location is not bad, near enterprise,
car-parking is expensive, USD 45
cannot get distilled water at late night after gym closed. if the hotel could provide bottled water at the front desk, it would be so great. carpark fare is a bit expensive as it charges around USD45 per night.
Fairly easy access from the airport. Easy travel up and down Market (tram of on foot). Nice walking distance to Hights Valley (large choice of nice places to eat).
The location of the hotel itself is rather poor, simply not a nice neighbourhood. Little choice for dining in the immediate vicinity. I found the hotel pricey for the location, but maybe SF is on the pricey side in general - you need to make your own judgement on that.
Hotel itself very pleasant Staff very helpful although when asked for milk to put in my tea I was brought "coat hangers" ???
The hotel was surrounded by dropouts, drunks and druggies. People going trough bins for food and begging it stank of urine and we daren't go out after dark. It was a makeshift tent area
The staff was very helpful.
There was no breakfast, although I had been led to expect it. The in room coffee provided was only one small cup per person.
Very comfortable room and nice beds
Rude receptionist who was very impolite as we were trying to split our bill . Plan to report her.
Location. Too many homeless people and too far from Pier 39 etc.
Very helpful and friendly staff and overall a nice hotel.
Parking was expensive and the location was in a not very nice area which is a shame as the actual hotel is quite nice. The pool wasn't very clean (I noticed too late) and both my kids got a skin reaction after going in it.
no refrigerator, no breakfast,no change for coin laundry,
The staff is super helpful and kind.
The elevators are never sure where they are going.
Location, friendly staff, breakfests
Permanent building nearby
Everything was fine except the expensive price for parking!
I didn't like the $42.00 parking
Relatively Well situated in center of SF
Noisy, smelly room. Small, Windows with tears in the walls so they didnt close well enough to shut out THE kitchen smells and noise from down below. Very expensive for what you get.
Proximity to the Orpheum Theater
Construction noise at 7 am (so that's what the earplugs were for!). Would have been nice to be forewarned
i was in for one night (for business)and had to go to Pleasanton overnight before returning for a booked(and i believe paid for leisure) week long stay... the lady at the front desk said it was not policy to keep my big bags overnight in storage (i am on a three month travel so i asked please they are very heavy and it is only 1 night) i think her name was Arja...and she went out of her way to seek special approval for this...I was very grateful and today I will return for a week... if this was not offerred i would cancel the week and go to the hotel i stayed in three weeks ago(Pickwick set up by the agent) and i would never use Holiday Inn again...however now I am grateful and do understand the policy and would expect it but i did appreciate my exceptional exception... her professional approach meant that I was not upset to find it was not policy and was very happy to see she sought approval from management, thanks i will be using you alot
the next day when i told the morning bags guys they got upset about it and i did not feel good about that... BUT...they did take care of it so I really appreciate it was looked after...
The staff were friendly.
It was very cold in our room and we couldn't adjust the ac - the sliding door to balcony was broken and wouldn't close. There was a lot of traffic noise especially with the broken window. The photo of pool in booking advert is not of that hotel. The reality is very small, enclosed and no view.
When we landed in SFO we landed in a wrong hotel near Eddy st and we checked out and we tried booking here at Holiday. Staff Ana and team of her staff were, understood our problem and did what she can to comfort us and give us a peace of mind. Thank u guys
The location was probably the only thing I can honestly say was the best part of staying here.
First of all our room had only one bed when we had booked a room with two separate double beds. We were then given a room with one double bed with a fold out settee which was really uncomfortable. I was travelling with my sister and the front desk attendant admitted "presumption can be a mistake". This hotel is probably one of the more expensive hotels I have ever stayed in (and I travel a lot). If I was to rate rate it in terms of value for money I would have to give it a zero. Powdered milk for your coffee when you spend this type of money and no refrigerator in the room, come on...... The fact they leave "sleeping aids" (industrial ear plugs) in your room should tell you not to stop here!! Also, at nearly $50 per day just to park???
Nice beds Nice room Good service Close to transportation
Sketchy location Slow wifi no refrigerator in room High Price
Location is a little bit far to the center by walking. Along the way from the center there are lots of homeless. The roads smell very bad
Friendly staff.good wifi. 10-15$ taxi to fishermans wharf.
Pool was not heated. Street corner outside had some interesting characters.
The Holiday Inn provided all of the basic comforts we needed for this trip. Being close to the corner of 8th Avenue, it is handy to many of the MUNI buses and trolleys that run up and down Market Street, as well as being close to the BART underground train. More of the action happens from 4th down to the Pier, but we never waited long to get where we needed to go. Beds were comfy and shower pressure and heigh was good.
There are a lot of homeless people on Market Street, but it wasn't off putting. We never found them to be a problem, but just something to be mindful of. We were in the room that backed on to the elevator, but were provided with earplugs for sleeping. There are not heaps of places for dinner around the hotel. We arrived after driving from Santa Barbara and were very surprised at how much it cost to park our car for less than 12 hours, $42! But maybe that is normal for the USA. Make sure you take your ticket to the front desk, not the ticket machine.
Big bed, balcony. Well connected with public transport (trams, buses etc.). Tea/coffee in room.
Location was okayish however, it was a bit far from "downtown". Not much around the hotel to see/restaurants. No hotel restaurant nor room service after 9pm!
