I think it is a good choice. Might be a bit cheaper, but it’s Manhattan where you find nothing cheap as many reviewers have already noted.
Will not stress the location – it is good indeed, close to some places of interest – many reviewers have already commented on it. However, Manhattan is big enough, so if one is close enough to something, it’s certainly distant enough from something else – no way to fight it!
Not too spacious but clean and comfort room. Neat and clean bathroom. I personally hate the shower system without flexible extension – but in the US you find it very rarely, so…. Deposit box in the room (I don’t remember if it was mentioned in the description). Know nothing about the rooms facing the 29th street, but our windows looked into the yard and it was absolutely silent in the room – when the conditioner decided to shut up!
Good breakfast – choice of eggs, sausages, bakery, fruits, yoghurts and even pancake machine. We stayed in late February; maybe it’s the reason why, in spite of a rather small dining room there were no serious problems with place to sit. Quality is quite good, though, of course, it’s not a good restaurant . Very convenient thing – coffee and tea available 24 hrs, and sometimes it’s very helpful. No objection against taking food to your room which, I think is not so typical for buffet system.
Extremely friendly personal, ready to help in any situation I faced. A very convenient room were you can store your luggage – we had to check out at 11 am, while our flight was at 20 pm, so we could use almost half a day for sightseeing not having to think what to do with our bags.
Well, it may be a problem with conditioner system as well as with my brains. Control block is very simple: you choose F or C (rare thing in the USA!) and set the desired temperature. As simple as that! After that I’d naturally expect the system to reach the desired temperature and stop for some time, then heat the air a bit again and so on. Nothing like that! The device would first overheat the room considerably and then start blowing COLD air till the room temperature gets well below the preset one. Then heating cycle restarts. Not so terrible, but adds fan noise to the environment and staying nearby when it’s time for cold flow is more than unpleasant. However I admit that I failed to figure out some tricks to control the system in the desired way and was lazy enough to go down to the lobby for help.
