My husband had already stayed here once so the choice was an easy one; besides the hotel had a good price, great location, free parking space and availability!
We stayed here for a week. We had a room in the 8th floor overlooking Kirkman Rd, right across from Universal. When we arrived, a very polite and attentive lady greeted us in the Reception and checked us in, it was December 24th, and air was very festive and cheerful.
The room was amazingly big, very comfortable, with two large queen beds, many super soft pillows, a very nice carpet that covered the whole room floor and a view that allowed us to see clearly the fireworks of Universal every night at 10pm. There was also a fridge and a microwave, and complimentary coffee (regular and decaf) and tea –which was refilled daily-.
The bathroom had the exact needed space: it was not small nor large, with one sink, a little table around it to put stuff on (like shampoos, hair conditioning, body lotion, toothpaste and toothbrush, etc.), hair dryer, very good lighting and a bathtub. Towels were not so large and tried to be cozy, and there were plenty with different sizes.
The room was always very clean, and they refilled shampoos, soaps, etc. on a daily basis.
All the staff of the hotel were very respectful, attentive and proactive towards helping guests.
In the Lobby you could find a shop that sold food (chocolates, fruits, cakes and pudins, sandwiches, etc.), beverages and memorabilia (souvenirs, t-shirts, toys, etc.).
The hotel is connected to a TGI Fridays located in the corner and for USD 10 you can have breakfast there (otherwise, breakfast is NOT included in the hotel rate). The TGI Fridays is opened from early morning to late nights, so we had dinner there occasionally.
The hotel also provides a list with addresses and telephones of a variety of close by restaurants with delivery.
What we found odd is that there was no safe in the room. When we requested one, they showed us to a security area, where there were security boxes (like the ones you would find in a bank, which were opened by combining two keys: one they gave the guest and another one the security staff kept). Last but not least, if you lost your key they charged USD 150.-
