That I got my money back after complaining and checking out.

Where to start...WAY overpriced! As soon as you arrive you're met by the car park being dug up. Then you're given your key to a room which was last updated around 20 years ago, and which smells of dampness. The internet doesn't work, so we spent all evening complaining to no avail. The worst place I've come across in all my 11 stays in California. And the most expensive of them all!

Location was the best. Walking distance to the beach and a short drive to the kayak launch area. We had a pool side cabana that made access to the pool easy. Also the pool and hot tub are open late, until 10pm.

    Powdered eggs.

The receptionist David was amazing! We got there slighty earlier than the check-in time, and he was happy to have us check-in and ended up upgrading us to a beautiful spacious suite, it was a lovely touch and very unexpected. The facilities were great, breakfast is tasty, very fresh, well stocked and clean and the staff are lovely. Nice having a pool and hot tub to use at our convenience as well as being so close to Windansea Beach. We will definitely return when we are back in La Jolla.

Nothing...We did ask if there were any beach equipment to use/hire from the hotel which there were not, but there were many local shops around to do so. A few recycling bins in the cafe would be good but all in all a great place and location!

    Good location

Terrible breakfast. Basically the single most terrible breakfast I've seen in any hotel around the world.

The Pool and hot tub was nice. No wonder you feature this in the pictures you use to portray the facilities

Breakfast the first day consisted of very dry crumbly eggs and paper thin tasteless bacon. when my wife complained to the staff they immediately brought out fresher food. The toilet seat was wet when we first cheked in and the coffee pot needed cleaning. Their was only one chair in the room and not every one wants to have to sit on the bed to read. Compared to other HE facilities this is a underwhelming over priced experience. If you want to credit me back on my bill that would be appreciated as the value was not there. $ 500+ bucks for 2 nights? seriously?

Great breakfast (interesting pancake machine). On-site laundromat - very handy. Pool looks nice but I didn't have time to use it.

Not so much a dislike, but note that currently (May 2014) they don't have a parking lot. They provide free valet service which is very quick (no complaints at all), but it does mean that your car is not close to you, so you need to take everything you need to your room.

Nice clean place one block from Windansea Beach in La Jolla for a very good price. Staff was friendly, thay had complimentary valet parking, good breakfast, and a nice pool. Couldn't really ask for much more - I would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was really good! Staff was very helpful. Beds were very comfortable!

We had to valet park because of construction. This was very inconvenient and costly because we had to tip each time.

We were on our annual retreat - meaning time of silence and prayer and long walks. The site was nice and quiet, close to ocean and the staff knew why we were there and accommodated our requests for extra towels up front and no room service during our stay.

Quite and in a good location. Mostly family travlers, when I was there. Coffee in the room and table to do work.

The table lamps on each side of the bed should be the type with AC outlets. So you can charge a phone or laptop.

Close to everything La Jolla has to offer. Very well renovated older property. Nice "courtyard" feel. Pool area very nice.

Large young families crammed in small rooms, hanging wet clothes outside on railing in common areas.

Simple breakfast with fresh fruit and milk available. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Good location if you don't mind walking into La Jolla village or to the beach.

Rooms not very sound-proof, so if there are noisy neighbors especially horsing around the pool, can be disruptive. Mattress is quite old and soft, needs to be replaced.
