Due to fire..we had to wait to check. We were very tired. We were not compensated..just staff said they were sorry. We missed dinner reservations
Location to City walk, Universal Studios was great!
1) The printer in the business centre wasn't working and when we asked for help, we were told that we needed to wait about 2 hours! 2) the guy trying to sell us the idea of visiting another Holiday Inn the next day was relentless even though I told him we were flying out! He didn't care what I had to say so we just walked away. 3) the room's carpet outside the bathroom was wet!
Great value for money. Very nice suite. Made a pleasant change to have plenty of space. You can fall out of TGI Fridays which is fantastic. A very pleasant walk to Universal studios. I would definitely return here.
Shuttle a little irregular and finished early. It didn't matter because its quite an easy to moderate walk.
The room was nice. Walls are pretty sound proof, we only heard people's doors slam and a few people in the hallway. It is very easy to find. Restaurant attached to the hotel that makes deliveries.
I reserved a king size bed online, but when they went to check me in they said they didn't have any king size bed rooms available and that nothing showed I reserved a king. Tenth anniversary and they try to split us up. She said they had a cancelation and it would be open an hour and a half after check in time. After awhile on the computer she said they had one on the first floor then, so we took it. What I don't understand is how they have the option to select beds when reserving online, but then they don't annotate it to them and if they don't have any left wont/can't honor it.
My husband had already stayed here once so the choice was an easy one; besides the hotel had a good price, great location, free parking space and availability! We stayed here for a week. We had a room in the 8th floor overlooking Kirkman Rd, right across from Universal. When we arrived, a very polite and attentive lady greeted us in the Reception and checked us in, it was December 24th, and air was very festive and cheerful. The room was amazingly big, very comfortable, with two large queen beds, many super soft pillows, a very nice carpet that covered the whole room floor and a view that allowed us to see clearly the fireworks of Universal every night at 10pm. There was also a fridge and a microwave, and complimentary coffee (regular and decaf) and tea –which was refilled daily-. The bathroom had the exact needed space: it was not small nor large, with one sink, a little table around it to put stuff on (like shampoos, hair conditioning, body lotion, toothpaste and toothbrush, etc.), hair dryer, very good lighting and a bathtub. Towels were not so large and tried to be cozy, and there were plenty with different sizes. The room was always very clean, and they refilled shampoos, soaps, etc. on a daily basis. All the staff of the hotel were very respectful, attentive and proactive towards helping guests. In the Lobby you could find a shop that sold food (chocolates, fruits, cakes and pudins, sandwiches, etc.), beverages and memorabilia (souvenirs, t-shirts, toys, etc.). The hotel is connected to a TGI Fridays located in the corner and for USD 10 you can have breakfast there (otherwise, breakfast is NOT included in the hotel rate). The TGI Fridays is opened from early morning to late nights, so we had dinner there occasionally. The hotel also provides a list with addresses and telephones of a variety of close by restaurants with delivery.
What we found odd is that there was no safe in the room. When we requested one, they showed us to a security area, where there were security boxes (like the ones you would find in a bank, which were opened by combining two keys: one they gave the guest and another one the security staff kept). Last but not least, if you lost your key they charged USD 150.-
My card was charged twice but they corrected their error quickly
The staff is rude!!! The room was very dusty and dirty!! I had made reservations for a king bed and they gave me a double in a SMOKING room and I have a little 10 yr old girl. The shuttle was a mess the driver did not want to bring us back from the park after we had made the reservation to do so. It was a big mess!!!!!!!!!
nice room, good location
breakfast buffet not well staffed, frequently ran out of stuff
Booked a non-smoking and received a smoking, they switched us into a non-smoking. Very helpful.
Bathrooms are too small for such a large nice room. No space to get ready.
close to parks
The location is convenient for travelers going to Universal Studios!
No option for early check-in. The maids were slamming the doors to the rooms around 8am making in imbearable to sleep. Was asked 3 times within 20mins if wanted house keeping with a knock on the door.
Very conveniently located, check out was a breeze the included breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were clean, spacious and stylish. Everyone was courteous and polite.
I did not like that check in was a little difficult because we could not find a cart and had many bags.
We couldn't open the window, therefore the air wasn't fresh.
Everything, the staff was great and very helpfull and friendly. Great value for being so close to Universal parks as well as many other things to do in orlando. Looking forward to staying there again.
The staff was extremely nice and knowledgeable and the location was perfect. Pool was good, always heated.
We could not adjust the air, just could turn off, room with six and we only had a one cup coffee maker and only had one bag of coffee (decaff). Had refrig but no ice (ice trays) and didn't have a ice bucket. The controller to one of the TVs didn't work and a lamp didn't work. Price was high for these kind of issues.
Walking distance from Universal parks
The hotel seems a bit old, there is too much noise all around
1. queues at checkin /checkout 2. delay in storing and retrieving baggage 3. noisy air condtioner
Was upgraded to a suite. The beds were great
Trying to pay at the front desk with travelers checks. They did not have a glue how to cash them in. Think the front desk staff needs to be retrained in this matter.
Excellent Taxi Service Comfortable bedding No charge for parking
This Hotel is directly across the street from the them park so u can walk and save money the hotel is only a few miles away from shopping outlets. The staff is very friendly and helpful!!
I purchased this hotel and it stated that it has free breakfast included in the price...well that was not true the breakfast is $10.00 at tgi Fridays that connected to the hotel.
Longer walk to Universal than expected.
The cooked eggs and meat were OK.
The rest was a disaster. This facility is handled by TGIF for Holiday Inn. TGIF are absolutely clueless about how to do breakfast. Apparently they only have one other facility like this in the world. No proper table setting, no cereal (they had run out and didnt have for 2 days!!). Staff and Manager incredibly rude.
