Having a breakfast included. It was very generous with egg, biscuits, pancakes, juice, etc. My son who lives in Berkeley was invited to join us for the buffet.

staff was very thoughtful and efficient. I needed to arrive very late and everything was in order. In the morning, efficient in providing what I needed. The design of the property is sensible given the location.

The location is in a difficult part of the city and is not one where a person would want to be walking around. However, it is relatively close to 4th Street shopping and restaurants.

airconditioner unit did not work and was not fixed after complaint despite them trying. shower broke but was fixed right away. long walk to the school but it was nice weather so good exercise

Staff was helpful. Rooms neat, clean, and efficient. Great value for area and convenient.

A bit small for Holiday Inn Express facility but it was CA and the city!

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good with variety. Close to Univeristy campus by bus.

I didn't get a chance to give Mr. Nasser a hug before I left. He wasn't there when my shuttle came to pick me up.

The staff was very helpful. The complimentary breakfast and coffee was very much appreciated and well stocked. I love the free and safe parking lot.

The "gym" is not really more than a treadmill in a tiny room off the lobby. There is no other food available once the breakfast is over.

The proximity to the freeways and to the Berkeley campus.

breakfast could have been better, not many options. Hotel was not too close to anywhere, which made getting around a problem, needed to call a taxi whenever we wanted to go out.

Had it not been for the fact that your site gave no indication that the hotel would add 20 dollars a night for taxes I should have considered it a good deal - but that came as a nasty shock. You should give a clear warning that your price will not be the total paid and that considerable taxes will be added on to the final bill

The booking cost gave no indication that approximately 20 dollars a night would be added on for local taxes - that was not factored into my budget and made the stay much more expensive. I know booking.com has no say over these taxes but it should be made very clear that they exist!!

Clean room, comfortable beds, good breakfast.

Early morning and all day loud construction going on just outside our window. The construction was obviously ongoing, so it would had been nice to either been discounted because we couldn't sleep in on our holiday or been told at the time of booking that there would be continual pounding the length of our stay.

The staff were helpful when problems arose. The room was clean and had more than adequate space for two. I would have liked a luggage rack (the kind that folds up) to keep my suitcase off the floor. At my age that would have been helpful.

The hairdryer didn't work in our room (see likes); and we didn't not get new packets of coffee each day in our room.

The rooms were clean; the service was friendly and accommodating, and knowledgeable. The complimentary breakfast was convenient. The location was convenient for our purposed (near the Cal campus.) Free parking in a safe parking lot.

The business office for guests was very sparse... 1 computer, although it was not crowded when I was there -- but if someone wanted to use a computer for any length of time, it would be uncomfortable. There is no coffee shop there or near by to visit with guests / family members.

The room was very good, although it didn't meet the description given in the booking form - there was no wet bar (or mini bar at all), nor did we get a morning newspaper. We liked the bathroom and the shower, and the bed was extremely comfortable.

The price. We discovered after booking that we could have booked a local b&b with similar facilities and a home cooked breakfast for a lower nightly rate. We also did not appreciate the 100% cancellation fee, when we had booked so far in advance.

The beds, pillows were wonderful.

The vent in the bathroom did not operate, the door for the bathroom would not stay open, had to use the trash can to keep it open and our only one could not be opened.

The room was lovely. The continental breakfast was good. I liked the hotel.

When I checked into the hotel, I was told by the employee that there was going to be a scheduled power outage on the entire block from 10:30 pm to 6:00 am and they had no control over it as it was a scheduled power outage by the city of Berkeley for the purpose of some type of construction on that block. I was disappointed that I was not informed of this power outage three hours earlier when I could have at least packed a flashlight and a book light. Maybe they figured it would not be a big deal because most people would be asleep? But we were in Berkeley to see a band, so we did not get back to the hotel until 11:00 pm and would have liked to relax and unwind with some TV or the ability to use our laptop (which we could not because it has a bad battery and has to be plugged in to use). Instead, we had no choice but to go straight to sleep. The hotel did provide us with a flashlight, so we were thankful for that. When we checked out I asked if I could have a discount due to the power outage and they said they would take $50.00 off. I was satisfied with that, but when they looked at my reservation and saw that it had been pre-paid through booking.com they said they could not take $50.00 off my bill. The employee then typed on a piece of paper that I could have $50.00 off my next visit with them. That was my first over night stay in Berkeley, and I don't know when or if there will be another. Not because I refuse to stay at that hotel, but because I don't know if or when there will be another reason to stay over night in Berkeley. If there is another show in Berkeley, I will probably stay there, but I will most likely avoid making hotel reservations with booking.com since it made it impossible for them to give me the $50.00 discount for the power outage.

Front desk people were very nice, liked breakfast in the am, room was clean, nice looking and I liked the selection of pillows. Easy to find and convenient to where I was visiting (Kaiser Permanente Training Facility). Close to nice shopping on Fourth Street.

No workout facility. TV was hard to use(but that is minor). Traffic in the area is a nightmare, but goes with the territory - glad to have the hotel there.

The staff was very friendly and made us feel at home. Went out of their way to help us. Rooms large and had everything we needed. Very clean.

Only ordered room service once, but food arrived cold; it's an outside company delivering. But there are several restaurants in walking distance, so not a problem. Also, internet was slow at times.

Hotel needs refurbishment. Poor breakfast and inadequate seating in breakfast are (needed to go to the room to eat because simply no seats in breakfast room).

Cal near by, close to softball games

Close enough to uc Berkeley, where we were visiting. One of the few places with 2 queen beds per room (we were 2 adults & 2 teenage boys). Clean, nice enough, serviceable, adequate parking, good selection for the complementary breakfast. Not luxurious-- but that's okay. Would stay there again.
