Score from 442 reviews Very good
The staff were incredibly friendly and we were delighted to receive a complimentary bottle of bubbly and some nibbles after we'd mentioned that we were on our honeymoon. The hotel is conveniently located and very well maintained. We would definitely stay here again, were we to return to San Francisco.
The holiday Inn was very clean, close to public transport and tram line. Good deal for breakfast, kids either eat free when choosing from menu or $5 when eating from buffet. Some helpful and friendly staff. Nice pool to relax in as San Fran was very hot!
There was one staff member who was extremely unhelpful. His position was the travel advisor. He gave very little information, rolled his eyes, was rude and should seek another position!
Right next to the Trolley Car with amazing views over the city towards Golden Gate park. There's a guest laundry right next to a well equipped gym. The outdoor pool is nice with plenty of fresh towels.
Absolutely nothing. I wish our stay in SF was longer.
The price you quoted mentioned tax would be added, but did not come close to the actual price of staying there for one night. They have many additional taxes AND a $45.63 PARKING FEE ! The total cost for a one night stay was $233.95, not $162 plus the tax rate you quoted. TV was not free. Nothing was included in the room price, except 24 hours of free internet service. EVERYTHING else cost extra.
Beds comfy. View from corner rooms unique. Room clean
Windows were so dirty, view was ruined. I wouldn't thave paid so much more for the bay view rooms had I known we wouldn't be able to see very well.
Easy access to all tourist sites. Very good buffet breakfast. very helpful & courteous staff.
High city-centre price.
Clean rooms great service! Excellent restaurant
Pool area not the cleanest
The hotel was clean and well presented, and convenient to public transport. The staff at concierge were most helpful, especially Douglas, We appreciated his advice.
The hotel was overpriced for the star rating. We have stayed in 5 star hotels for half the price of Holiday inn - San Francisco. The restaurant was mediocre. The reception rather off hand. The free wi fi did notwork.
Very clean comfortable bedrooms. Quiet on higher floors. Great views. Good WiFi.
Requested an adjoining or next door rooms on booking, and again the day before on warning of late arrival. This was not done, despite the fact I was assured it would be. Very mediocre and uninspired buffet breakfast. Would have preferred a separate restaurant for evening meal. Extremely drafty reception and part of the dinning room, often cold.
The location was very good
Just the earthquake:-(
Everything bar the addition of 50% or $140 a day to your Bookings.com supposed full price quoted!!!!!! Disgraceful.
$40 a night to park......so where else are you supposed to put your car when you have driven to stay there??????? + $33 a night so called "using a room" tax........so what else would you do at a hotel and are you not already paying to stay in your room !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! + another $17 for yet a further additional dreamed up tax of some kind?!?!?!?! + you book a room for 3 people that Bookings.com say they have checked and it's included.......then find that Holiday Inn say oh no they might have told you that but it's a room for 2 people at $787 for 3 nights so you then have to pay another $30 a night for a 3rd person!!!!!!!! + $17.99 a day for their breakfast!!!!!!............ADDING A total of $140 a night or $420 for a 3 night stay to booking.com's $787 quote and making the bill $1,207 instead..........50% Higher!!!!!!!!!
In the proximity of small dinning restaurants.
Location was good. Right off freeway and easy to locate. Parking availability, coffee shop in lobby was great
Room was right next to elevator and noise was constent. Could not open windows, I needed air. Fan and AC in room was too noisy. Windows were dirty. Carpet was dirty. We did not get anything extra, for 1 night stay w/parking for a room that was not that great $300. we will not be returning there again.
Availability & View
A little away from downtown but oK
Cleanliness. Concierge extremely helpful. Excellant views from presumably just a standard room.
Travelled for 3 weeks with two teenagers & shared a room throughout, only hotel with bog standard double beds. Bigger beds would have been nice!
Staff during breakfast not too far from main transportations and activities
High Rate : 400$ for 1 room Double beds are not Queen ! so very little room breakfast paying for kids as extra
Everyone was very helpful. Public transportation was very near to the hotel.
When we first arrived we were told we didn't have a reservation and no rooms were available . When we finally got her to call Booking.Com are room was available.
I was so impressed with the knowledge of San Francisco for tourist help, as well as the congenial and friendly attitude from the concierges. The room offered a very clean environment with a large workout facility compared to most hotels.
I was so dissatisfied with the rude, distrusting front desk, which, when coupled with their poor communication skills, ruined the end of our stay. I am planning on writing a letter to Holiday Inn because not only were they distrustful of our sincere and moral intents, but they did little to attempt to appease us. I thought the customer was always right and that in America we were innocent until proven guilty. However, we paid extra for the breakfast buffet for our family and the first front desk employee failed to give us some type of ticket for the buffet that she acknowledged that we had paid for. Busy day, perhaps she forgot and we, as new to this system, didn't know we needed a ticket. We thought it was honor system after she confirmed my question to ensure we all got the breakfast buffet included. No problem. The next day my husband went to correct it, and they gave him one buffet, but we paid for our whole family. The rest of the family was meeting the other side of the family, so we thought they gave him only one buffet because he went to the desk as a solo/individual. The next day we stop at the front desk to ask for our breakfast buffet tickets for the whole family for that morning and they refuse to give us any. We had to leave to catch our plane soon, so after 15 minutes of explaining how we never got the tickets to begin with for our 2-day stay, they continued to refuse us the buffet for which we paid and refused to talk to the other desk employee person who initially failed to do her job and give us the tickets. We turn to leave because our time is getting limited because we have to catch a taxi to head to the airport, and she offers us a bagel and a drink each. Our goal in paying extra for the buffet, especially on this day, was so we could avoid the expensive and not as healthy food at the airport and on the plane for our trip back to Ohio.
nice room, good beds. not centrally located, but very convenient to reach by car from airport. Take nearby bus or cable car to city. Lots of good eating options just around the corner on Polk st.
breakfast somewhat expensive considering what was offered at the buffet
Staff helpful Food in restaurant lovely tho a little expensive
Pool cold One washing machine and one tumble dryer only ! Couldnt see the bridge !!
- Nice staff; - Quiet room; - Loved the bed and the quality of sleep; - Good view over the western part of Van Ness Av; - had a restaurant the served all meals including breakfast. - It is really close to starbucks and Van Ness av. has plenty of dinners and restaurants.
- Overly priced for a "normal" hotel; - The facilities were good but nothing special; - Booking price did not include city tax neither tax. - Restaurant is over pricey. We paid the breakfast buffet and it was around 18usd each.
Everyone, and we mean everyone working at this hotel are top notch. Always friendly and helpful. They enjoy their work and it shows.
Staff were very kind and helpful
The air condition was very noisy. Parking very expensive
everything we had no cold water in the room and they were in our room trying to fix it until 1pm instead of moving us and they still didn't get it fixed. they said they were going to move us the next day and didn't and we still had no cold water. the manager gave us our breakfast and room service free but according to the book in the room if you are not satisfied its free again a lie I will never stay there again.
