Holiday Inn - Midtown - 57th Street  

The location close to Central Park and some decent eateries was good.

The staff were quite offhand and not as helpful as we are used to in Europe. The hotel was very expensive for its condition, but I guess location drives that. The free wifi was erratic. The fact that a guy died in the lobby was not the fault of the hotel, but that he was left there for at least 5 hours was a little disrespectful to him and us!

Location excellent for sightseeing, theatres, Central Park and shopping. Comfortable bedroom. Catering staff obliging.

Lack of soundproofing - traffic noise from street at night; crying baby in next room. Lack of tea making facilities in room. No gluten free menu which was essential for my daughter. Female concierge particularly unfriendly (in contrast to her male colleague)

Staff were fantastic, great location in residential area so quite peaceful in evnings but very close to sights etc.

Location it is very close to Met and Lincoln Center. Easy walk. Cafe was good food and reasonable price. Staff were helpful with information. Hotel very accomodating with late checkout.

Vending machines were empty, did not work or were padlocked. Wallpaper was peeling off walls. For over $330 per night this should have been a much better standard.

Combination of value for money and location - we have business around Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle; this worked very well. Room size was generous. Room layout with separate shower/WC was good.

The hotel isn't in its first flush of youth and is beginning to look a bit uncared for.

Our room had stains on the carpet, stains and tears on drapes, bed dust ruffle, large holes in the furniture upholstery, wallpaper coming off walls, stained bathroom tile grout, etc

This hotel is a good deal for Manhattan. Close to the Central Park and to Broadway, it has very good location. Although it's still expensive, Holiday Inn was one of the cheapest hotel I found (with good services and comfortable rooms) at that region of ny. I would stay there next time.

WiFi internet was unstable and the signal was very weak in my room.

Was old fashioned. Aware rooms are undergoing refurbishment. Badly needing done. For the price we paid, expected more modern environment. Had a few issues with our group. Rooms were not ready on arrival. Had early start one morning and restaurant staff wouldn't even supply us with some toast!!!

Front Office Clerk who checked us in and out, paid Internet in the business center, no tea in the room (just coffee), no bottles of water and slippers in the room. The hotel makes an impression of a "second hand" hotel

GREAT Location and great value. Rooms were big, staff was nice and helpful. Close to subway, shopping and Central Park. Great area of NYC.

I liked the location of the hotel.

The cleaning people were very noisy early in the morning. They would also enter the room after only 1 knock.

Two great pillows for each person. Heating was easy to regulate and everything worked.

The room was very large for a Manhattan hotel and the price was very reasonable.

Location. Easy walking distance to Lincoln Center, Central Park, Museums, Times Square.

City area around hotel appeared safe without hindering walking around at night. Overall proximity to business and other activities relatively convenient. Hotel staff courteous and accommodating.

There was no late diner, cafe, or coffee shop in the hotel or nearby. Transportation to JFK quite a distance without private shuttle. Cabs are expensive. On the last night an argumentative couple disrupted the usual quiet atmosphere with loud expletives while walking the hallways. There was no security to keep them quiet.

We early for our check in but was still given our room which was nice. We liked the look of the lobby bar.

But unfortunately the service at the above mentioned lobby bar was very poor. Very unfriendly staff, and our food came out at separate times. It was just very slow. And I work in the restaurant service industry so I know what the minimum standard is and they were below it.

Just wanted to tell you what happened, I booked a room for two days in this hotel and when I arrived I gave the receptionist my credit card, then the receptionist said my credit card is declined the credit card does not work so I have to pay by cash. so I did pay for two days 289 us dollar.And then we went back home and I checked my bank account and found that the money has been paid twice that means 497 us dollar when the receptionist tried to deal with my credit card. That means I paid for another extra four days and my booking is for two days.I was ripped off.

Lady at the front desk in the afternoon on Sat. Was rude. Our room was very hot and we couldn't cool it off (in your defense, we did not mention it to the front desk.) And not having a cover on the toilet is a bad mistake.

I was very impressed with customer service.

At times due to one of the elevators being out of service the wait was very long,but no other issues than that.
