Proximity to the Orpheum Theater
Construction noise at 7 am (so that's what the earplugs were for!). Would have been nice to be forewarned
i was in for one night (for business)and had to go to Pleasanton overnight before returning for a booked(and i believe paid for leisure) week long stay... the lady at the front desk said it was not policy to keep my big bags overnight in storage (i am on a three month travel so i asked please they are very heavy and it is only 1 night) i think her name was Arja...and she went out of her way to seek special approval for this...I was very grateful and today I will return for a week... if this was not offerred i would cancel the week and go to the hotel i stayed in three weeks ago(Pickwick set up by the agent) and i would never use Holiday Inn again...however now I am grateful and do understand the policy and would expect it but i did appreciate my exceptional exception... her professional approach meant that I was not upset to find it was not policy and was very happy to see she sought approval from management, thanks i will be using you alot
the next day when i told the morning bags guys they got upset about it and i did not feel good about that... BUT...they did take care of it so I really appreciate it was looked after...

The Holiday Inn provided all of the basic comforts we needed for this trip. Being close to the corner of 8th Avenue, it is handy to many of the MUNI buses and trolleys that run up and down Market Street, as well as being close to the BART underground train. More of the action happens from 4th down to the Pier, but we never waited long to get where we needed to go. Beds were comfy and shower pressure and heigh was good.
There are a lot of homeless people on Market Street, but it wasn't off putting. We never found them to be a problem, but just something to be mindful of. We were in the room that backed on to the elevator, but were provided with earplugs for sleeping. There are not heaps of places for dinner around the hotel. We arrived after driving from Santa Barbara and were very surprised at how much it cost to park our car for less than 12 hours, $42! But maybe that is normal for the USA. Make sure you take your ticket to the front desk, not the ticket machine.
Big bed, balcony. Well connected with public transport (trams, buses etc.). Tea/coffee in room.
Location was okayish however, it was a bit far from "downtown". Not much around the hotel to see/restaurants. No hotel restaurant nor room service after 9pm!
Lobby was very up to date and left the impression the total experience would be great. The breakfast was decent
1) Saying $42 is competitive rate still doesn't take away from that is a LOT of money to park a rental vehicle 2) being threatened to bring back the luggage cart when 3 more were outside but locked up is no way to handle check ins 3) it is absolutely unacceptable for there to not be a single microwave available to pop the popcorn we had to walk 2 blocks to get past one of the great "medical" marijuana establishments. I would prefer not to have to take my kids past that. Thanks for no warning. 4) The pool deck is atrocious... so much more could be done. The rotting wood on the planters was a nice touch as well. 5) When I made the reservation with "booking.com" i inputted that there we 2 adults and 2 children. I was offered and option to pay an extra $60 to add breakfast for the stay. When I got to the front desk I was told I would receive only 2 passes per day, not 4. This isn't a kids under 12 eat free thing, I used the drop down menus to put in the ages of 14 and 16 of my daughters. 6) we had 4 people in the room, I booked 4 people in the room and housekeeping continually gave us 2 towels when room service was done. So we would need to continually ask for more towels. I have designed and furnished numerous Holiday Inns, Holiday Inn Express's, Candelwoods, Indigos, etc in my career... Worked directly with IHG. I am surprised this property is in the condition it is in... someone must be getting paid off. I've done Comfort Inns and Best Westerns that would blow this place away... The worst $1000 I have spent in a loooooooong time.
Room was not what I payed for. I had to speak to several different people to get the room I had booked.
Het hotel zelf is prima; typisch Holliday Inn. You know what you get.
De locatie. Veel daklozen in de buurt. Je moet Market Street aflopen en dan kom je bij veel en mooie winkels.

The room was very comfortable and clean. There were no ugly smells. The location is great and close to transportation.
The parking was a bit pricey. The room was also a bit priced. In comparison to other hotels for about the same price, this room had some old furniture with no fridge or microwave. Still the room was comfortable and very clean.
The cleanliness was great.
The staff was awful. They treated us poorly and were very unprofessional. When asked if we could get some help with our bags the guy stood on the other side of the room and we had to carry our bags to him. Also, we were also treated poorly by management. My daughter is disabled and was treated awful because of it. When I reported this to corporate they said they would look into it and get back with me. I never got a reply. I encourage anyone to think twice before booking a room with them.
I can access Moscone Center by walk. Distance is good for walking.
Too many homeless were around the hotel. No good restaurant around hotel. Too noisy in the night by Police car Siren.
They gave me a room that I didn't book. I also wasn't able to leave because the parade blocked me in.
I liked the pool and the location was convenient for the gay pride festival.
I didnt like that no one informed us our vehicle would be stuck in the hotel on Sunday that the parade was on and so we had no choice but to leave back to LA until the parade was over.
The rank and file staff at the Holiday Inn were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was clean and had all the appropriate comfort features I would expect at a hotel.
The invoice presented by Holiday Inn towards the end of the stay did not match up with my Booking.com rate. They did eventually correct it, which I appreciated. Also, there is no reason except for the location during SF Pride that this hotel needed to be so expensive.

what you expect from holiday inn very clean ,tidy
do not stay at this hotel it is in what the manager calls urban. read his replies . the area is full of drunks beggers and drugs . we opened our room curtains to see a girl injecting herself we had a room overlooking an empty car park. 25 years married and I take my wife to that
The hotel was nice and clean. The bed land pillows were ovely and comfy. Chambermaids and other staff were very nice too!
The location was dreadful. We didn't feel safe going out at nights as from about 5pm it seemed every homeless person in the city slept towards the part of Market street where the hotel was located nearby. They didn't bother us though some gently asked for money which we were happy to give as we felt so sorry for them but it put a damper on t he holiday.
