Room was large with fireplace. Best shower we have experienced in a hotel. Pet friendly. Manager upgraded us upon arrival & solved a minor problem immediately. Easy walking distance to Ocean Ave. loved our stay
Helpful staff. Supergood location. Beautiful view of the sea from 2:nd floor. The poolarea looked nice but we didn´t try it out since it was too cold. 5 people in december 2014
They served pastry for breakfast! Not my cup of the....but the coffee was good! Not very cosy but good value for money
I hate it when housekeeping starts knocking at my door at 10 o'clock. Hey, this is my day off and I don't want anyone to disturb my sleep. After all, you guys know I'm going to check out in 2 hours and you will have the opportunity to prepare the room for your next guest, then why spoil my morning mood?
Susan, running the front desk was very helpful and nice.
Could here people walking in the floor above and on the stairs near our room.
Shortly before check in, we found that our adult son would be joining us and asked the desk staff if that would be possible. The staff person was extremely kind and helpful and placed us in a lovely, comfortable, 4-person suite with a bedroom, living room/kitchen area, two bathrooms, a fireplace and a deck overlooking the ocean at no extra charge! Granted, it was likely a slow weekend, but she could have placed us in a small room with a cot. Instead, she did everything possible to make our stay entirely enjoyable--and it was! Beds were comfortable, room heat worked extremely well, cleanliness was impeccable, room decor was charming. The complimentary breakfast consisted of coffee/tea, pastries, yogurt and fruit and one could choose to take breakfast on a tray to one's room or sit in the lobby by the fireplace and, as happened in our case, converse with interesting other guests. Parking was ample and great restaurants (suggestions were given by the hotel staff) were within easy walking distance. We had a delicious dinner at the Yafa restaurant a few blocks away. We would highly recommended this lovely hotel and would return should we be in the area again.
No complaints at all.
Love the cleanlines. Has a fireplace that actually works!!...Customer services is excellent. I always stay at 5 star hotels only and it was last minute so I couldn't find one and I picked this hotel. I'm so happy I did. This is so much better than any hotel I have stayed at.
Spacious bathroom and comfortable bed.
Thin walls, could hear conversations and snoring next door.
Free Breakfast was a plus The staff was very friendly Great location, close to downtown shops and places to eat and drink
The bed was not so comfy and did not seem so clean
The bed and linens were clean and comfortable. Fabulous location. Well worth staying there despite the minor inconviences
The bed spread and matching bolsters smelled sour and need cleaning. No elevator Walls were a little thin so that the immediate neighbors could be heard
The rooms were very dated.
Huge room with great beds, very helpful staff, location a little far, the only problem was regulating the heat. The thermostat did not work properly. Would stay there again Lynn from Texas
Room wasn't clean. We found empty bottle behind the bed. Was cold and very noisy Breakfast was fair.
Location The room was clean enough The staff is good We had nice ocean view from our room The cookies in the lobby are nice, we used those a lot!
The room pictures had a fireplace but when we fully unpacked we realized that our room (Exclusive double queen room or something like that) does not have one. The staff kindly suggested that we move to another room that does have the fireplace but we figured it would be too much of a hassle to move now. I should have been more attentive in the first place and it would be good if the room description would explicitly said that the fireplace is not available in all rooms. The WiFi was really poor. At about 8 PM it was not possible to get any connection going. When I called to staff, they suggested that I move out of the room to get the connection, but the problem was not connection, the problem is bandwidth I think. The breakfast could be meatier. For $170 a night I expected having eggs or bacon or something like that. The sauna was too coldish.
Large rooms with full kitchen for reasonable price.
Bedding (frames, pillows) could be better.TV 4:3 picture on 16:9 monitor is distorted wide - easy to fix but nobody bothered.
Location central , beach easy walk and breakfast outstanding. What an excellent idea to be able to collect breakfast and coffee and be able to sit outside your room and admire the view. Loved Carmel
We just had the one night to spend in Carmel. Horses House was a great location near the town centre at a great price. Clean, comfortable bed, spacious and everything we needed all at a good price.
It was pet Friendly and the staff is very nice.
The rooms are not that great. Very dated. Especially for the price. Breakfast is ok if you are not very hungry. Dresser in room the drawers where warped and had to struggle to open Bath room was not great for getting ready because of the lights and mirrors.
Accommodation in Carmel is expensive. This is a very nice hotel at a very reasonable cost.
The property is on many levels. There are no elevators. This was not a problem for us, but might be an important consideration for some people.
Nice location within a nice walking distance to main street of town, Ocean Ave. Nice view from window. Convenient to have kitchen items available. Pastries were fresh in the morning. Shower was good.
TV was a bit small.
A large room with great facilities in kitchen area. Very helpful staff happy to provide a takeaway breakfast as we had an early start.
The walls were very thin between each room and no insulation as made of wood. and so we were woken early by footsteps up and down outside the room in corridor.
Nice view from the top floor
3-story hotel with no elevator. Walls & floors thin, noisy. Furnishings old & worn. Long walk to downtown.
upgraded to a unit with "kitchenette" husband liked the dry sauna has adjustable silent heater limited ocean view balcony and lots of windows
noisy all day and all night thin walls, screaming baby next to us and lots of kids running around above us on a truck route furnishings and carpet really ugly no elevator and lots of funky stairs no help w/bags
it was a lovely place to stay apart from the fact it rained but as it was the first time it had rained for 3 years, we look on this as unfortunate timing!
The breakfast was poor
Good service from staff. Nice heated pool.
Breakfast, no bread just croissant.
