Location was good, close enough to walk to places, lots of restauarants closeby. Breakfast was good and included in my rate
26 April 2015
Very clean and luxurious. Facilities and location were great - not as close to the water as others downtown but closer to the fun parts of town on King street with restaurants/ bars/ nightlife. Highly recommended.
21 April 2015
Just the 3 drunks who wandered into the hotel bar, but the bartender - a young lady - deftly managed them until they left. Something should be done about the Valet parking which is done on a side street without cover.
The staff, across the board was excellent: friendly and very helpful, responding positively to every request. The room and bath were a nice size and well equipped. Accessing WiFi was a simple process.
17 April 2015
The bathroom and entryway floor to our room was not particularly clean when we checked in. There was a sticky spot by the bathroom door. Still not gone on day two. Was fixed after we told the front desk. Our room had a balcony which would have been nice but right now faces into an empty lot under construction.
The general location was good. It encouraged us to walk into the central part of historic district. Hotel new and updated. Breakfast was convenient with a decent amount of choices. Front desk staff friendly and helpful.

Had never been there before, no knowledge of the area. Parking was a little confusing but we figured it out. Also valet only parking was an unexpected expense.
5 April 2015
The view of construction stunk. I know you cant help that but to pay almost 700 dollars for two whopping nights and look at a pile of dirt. Really? The rooms were nice but we had teenagers in the room across the hall. I mean come on. See you who your putting beside each other.
Loved the good hairdryers. The Beds were super comfortable. The Staff downstairs and the valet guys were all super kind and friendly.Very professional. Breakfast was awesome.

Very clean, quiet and comfortable room. Helpful front desk took the time to help us with directions and to plan our day. Highlight of each day was the delicious buffet breakfast, particularly the made-to-order omelettes prepared by Jerome and James, who were also very hospitable. About a 20+ minute walk to the Battery or the Market, but conveniently located on the free shuttle route. Would definitely return!

Not real impressed with the restaurant in the hotel. Didn't care for the trolly.... much to noisy.
Our car was so easy to get any time we need it. The city is wonderful. Easy to drive around. Loved the market and the restaurants in town. Loved the horse and carriage ride. Most informative.
28 March 2015
shower curtain had mold on bottom edge, and cleaning person left hair in tub and on the floor.(unacceptable...and this is a newer hotel.) breakfast is priced too high..ie...no value here. at your rates, breakfast should be included with the price of the room!
staff was excellent, as was the location. facilities were very good.
23 March 2015
The prices were a little high for a holiday Inn. Prices increased every day. accustom to this on the weekend but not usual practice during the week. they had no good explanation as to why there was a daily increase.
15 March 2015
Loation. Not the best neighborhood and too far from historic area
Customer service as we had to cancel our last night due to a family issue was excellent! Manager extremely helpful
14 March 2015
Location not great for the price
8 March 2015
Other than a desk chair the room only had 1 uncomfortable chair. A love seat would have been great.
Balcony room, quiet, great shower
24 February 2015
Cost of the room and added parking fee.
Wonderful staff. Clean room. Walking distance to everything we wanted to visit.
21 February 2015
Restaurant facility definitely lacking. Had dinner from a very limited menu with inattentive servers present. Either they decide to have dinners or exit that portion of the business. Food was very good, once served.
Relative to other nearby hotels this one represented a decent value for the money. Newer facility with large, bright, well laid out rooms.
15 February 2015
Very noisy both inside hotel and on street at early hours. Trucks backing up to empty trash at 4:30AM? Hotel employees in the hall making noise with cleaning tools
Clean and within walking distance to center city
3 February 2015
If you are looking to stay near good food and good cocktail bars, this is the perfect spot. Those interested in more high end shopping or being close to the water should stay further down King. This was perfect for us!
27 January 2015
We always want an affordable hotel in close proximity to the bars/restaurants/sights when in Charleston and the Holiday Inn historic district has become our go-to place. Clean, new, nice staff...no complaints! Will be back again and again.
19 November 2014
The cost of the same room almost doubled on the weekend
The hotel was clean, staff very friendly, breakfast very good
13 November 2014
The entire staff was extremely nice and helpful!
10 November 2014
We purchased breakfast with our reservation, assuming we could order off the menu, but when we got to the hotel, we were told that it was a buffet only. They do have a chef available to prepare eggs and waffles, but no information was available for those with food allergies
The hotel is new and very clean. It is easy to walk to most places in downtown Charleston, but the hotel is on the very edge of the historic district, so some people might find it a hike to get around
8 November 2014
We offered to pay our room stay 'up-front', but were told this was unnecessary, so paid before we left after a 3 night stay. When I arrived in NYC, discovered I had very little money left on my travel card as the hotel had taken out charges way above total cost as a "pre-authorisation". This put me in a difficult position financially for the next week until it was reversed.
Comfy bed, helpful staff, good location to walk down King St & historic area.
21 October 2014
I felt the greater than 250 a night price would have been worth it if we were within walking distance of the Market and other French Quarter sites, however, it was quite the hike on foot to get to those locations, although doable. I would expect a few more niceties for this price point, like free brewed coffee in the lobby, and such, but the extras were always uh, extra, including the $16.00 breakfast. Wifi was free, but poor reception kept me from my emails. Maybe that was a plus.
Holiday Inn downtown advertised they were in the heart of downtown. Honestly, they are more like a mile and a half away. Still, the facility was new, the room immaculate. We did not eat in the restaurant, so I can't speak to it, other than to say their competitors offer free breakfast with an overnight stay. Holiday Inn charges $16.00
13 October 2014
Attractive hotel, easy access from highway, nice rooftop pool with comfortable seating to relax with a glass of wine, valet parking, clean comfortable room, good buffet in restaurant for breakfast with individually made omlets, pancakes, waffles etc.
12 October 2014
We couldn't even get a bottle of water iunless we were in our room during turn down time. Didn't find that out until we asked for water at front desk-no help. We found some in gym on our own.
Cleanliness, washer dryer, pool, gym. Great cleaning and restaurant staff.
