I have stayed here numerous times, and I have never had a bad experience. On Wednesdays they have a bbq for the guests. Very nice staff.
Don't stay in room 293. Very noisy.
I love the staff. They showed such class and courtesy. I will always use Holiday Express Inns from this day on forward
Very pleasant helpful staff ,good central location, helpful and timely shuttle service (thanks driver MIke). Overall a positive experience from check-in to check out
Beds were comfortable and the location easy access to freeway. The breakfast was good as well as the people serving the breakfast they were very helpful and friendly
did not like that our coffee maker was in the bathroom. Rooms and hallway did not smell fresh.
nice room, large, good breakfast, easy access
bathroom was small
The staff was so friendly and would go out of their way to make sure you were taken care of. I would definately stay here again. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. There was a complementary BBQ on Wednesday evening...it was great!
a nice swimming pool, on the day of our arrival there was a free bbq in the evening. large rooms.
to crowded during breakfast
We were in room 123 for two nights. There was shaking going on. Finally at 10 a.m. I called the front desk. It was the laundry room. We stayed two days. We stayed a third night because we won a soccer game and had to play at 7pm. We got an upgrade coupon. Seriously, I didn't consider that an upgrade. Never again. Carol Carmona
All the staff were staff friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to check in a bit early which made all the difference during an exhausting move. All the facilities were clean and comfortable.
If I had to pick something the pancakes were rubbery from the machine. Otherwise all was fantastic!
Kitchen workers very helpful
The weather was cool at night so we were able to turn the air off and sleep with fresh air. The comfortable mattress and choice of a firm or soft pillow was lovely. The hotel is close to downtown Walnut Creek. Very good value.
Breakfast buffet was crazy busy on the weekend. It would have been better to put the juice and cereal almond a different wall... I hate plastic utensils.
was not happy with breakfast choice,
Good breakfast, nice pool area, the few interactions I had with the staff gave a positive impression. Best wifi we had during our 3 week roadtrip.
Nothing to dislike
The stuff are very helpful and I woukd like to thank Miss Silvia for the good treatment and help all the time
Parking wasn't great
Good parking, very good wifi, comfortable beds, spacious room. Coffee available all day.
Significant waiting time for checking in. Noise from street and nearby highway comes in through the single glazed windows. Old carpets really need changing. Jacuzzi was dirty. Main complaint is related to breakfast experience: closing at 9:30 is simply unacceptable especially when you have to spend time with preparing your meal at the badly organized self-service counter. There is not much choice of healthy options. Space cannot handle the amount of people and makes the whole breakfast experience unpleasant. Plastic cutlery and paper plates makes you wonder about environmental impact, not to mention that for the price you pay this is poor quality. Overall, this hotel needs a bit of renovation and improvement of services.
Lower level room had direct access to street not very secure. Slider did not have bar on it so could be broken into easily
Facility was clean and staff very courteous. Only detractors were that it had no restaurant and the pool needed more frequent sweeping. Definitely a good deal if you are staying in the area.
No in house dining and pool needed more frequent sweeping.
The staff was very friendly and professional. I loved the bed- it was so comfortable. The Wednesday barbecue was wonderful. I was stay again and recommend it to my friends.
The HI Express was welcoming and cozy. A huge parking garage in the basement level made it easy to find a spot to park for the night. Staff were exceptionally helpful in every way, even with suggestions for where to go for exercise. Wednesday nights the manager provided beer, burgers, grilled chicken and a variety of salad type items, so come hungry. The breakfast provided gave many options, including a personal pancake machine! We would definitely come back to this hotel again if we're in the area.
There were only two treadmills and they were always busy when we wanted or needed to work out. Fortunately, there is a bicycle path 200m away from the hotel and a short 5 minute walk to the park provided a great place to do our run.
the breakfast eggs should be better
I enjoyed the private area..There wasent a lot of strange people wondering around. They had a few breakfast things to choose from my daughter enjoyed the pancakes, sausage and yogurt. For the most we enjoyed are stay
The air flow and ventilation in the hallways were very stuffy but a staff member put a huge fan at the end of the hallway so it finally began to cool off..
The room was clean and comfortable.
The parking. First of all, the desk clerk gave us no idea where to park in relation to our room. We ended up parking in on the opposite end of the facility and dragging our luggage along trying to find our room, which ended up being 3 doors down from the check-in desk. Also, the parking spaces were tiny, with almost no spaces available for vehicles that were not compact size. It made for a stressful situation.
It's a Holiday Inn. As long as it's clean, which my room was. I'm ok with that. Unless it's a 4 or 5 star, I'm not too critical.
