Ever since a problem was encountered on Apollo 13, Houston has been an international household name. The 4th largest US city, it is home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center where Mission Control is located. Of course, this is not its only claim to fame. This is Texas after all, where everything is big.
Houston’s Reliant Astrodome was the world’s first indoor sports stadium under a domed roof, and the Galleria is the largest mall in Texas. The city’s Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest in the world, and the JP Morgan Chase Tower is the planet’s tallest 5-sided building. The list goes on.
Amid the skyscrapers of the thriving CBD is the Toyota Center, home of the city’s NBA and AHL teams. The theatre district is also in the downtown area, whereas the museum district is concentrated to the north-east of Hermann Park, home of a boating lake, nature reserve and miniature railway. Also here is Houston Zoo, and just west is Rice University, one of several in the city.
The bohemian Rice Village is popular with students, as are the city’s historic pubs and leafy parks. Houston also has no shortage of restaurants or accommodation options. Those on Booking.com include motels, apartments and hotels near George Bush Airport.

The area that I was in seemed okay, (near Hobby airport) I enjoyed shopping at the Galleria. We enjoyed eating familiar foods, I'm from Louisiana but I live in Minnesota and the food is NOT the same as the south and forget about ice cold delicious, sweet tea!!! But I truly enjoyed the areas and attractions that we were able to see. The weather was beautiful!!!

Our visits to Houston are primarily for health care at MD Anderson, but we definitely enjoy our time in the area. Traffic in and around the city is challenging, but that's true of every major city. We love the food, the shopping, and the museum district.

Houston has much to offer.
Houston has much to offer. This trip we walked easily from Hotel Icon to Jones Hall for a Houston Symphony Concert which was excellent. The next afternoon we enjoyed an outstanding play at the Alley Theater. Took an uber ride to visit old friends on other side of Houston. Light rail easy to use. Many Parks, Herman Park a favorite near the many outstanding museums!

My time in Houston is irrelevant.
My time in Houston is irrelevant. I travel a lot and live so far from the airport, it's easier for me to stay in hotels near the airport for my early departures. But, Courtyard by Marriott is the best hotel near the airport I've found.
-The location is unbeatable. The Galleria mall is 5 min walking from the Hotel, and there are many store real close. There are several stores close to the hotel, so it was pretty easy to walk instead of taking Ubers.
-Front Desk and the cleaning team was excellent, always happy to help.
-The included breakfast was pretty good for the price included. The only downside was the service hours 6-9am and 7-10am during weekends. But just plan ahead your day.
- Room was clean and had many amenities.
I have stayed here several times in the past two years as I flew in and out of Houston for trips to Mexico and Central America. It is one of the best hostels anywhere. Always clean, good WiFi, comfortable beds, a kitchen and common areas. The dorms are spacious. The bus to downtown is one block away. Now that COVID travel restrictions have been lifted, there are travelers from all over the world again. I highly recommend this hostel for a memorable Houston travel experience.
Very nice hotel!! Perfect location (close to aqvarium and downtown), cozy, very helpful and friendly stuff, clean room, room was cleaned every morning, children loved the pool, free water and coffee 24 hours, there is washing mashine for guests, breakfast also were quite good (you cannot compare american breakfast with european breakfast:) in america i miss vegetables and real food so much, but compare with other hotels breakfast it was quite good).
The hotel offers clean, quiet, comfortable and spacious rooms. The mattress is firm but not too hard. The pillows are soft but not too much so. The bathroom offers body wash, shampoo and hair conditioner. The hotel is located at the southern end of downtown Houston, but within an easy walking distance to all of the downtown area. Moreover, getting an Uber/Lyft never required a wait longer than 5 minutes for trips outside of downtown.
Great location close to all the activities I wanted to do downtown. It was very clean, roomy, smelled good and we really enjoyed our stay. one of the best Airbnb I have stayed in. The host was amazing and always responded back quickly with any questions. Also the little snacks and drinks she left us were a plus. I don't have any complaints, I will definitely be staying there my next visit to Houston.
Comfortable, modern hotel in Houston's Uptown across from the Galleria. Good location if you want to be in Uptown. Easy access off Loop 610. Convenient parking garage. Woman at front desk gave us complementary parking ($25/night) since I remarked the pet fee was so high ($75/night). Area to walk dog in back of hotel with complementary poop bags.
Love the location. This property is close to the Galleria mall and water wall and only a short drive to everything we wanted to go, like the parks and Chinatown and downtown. Also Walgreens is only 2 blocks away. I also like that they have hot breakfast. Also the staff are nice and friendly.
Good Galleria location. Easy to find.
Friendly, helpful staff
Clean, fresh hotel. Very clean room and bathroom
Excellent size room, very comfortable bed (with choice of pillows); good quality linens.
Limited but reasonable breakfast
On-site parking
If you are overnighting in Houston, this is the best location. You just take the airport train that takes you from the terminals and it stops at the hotel! Grab a skycap (porter) if you have lots of luggage and they will take you all the way there! So convenient!
Had to overnight in Houston on the way to an International destination. Location was perfect. Great breakfast before heading to the airport. The staff was super nice and helpful. I had packages delivered to the hotel, which were promptly given to me at check-in.
Everything the staff was excellent, they went above and beyond for any request we may have had. Location is great and maybe a 15min drive to downtown Houston. Also the hotel is quiet which I loved. You get your money's worth with this hotel.
Flight cancelled by United. Houston was my layover. Called hotel at midnight, came in exhausted with 2 children. They listened to my airport drama that night AND the next morning. Friendly staff who helped us in a tough situation.
Very nice apartment close to Houston Downtown with a nice balkony with pool view. The pool itself is also very nice. Everything was quite during the whole day. We could have used the washing machine and the fridge was very big!
Location to the venue was excellent. Easy parking across the street in front of hotel. Centrally located to downtown and walking distance to various restaurants and places to visit.
Location just like any other hotel around that area; to be next to the Houston Galleria Mall; was excellent. If the intent is alway to visit the mall…. walk distance is perfect….
This hotel is fantastic and far and away the best in downtown Houston. Staff is friendly and helpful. Checking in is also a treat with the bubbly. Everything was excellent.
Clean rooms, good location for downtown Houston. Great coffee machine in the lobby, but unfortunately the machine was out of service for the most part of our stay.
The breakfast and coffee was great.
I loved the location of the hotel. There several restaurants near by and we were just minutes from the Galleria mall.
