Easy to access via public transport from JFK Friendly and efficient staff Room was clean and fairly spacious (for NY!) Good location, close to the lower end of Central Park, various subway stations. As a woman travelling on my own, I felt safe walking in the neighbourhood at night getting to and from the hotel.
The lift was quite slow on a busy morning when checking out - not really anything that can be done about that when everyone wants to check out at the same time!
Great Location and roof top pool for a reasonBle price.
It's like the hotel got stuck in the 80's. No late check out, not too friendly personnel.
Rooms a very good size. Clean and comfortable. Excellent location.
Maid knocked on door 8.00 to clean the room !!!
NYC hotel rooms for two are abundant and you can find good deals. When you have a third person, in this instance our high school son, it is harder to find an economical room. This hotel nailed it in that regard. Our room was plenty big, we had two queen size beds, and best of all - it is in the heart of midtown Manhattan. We will happily stay here again.
So the Midtown Manhattan Holiday Inn is not new and luxurious, and if that is what you are looking for you might want to look elsewhere, but be prepared to pay double for it. What this hotel was, tho, was clean, spacious, and economical AND in Midtown Manhattan.
Very well located. Overall everything was ok.
Waiting time for elevators, need improvement. Rooms in need to be updated.
Bathroom door is a bit older.
Size of the room, price, and location.
The staff was great. Especially the concierge Wanda ! Told us a great place for pizza that was only a half a block away.
poor experience with wi-fi the entire trip (3 days), highlighted by total failure for several hours the final day.
Cleanliness, views, pool, comfy beds and location.
Lack of tea making facilities (a kettle and tea bags). Bar a bit pricey for non-alcoholic beverages. Some noisy neighbours in nearby rooms.
Location King bed room was spacious and clean. welcome message on the TV
the lady in the reception was rude when we asked if they offer a luggage storing possibility on the check out date. We had a few more interactions with the same person within our stay and none of them were pleasant. Curtains were old so you could see holes and the light was coming through.
Location, pool, big room
Slow wifi, very cold in the rooms
We received good service when our sink was plugged and air conditioner was not working.
The pool closes at 6 pm which was not helpful nor did we know this when we booked. We were usually not back until about 6 and out again about 7:30 pm would be better if pool stayed open until 8 pm. Also we sat in the hallway to use the wifi as it was much faster there.
many things to do in the neighbourhood good breakfast
WIFI free but useless long queues at the elevators room wasn't cleaned every day very noise street side
Location, that's it.
Dated room, poor facets, door bangs throughout the night, early pool closure.
Location is the advantage of this hotel
The pool was great for the kids to swim in. Room was large and comfortable. Location was great. Close enough to everything. Our kids managed the walk to Times Square (but not back again!). Concierge was friendly and helpful. Good restaurants nearby.
Staff: Tomor, SINGH and SUNNY provided exceptional service and are a credit to the industry. WANDA at the travel advice desk was very knowledgeable and actually visited places she recommended. Joe the GM is a very approachable, lively character and made himself very visible to all guests, short and sharp. Location is fantastic including rooftop pool - backdrop was awesome.
Pool hours reflect (no pun intended) weather and staff availability. No fridge within rooms but icebox and maker available on floor. Reduced elevator availability during peak times and hence long waiting period. Only 1x travel advisor available even during long queues - could be managed better at peak times. I requested a night-time photo shoot from the rooftop but was refused - concluded if an extraordinary request is made, no decision maker available. :(
The location was excellent I could easily get to the places I wanted to visit and shopping from this hotel. The staff were warm, friendly and very accomodating.
Really liked the pool - very refreshing. Domingo was awesome - he helped us find theatre tickets and the show was fantastic.
Breakfast, friendly staff
Small elevators, left something in a room, not able to retrieve due to hours of lost and found, Computers in business station charged by the minute and were the slowest is ever seen.
The air conditioner in our originally booked room wasn't working. We were quickly given a new room, upgrading us from a Queen to a King room at no extra charge.
I booked the room through booking.com for one price and was billed at another rate at check in. I had picked this hotel based on the low price offered and I felt as if I was deceived. Could have stayed closer to Time Square for the price I ended paying at the Holiday Inn.
The staff was very friendly and eager to provide exceptional service. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Easy walking distance to great restaurants and attractions.
Beds very comfortable.
Bathroom old. Toilet didn't flush the first time. Air conditioning not too cold.
