within walking distance to most attractions and restaurants and across the street from the Peabody ducks which is a must to see.
The staff were very nice but need to brush up on their knowledge of the things to do and how to get there.
Although we had to wait for our room, the registration staff were very friendly. Our Porter, Jessie, was the best. Very friendly, helpful with suggestions on places to dine and bars to visit. He highly recommended the Café Blue Café for ribs and he was bang on - great place, busy and only had to wait a few minutes to get in. This is a great place to go and it is walking distance from the hotel, as is Beale Street. Excellent location - directly across from the Peabody Hotel and 2 blocks from the action on Beale Street. We lucked out with this one. Daniel, valet was extremely helpful as well. As two women travelling we felt very safe and glad we received the information from these two gentlemen.
Service in the restaurant for breakfast was great but we both had omelets and unfortunately they were drenched in butter so we weren't able to eat them. Our room was very nice, but we were right across from the ice machine and near the elevator. It was fine for one night but would not have liked it for any length of time. The walls are very thin as well so sound really carried.
Location, clean room, comfortable
Ad Said Continental Breakfast was included but had to pay for on site had to go to Denny's next door, I didn't like the 20 dollar valet fee
Comfy beds, efficient house cleaning.
No airport shuttle even though one was advertised. Elevators worked poorly.
ice machine being in hall-could hear late at night/early morning
We walked out the front door to the corner and 2 blocks down to Beal Street, every night! There was so much entertainment going on - street performers, motorcycle shoe, etc. We especially like the Blues City Café (2 nites). We enjoyed the "duck marching" at the Peabody right across the street from the Holiday Inn. And the yummy ribs @ the Rendevous down the alley. Took tour buses from the hotel to Graceland and other sites!! Great service.
Only snafu was we didn't have 2 washcloths and 2 hand towels in our room one night.
Staff was awesome! They were very polite, kind, and courteous. Room was clean.
Bed slept terribly. Room was very overpriced. Needs more amenities for guest.
Newly renovated Location Close to all Beal St fun
Parking 20$/day per car Pool only has sun in AM Local taxes are killer 2 night stay with parking and taxes was about 100$ more than just 2 nights room rate.
location parking has room service
wifi can be slow
Everything was great! Will definitely stay here for future trips.
The location was great and staff seems nice.
The hotel is not worth what was paid. The valet is not good and def not worth $20 but you have to use them.
This was the second time we had stayed at this hotel, the first was in September 2012. On both occasions the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is well placed for attractions such as Beale Street and Sun Studios is in Union Street, just down the road. The addition of the new coffee shop is a welcome development.
During our last visit, the elevators at this hotel were very unreliable. They would simply stop at a given floor, short of the one required and, frankly, in a 14 storey property, having an elevator simply come to a shuddering halt on the 11th floor didn't inspire confidence. They were however being worked on throughout our stay so we thought that two-years-later the problems would have been solved - we were entirely wrong. On the first night of this visit my wife left me waiting in the bar whilst she went up to get something from our room on the 10th floor. She returned incredibly shaken as the elevator (the same one that was problematic when we stayed two years ago) had refused to stop at the floor requested but had randomly gone up-and-down to different floors, stopping at each but refusing to open the doors until, finally it stopped at the 8th floor and let her out. She was, understandably, distressed by this experience. The elevators still didn't seem to be working properly two days later when we checked out. Overall, the people are great but this is an old and tired property that is in serious need of redecoration and refurbishment. For example, the hanging rack in our room was loose from the wall and the very old-fashioned air conditioning unit was extremely noisy. Finally, whilst, overall the staff were terrific, on our second day we returned to find that the person servicing the room hadn't finished making the bed or provided any hand-towels.
The location was great, staff was good. The breakfast was excellent. All around great trip.
The view was a old building. Also the pool.
Staff friendly & helpful. Location was good.
Small double beds. No laundry.
Wonderful hospitality from the moment we walked in. The room was nice and clean, location was perfect since our primary purpose for this stop was to visit Beale Street. It was really the warm welcome and caring attitude of the staff that stood out and made this stop memorable for us.
Friendly staff especially Cedric and Trina Very good location Comfortable bed Bathroom satisfactory although small
Lack of air conditioning in lobby and bar area Very basic breakfast/dining area Our room wasn't made up one day and presumably housekeeping put the do not disturb on our door (we definitely did not!) No fridge or safe in room Very slow elevators Fitness centre lacked airconditioning Swimming pool surrounds in need of facelift Wifi quite slow
Close to everything we wanted to see.
Being forced to use valet parking.
The location in Memphis The swimming pool
Our room was not cleaned. Very slow elevators: long waiting times
Location was great!
Average staff service, rooms are small and dated.
There was nothing at all negative about our stay here. All our needs we're met by a professional and friendly staff. The room was new and clean and we also felt good about our choice because the hotel was located within walking distance to everything downtown has to offer.
The staff was wonderful and we loved that the pool was heated. This was a perfect location for us to walk to Beale St. And other attractions.
I think it is a bit too pricey.
Easy to get to all attractions whether on foot or by car.
The hotel is nicely located right in the center of the town, the rooms are nice and comfy the beds are nice.
The staff isn't very friendly, small thing but the elevators are incredibly slow (!), and finally they were going to have us pay for breakfast (28 dollars!), so we complained at the reception, and the only thing she could do was give us a 20-dollar voucher for breakfast. Not exactly what I call breakfast included...
