We choose this hotel on short notice and I think we made a good choice. Of course we didn't want to spend a lot of money so, we were definitely looking for a good priced hotel. The Inn was very reasonable and lucky they had rooms available. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The room was large with a nice king size bed, Flat screen Tv, and safe. They have a nice clean pool and a courtyard you can sit and read your book or just talked. My husband and I enjoyed that a lot. It was quite. The breakfast was very nice also. Waffles, bagels, and orange juice. I checked for bed bugs because you can never be to careful when visiting a hotel and I found none. Thank god. I would return to this hotel if I ever have to stay away from home again.
The ceiling is low. I'm pretty tall so I guess most people wouldn't really mind.
Everything! Surfaces were sticky, filthy and stained carpet and chairs, I had to saftey pin the curtains together for privacy. The floor lamp was placed in a location that didn't have a electrical outlet. We had to move it ourselves to have light. The personal made me wait at the desk while she had her cigarette. She watched me watch her the whole time. Personal wasn't at the desk, much. No coffee pot (as advertised) in the room. No Kleenex in the dispenser. Guess what else didn't work? The phone! Every time we needed what was SOPOSSED to be in our room, I had to go downstairs and wait at the desk to ask for it. I would have rather camped in a tent (and I'm well over the age, that it would be terribly uncomfortable) but it would have been better than this DUMP!
Out of coffee at breakfast. Food cold and not refilled when gone. Front desk staff was hard to find many times.
I booked my room nearly a month in advance and was told at 5:00 on the day of arrival that my reservation would not be honored. Was left hanging with no where to stay and ended up in a room almost 20 miles from where I needed to be. Caused massive stress on the weekend of my son's wedding.
The nice staff...wish I could remember her name. She was wonderful!
Everything was horrible. The bed was dirty as well as every inch in this so called 6 out of 10 star hotel. Took pics of everything especially baby cockroaches crawling which my 7 yr old son found while looking for the bible...by far worst experience ever.
The staff were kind and willing to help when possible. They seem to be making an effort to maintain the place but it is old and really needs an upgrade. The best thing was the new TV but I was just there to sleep after work.
I was unhappy from the moment I arrived and very disappointed. They did not have the room I booked. I had booked two beds, they only had king, which was unfortunate because I was to be joined by another person with whom I do not share a bed. This hotel is in a downtown area which is very dark and frequented by the homeless at night. They have parking areas on both sides of the street. The one across the street was apparently also used as a dump for there was a great deal of trash using up some spaces and no lighting at all. The elevator was dilapidated, the carpets needed cleaning, as did the chair in my room which was covered with stains. It would not surprise me if the furnishings and furniture were not all original. That's where the 'historic charm' comes in, but the curtains had holes, the bedspread had cigarette burns and doors were missing from the dresser. There were no drawers in the room. The little refrigerator, microwave and a safe were in the dresser. The 'hot breakfast served until 10' is a bit deceiving. 'Not cleared until 10' would be more accurate for they do not restock it after 9 and this is when you learn that many subsidized residents take full advantage of the breakfast. I did not stay the 2 weeks I had booked. I found other accommodation which served my friend and I much better.
Great service , friendly ,respect
not much..the morning coffee was good The front people were nice.
it smelled...the carpet was filthy...the tile looked gritty. the windows didn't open and one was cracked the free breakfast was gone by 6am so we missed it. the area outside was slum..Attorneys, bailbondmen, etc. Gangs were walking around in groups.I worried about out car
Staff was nice and there were elevators which is rare for an old building. Breakfast was good. Beds were clean and comfortable.
There was dog poop under an ottoman in our room and killed three cockroaches. Reported it to manager and this was supposedly a surprise to him. There was no bath tub only a shower which is hard with 4 young kids.
AC WAS NO WORKING
Fridge, pool, breakfast, staff was really friendly, free wifi and parking. Close to highway, really comfortable to stop by from Vegas to San Francisco. Stores, restaurants are close.
The area is a little bit scary, a lot of black people outside in the evening, loud music, a lot of cars, police-cars were driving around all the time. Didn't want to touch curdins (because of dirty) and bedspread had smoke trail, even tho it had to be smoke-free place. Also room didn't smell fresh even tho they had signs everywhere they have so fresh rooms.
Everything was great.
Location is clsoe to DT Bakersfield
Staff was rude and inattentive. Rooms could def use cleaning - I found a decomposing cheeseburger in the fridge. Breakfast area was picked clean and nothing was restocked. Overall, would not stay there again.
I seemed that it was a pimp and his prostitutes running the motel alot of traffic all hours of the night alot of illegal activity going on there don't feel safe
Love the feel of an old timey hotel, almost like the shining movie.. Just a ill different then anything in town. Good views from room at night.. Almost like your nit in Bakersfield.
After dark can be a ill rough.. Ice situation sux.. If it's hot over 100dg AC really not the best. And the live in residents are a bit eccentric, but that's what makes it diff and kinda cool..
Most of it
One fay we foud our bath room dirty.
The location is perfect for bar hopping downtown.
It could be a little cleaner and the air conditioning may need maintenance
Nothing Unsecure Dirty ...
I loved the location, staff were really nice and pleasant
children running around unattended, carpet was disgusting, the price was too high, seemed like a lot of loitering outside the hotel
The front desk person was nice and the room was clean.
The room was way too hot due to the ancient air conditioner with one vent at the top of the wall. there was no thermostat, just a button for low, medium, and high. I had to sleep sideways at the foot of the bed to feel any air and ended up sweating all night. The mattress was so hard I might as well have been sleeping on a box spring. I wasn't able to take a shower due to there not being any way to turn it on. The faucet to the bath worked but no knob or lever to pull to switch to shower. It is what it is, you get what you pay for. Oh and the WiFi sucks.
The ease of checking in and the comfort of no disturbances during my stay, it is clean and everybody is friendly.
I like the front desk, staff, young lady was very nice and understandind, great help.
The area was not suitable for children, there were a lot of people who smoked, it was obvious that they use drugs too. I asked for two queen beds in the reservation but only got one bed, sheets were dirty, room smelled like smoke, the whole hotel smell like smoke, even though at time of check in they say you need to smoke outside, clearly that was not happening, I had to leave because my son had asthma and couldn't breath that unhealthy air, it was real bad, also hotel is in a bad location, in front ir across tge street from the jail facility. Needs an upgrade, needs to be more clean and needs to have less people smoking in the rooms. I left to another hotel, told the young lady I couldn't stay in the hotel, she was very nice and helpful.
These place have a false advertising
Unsecurity Dirtyness Noise Oldyness
Staff was friendly and caring. The building is classic and holds potential.
The furnishings and light fixtures were a bit worn, but structurally; holds so much potential! The huge windows and quiet rooms are a positive..
