Not to far to walk to beach. Great chairs and umbrellas on beach. Great tiki bar and servers.
Close to Casa Ybel where we spent most of our time. Next time this will be my choice: Casa Ybel
The fence around the Tiki bar.... The pool is like a little hole in the ground, the poor quality in general.
Facilities were clean--coming from the North a little concerned about mosquitos and no-see-ems. Room was comfortable. Front desk staff was great. We were sorry we didn't go to the beach until the last day, great view!!!
Love the location. Beautiful beach and the hotel is quiet, but family friendly.
I have nothing negative to say about this place.
That a week goes by to quickly
Beautiful scenery. Makes things perfect when the lawn chairs and umbrella is set up on the beach
I was expecting the couch that was in the picture that i had booked on line. Just a regular room. Also it was hard to find a parking spot in front of my room.
Good location, good staff,
The restaurant was ok, expensive. Pool area was amazing just the drinks was with a little alcohol for 9 dollars, they need more umbrellas for the beach.
The environment was quiet and the atmosphere restful.
The facilities looked dated and past their prime. It had that worn look and not what I was expecting. I must confess I was a bit disappointed.
This is a motel style hotel and excellent for short stays in a fantastic location. The restaurant/bar was also good so you don't need go far.
Beach bar only served chilled house wine no others.
exceptional location with direct beach access. Although Sanibel Island is a very pricy place on earth, the hotel delivers value for money. This is primarily a motel, not a resort - nevertheless the garden is nice and the pool area well maintained.
Proximity to beach, clean, staff was excellent
Everything, the beachbar, restaurant en mostly the beachfacilities.
Stay was to short!
Your restaurant fair was absolutely wonderful. My wife and I enjoyed two great meals at dinner and would recommend your Star Grille to all of my friends and associates.
This is a great location for everything. Quiet. Close to nice shops, excellent restaurants and fabulous beach. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was large and bed/pillows comfortable.
The coffee was not a quality I was accustom to.
NOTHING!! Except that we couldn't spend more than 2 days there!
Everything was exelent.

Not much to do round it. Needed to drive to other shops restaurants etc
Beautiful location!!! The sea water is all very brown and muddy looking! Tons of shells on the beach, great for walking and collecting.
Cheap sixties motel, if you open your room curtains everybody passes can see inside your room. The walls of the room was paper thin so that you can hear the guy next door snoring at night and when the person in the next room moves you can feel your headboard shake as well. The pool is tiny and the beach would be nice if the hotel would provide umbrellas even on the most hottest of days(not windy)! The star grille restaurant in the hotel is overpriced, the food average and the staff unattentive.
This is the 2nd year my girlfriends and I have treated ourselves to a night on Sanibel. We hope to continue this new tradition.
It would be nice for locals to get some sort of discount during the off season.
Loved the area. food, and drinks. The water was perfect. No excursions on this trip. Just relaxation for couples.
The mosquitos and "no-seeum" are insane. Bring repellant or Downey dryer sheets to repel biting insects.
There are no good things about the guestrooms.
We stayed in room #131 one night and promptly left the next day. The hotel itself is situated extremely far from the beach, the guestrooms are tiny and old. They look like someone tried to dress them up with crown molding, but the bed mattress was lumpy and tired, the pillows were so stiff I thought my neck was broken after one night. The shower rod had obviously been replaced and looks like they poorly fixed cracks on the wall around it with a bad sheetrock mud job. The room safe was inoperable due to a missing key. The furniture is old and tired looking and the noseeum bugs were everywhere.
The beach, Sanibel is beautiful. The chairs and umbrellas availables. The Tiki Bar is a great idea, but it's very basic. The staff is a little rude, but the barman in the restaurant is very, very friendly.
Very expensive! because of we were in Labor Day they charged us double price of a regular night! Im genius Booking member and I put the reservation with enough time to get a better room location, but the hotel didn't pay attention to that. The hotel is old and need renovations, AC is noise. We were alert about the mosquitos in advance by the front desk staff. They had to fumigate the area. The Tiki Bar is a great idea, but the staff is rude and the variation of the food and beverages is limited, besides it close early, very early. No lights in the night in the outdoor area and beach. It has a beautiful outdoor area and nothing to enjoy.
We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the tile floors. The beds were good sized too.
Restaurant prices were way too high based on the info book in the room; didn't even bother going. $10 for one pancake, $4 extra if you want to add a piece of bacon
Excellent location. Excellent out door facilities. Restaurant on site was good food but expensive. Enjoyed free umbrella on beach.
Rooms are small. No comfortable seating. Cannot get up at night and read without waking my wife. Would suggest remove one queen size bed, put up 5 foot screen in place of bed with comfortable chair and reading light.
