The location was great. Close to the Salt Palace and many eateries. Reasonably priced. Transportation from the airport and complimentary breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful.
There is traffic noise particularly on the weekend nights. Airport shuttle didn't start until 8:00 am.
-free shuttle from airport -breakfast--yummy -room was clean, and lights on when we got home in the evening -free wifi -quiet room -hard working staff; girls were friendly
-neighbors in the shower at 3:00 a.m.
The hotel is in the poorer part of slc. Homeless and panhandlers are everywhere. The train kept us up all night.
Good location if you want to be in the city centre.Wifi excellent if you have windows 8,but this is true of all hotels in USA.Swimming pool outside.Parking no problem
Shabby hotel in need of renovation. No fridge..
Location, free wifi, value for money
Breakfast dining room area is very small and crowdy.choise of breakfast is poor.
great location, close proximity to downtown and attractions. bed and pillows were comfy
lineups at check in and check out
The location was good. Front office staff was nice. Pool was warm.the price we paid was good.
Place is a little dated. Towels were kinda small but did the job. The breakfast could use a few more selections like fruit or flavored creamers for coffee. They will be changing the name of the hotel/motel soon. Hopefully they will also upgrade the place
not to much
the ad on-line for the motel was not at all what was there, very un happy, the breakfast was not very good, not to much to choose from.
We liked it because there was not a single thing we could think of or needed and could not find Location was great, we walked to the center, staff was helpful and friendly, breakfast was great, room was very clean and bed very comfortable
Breakfast should have a bit more options and they did not have cream or milk for coffee
Front desk staff very rude, completely ignored me and talked to someone he knew who walked in while I was waiting, slammed forms down on the desk. The hotel was clean but extremely dated and ugly, location was good. Old CRT TV, WiFi pretty bad. Honestly you get what you pay for, I would prefer to spend an extra 20 a night for friendly staff and more modern amenities.
next to where you could get something to eat have a good breakfast
no bathtub in the room bed was hard as a rock
The lobby smelled of natural gas. The hallway to the room smelled like deodorizer pet urine. The decor and rooms are very outdated and smelled stale. The pool is 1/4 the size shown in the pictures. As a result, we immediately cancelled our reservation and went to another hotel. A sign in the lobby shows it will no longer be affiliated with HJ hotels as of Jan 2015. We would never recommend this hotel.
decent hotel with excellent location!
the breakfast was typically American bad! Nothing healthy!
price was average, location was close to freeway
The room smelled and the bathroom was not clean. There was dirt on light switch and bathtub
price, good air conditioning unit location is very good
The continental breakfast was poor. It seems like the hotel needs a renovations since it feels a bit old.
Price was good and it was easy to find. Front desk was polite and helpful.
With the Howard Johnson name I was expecting higher overall quality and experience. The sign at the desk indicates they are removing the Howard Johnson name soon. It was not nearly as nice as the name indicated.
The beds were very comfortable, pillows soft, and the sheets were on the new side. There was a large desk space. The sink area was outside of the toilet/shower and partitioned off from the beds. You could open the window in second floor room. They had a nice guest laundry available, wash $2.00.
The stall shower was very small and the AC was cold but loud. The TV cabinet was too big for the room. The pool was small and a bit murky. Rear parking lot was sketchy, better to park in center area.
Nothing to be mentionned
Bed was comfortable air conditioning worked well.
No fridge or microwave. Lumpy carpet padding underneath worn out or something. You could feel high spots with feet. Could end up tripping a elderly person.
It was within walking distance of 2 shopping malls, the Salt Palace Convention Centre, and restaurants. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
price, good air conditioning unit
disjointedness of layout, old decor, needs remodel, bathroom too small, not very much hot water
