Hotel Cass - A Holiday Inn Express at Magnificent Mile640 North Wabash Avenue, Near North Side, Chicago, IL 60611 (Show map)
Very good,
Score from 159 reviews
“ The location was fantastic. We walked the city from the South loop to Lincoln Park and Cass was the perfect home base. My teenage son and I were comfortable in a double room though there was little extra room. ”

It was close to the city. It was always clean even though the cleaning was late in the rooms sometimes. I really really liked the coffee to go every day - all day!! Very polite staff every where. Very small rooms. No windows in the bathrooms very negative.

Comfortable bed. Extremely friendly and cooperative staff. Close to theater and shopping our room was extremely small. We had no refridgerator. One person had to suck in their gut in order for the other person to pass by in order to use the bathroom . Noise level was aweful. Cars honking, Ambulance sirens all night long.

The breakfast was nice. The bed sheet is dirty and smells really bad. The house keeping lady started to knock our door to remind us to check out around 9:00am. And woke us up three times before we check out.

The staff is outstanding and went the extra mile or two to help (especially Fran and the young lady working the front desk early on the morning of April 18!) Nothing comes to mind

Very professional always busy hard working staff. Rooms were a bit small but it was expected and if my boyfriend wasn't so tall it wouldn't have been an issue at all.

It was clean and easy. The breakfast was one of the most horrible hotel breakfasts I have ever had, we only ate the first of three mornings and that was one of the selling points of the hotel. It was processed horrible food served on styrofoam plates that melted under my toast, also plastic knives and forks. There was a little fruit but it was very under ripe. Half of the people in the room had to eat off their laps as there is not enough tables. The hotel was very noisy, the walls are very thin and the cleaning staff start very early, we could hear people using the toilet above us and the hotel staff were yelling and chatting to each other before 8 am even on a Sunday. They knocked on our door to clean our room before 9am despite the do not disturb sign.

The location was fine for my purposes There is no such thing in this hotel as a quiet room. All open directly onto the elevator hall. And the heating units were like having a jet engine right next to your bed! The room was tiny. There was not even room for a small writing surface or a normal sized chair to sit on. For one night, it probably would be OK, but for 5 nights, it was a real trial.

Staff were good, continental breakfast was value friendly.best was location. We could walk to most of our destinations and when come back this Summer will stay here again. Our room was next to the heating/cooling system and I am a light sleeper. My bed caved in the middle, gave me a back ache.

It is a GREAT value. The staff is helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean, the location is great (close to all the downtown activities and great restaurants) and I was amazed at the great breakfast in the morning. This is going to be me "go-to" place for overnight trips to Chicago for entertainment & shopping.

Again, it's about location, location, location. It's right near the metro station and the magnificent mile. You can easily reach anywhere. There are a couple of nice restaurants nearby. It's good if you want to see the city, stay at a comfortable hotel, and get a good price for it. Hotels in the loop are generally expensive. Another option would be to stay in near north. It's safe and convenient. The room is rather small, but it's okay if you are not looking for a really big and fancy room.
