Can't beat the location - parking on the same block - easy walking distance to anything on or around Michigan Ave.
The building is old - historical- so it has quirks. One of those is the room sizes are very small (cozy). Don't expect to spread out or spend a lot quality lounging time in the room. It's not that kind of hotel room. It's clean, with a comfortable bed and great location. Sleep, shower, go party.
The location was great. We walked to the bars, shopping areas were at our door step and restaurants. No need for a car.
I didn't like the young girl with the RED glasses. Her attitude was messed up from the time we walked in until we checked out.
The breakfast and the location
Loved the location. Just a few minutes walk off Michigan Avenue shopping district. A Trader Joe was across the street. Public parking lot adjacent to property -- convenient, but pricey.
This isn't a deal breaker, but the rooms (at least mine) are small. Lighting was dim.
The hotel was lovely and the staff were amazing. I felt entirely at home and welcomed. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable; definitely value for money. The hotel is well situated, close enough to the Magnificent Mile but just far enough away to have a peaceful night.
The breakfast can be a little early if you are someone who likes to sleep in late, yet this does get you up and going for the day so if visiting for tourist reasons this is not so much of an issue.
everything, breakfast was perfect, room was great. amazing staff
Ironically the pictures of different breeds of chickens in lobby.
The heater inside room clanked loud. It woke me several times in the night.
Rooms very clean and tidy right by the magnificient mile. Very friendly staff always wanting to help
The location is great. Very clean. The rooms are small however clean and upgraded. Nice touch to have pillows that are soft and firm and identified by the pillow cases
Not crazy about the free breakfast.
quick service had room key within minutes. After a long trip that was exactly what I needed
We liked the cleanliness, the breakfast, and the cute, tiny reading lights on each side of the bed.
Booking.com misled us to believe a Queen Room would have a "Desk" and "Sitting area." Our queen room was very cramped, had no desk, and had no seats except the bed itself. The hotel staff said only King Rooms have such facilities.
Love the location of the hotel, less than a block away from my restrauant reservation. This is a older building which means rooms and hallways are a little smaller. Great hot breakfast.
Great breakfast and a good view from room
Room was very small. No chairs to sit in. No mini fridge
The Bed was very comfortable and clean upon arrival.
The room was comfortable yet very small. Barely enough room for 2.
Great Location: hotel cass is located in the middle of everything. Shopping, movies, grocery store and the subway are all just blocks from the front door.
Staff is all about the business. Staff seem to be more interested in their phones than their guests. I arrived at check in and the staff didn't acknowledge me until I asked a question. I asked about the hotels rewards program they referred me to a 1-800 number. I called down about extending my stay, was told I'd get a call back. Never got one. Although my "shhhhh" sign was on the door, houskeeping still knocked..vacuuming started promptly each day waking me up.. And rather than use my name staff referred to me as my room number(i.e. "903").
Everyone was super nice and the room was comfortable.
The treadmill was broken during my overnight stay
Everything was awesome except having to wait for staff to finish convos or waiting behind staff stuffing food in their pockets at continental breakfast
Had to wait for staff several times while they discussed how Great God was... Not the time or place folks.....
Super comfy bed. Good location. Breakfast was included.
The room was super small. There was a silver fish on the floor in the bathroom.
Everything about out stay was awesome!
Pleasant staff, good breakfast, small rooms, but more than adequate
Check in was easy and staff was very friendly except for one person.... She was not helpful at all. Very clean hotel with the perfect location
This is a isolated incident, but the sheets were not clean when we arrived, we asked to have the changed and they dropped off a new set for US to change???
First time in Chicago and was told to stay close to Michigan Ave and downtown and this hotel is in the perfect location. It's literally a block from the magnificent mile and a few blocks away from good restaurants. The bed was comfortable and I unexpectedly love the reading lights on each side of the bed.
I booked the queen room and it was still pretty small. If you plan on traveling with kids I would look into a place with more square footage. It could have just the room I stayed in but the thermostat was definitely off by 5 degrees. Not good when you're trying to stay warm in cold Chicago. The staff could have been more friendly. Not expecting hugs or anything but they did their job without a smile and that's just very off putting as a customer. Overall it was in a great location but everything else is okay, nothing to brag but nothing to really complain about either.
easy access around downtown chicago
bedroom is to small
