have access to the pool/hot tub. Find out if your room overlooks the parking lot where party-goers can make noise. We were looking to relax - came home tired from lack of sleep. There are better places for $200 per night!
The staff members are friendly, and we were pretty comfortable here.
Outdated rooms, and walls too thin. There is no housekeeping service.
The location of the hotel is excellent. The staff is very knowledgable and accommodating. The beds are very comfortable and the linens are nice.
The renovation of the bathroom was not very good: framing below bathtub was not solid (creaky), lavatory was set below minimum height, toilet was very loud and took a long time to refill tank when flushed.
The food was good. The lobby area was inviting and comfortable.
The room needed blackout curtains. Housekeeping should come without making the guests call for it. I don't want to make my own bed when I'm on vacation.
Lack of breakfast , ugly cramped room, noisy parking lot, bear in the garbage with groups of onlookers at midnight. Poor value
Location is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. Nice pool
The staff was just awesome. The lodge was clean and neat. The view was great and the pool area for the kids was awesome.I look forward to staying here again in the future.
I know not having AC isn't usually a problem in Estes Park. However the humidity was up one night, and windows had to remain open. The noise from the parking lot below was bothersome at 1:00 am. (Not really a hotel problem as much as a people not knowing how to act problem.) Also, a TV in the bedroom wouldn't be a bad idea.
Pool, main lodge.
Unfortunately our room was so small it was a joke! It was listed as a one room suite for 4 people . That is an absolute lie ! Two people tops! We had us and 3 kids! Had to remove furniture from room to get luggage in! No cleaning service ( which is fine I guess because it would have been impossible to clean that closet we where in much less get in) room next door stayed a mess ( no maids) for the 2 nights we where there.
It was clean and, in a good location.
The hotel advertised and entirely led us to believe we would be staying in the lodge itself. Upon arrival we were informed we would be staying in the "annex" building. Basically a drive up style motel that was near the real lodge.
We liked everything about it except our room. It was tiny.
I loved the staff especially Ann and the GM. Very pleasant and helpful. I loved the view and beauty all around. The deer came right up to the building and were gorgeous. Great coffee and tea. Loved roasting the marshmallows for smores. Rooms had nice extras like the clothes washing soap. Laundry facilities were superb. There was a wonderful warmth about the building. We enjoyed our stay a LOT.
The shower heads were difficult to adjust so they didn't hurt when hitting the skin. When adjusted down you would loose warmth.
I love the fact that everything looked authentic and original to the age of the building. Liked that the public spaces were so open and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and accommodating.
It got a little warm in our room.
Great historic hotel with a great staff and location
Everything was beyond my expectations. Well done!
Awsome place. Cosy, homey. Nice view. Loved it! Paid $80+tax/night in beginning of March. Have been 2 weeks in Colorado and it's the first time I felt like taking a bath in my hotelroom. Clean. Will definately stay here if I come back.
Not much. Shower was a bit tricky to get the right temperature. Can imagine the rooms get hot in summer. Make sure you have good tires on your car in winter. Steep hill.
staff was excellent...as were the accomodations
rooms outside of lodge
The keys, location, layout of room, customer service
Great location, price, and my room was ideal.
location, lodge itself, view
excessive heating due to boiler system employed. Shower was not easily adjusted causing either cold or scalding
Ann at the front desk was the most polite employee ever !!!! Beautiful location over looking Estes Park.
We neither smoke or have pets and the topic was gone over twice. However, nothing was said about getting ahold of someone after say 10:00pm if a problem was to arise...which it did !!!
Good location and a nice place to stay.
The temperature in our room was 85 degrees when we checked in and it took about 2 hours to get it cooled down by opening the windows. The thermostat was set by the previous occupant or housekeeping to over 80 degrees. What a waste of energy.
