Nope, nothing I didnt like.
Location is great as the neighbourhood felt safe at night but was also still full of bars. Supermarket a short walk away. Also very close to Division blue/station (direct from airport and then only a few stops to downtown). Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Never had to queue for a bathroom. Rooms/corridors/bathrooms clean, common area large and clean. Breakfast was a decent spread, mainly bagels, but you could have as much as you wanted. Not a party hostel but everyone was very friendly. Wifi never had problems.
This wasn't a huge problem for me because I had a short stay but the lounge/kitchen area could use a little more improvements.
Awesome location and super friendly/helpful staff. Overall it had a good vibe.
The price and proximity to bus lines and downtown... I've never heard of a place like this but I will take advantage of it from now on. Holiday Jones has a definite return customer in me. You guys rock!
great staff, good wifi, nice hot showers, close to the train, in a great location for bars, restaurants and shopping. They could definitely be charging a lot more, it's serious value for money
A bit quiet if you're looking for a more social vibe.
Free breakfast. Good shower.
kitchen in the room
The hostel does not provide wash cloths to wash up with ONLY A TOWEL. How do you expect us to wash our bodies?? I hated the fact my company wasn't allowed in my room. I went to visit my boyfriend and he couldn't even come to my room, I hated that!
Nice hostel. Quiet, nice, clean, great area. Near transportation and other major stores. My two roommates were awesome. The staff was pretty friendly.
Sound insulation of the rooms need to improve
Staffs are nice~ Room is clean. And like the common room.
It was a bit noisy
The place was very clean
a little cold on first floor. breakfast keeps same everyday(bagel and cereal)
good wifi, nice staff, close to blue line(division)
My only criticism is that the walls were a little thin so you could hear things going on in the other room. At night this was a problem with people coming in and out late and with couples enjoying each other's company.......
It was incredibly clean, great location, brilliant common room area and had wonderfully helpful staff.
I was under the impression that planned activities, social gatherings and tours were included. I wasn't aware of any such things, although we did visit in the winter, so not sure if that impacts what's available. Still had a great time in Chicago!
The atmosphere was fresh and hip, very clean. In a great neighbourhood, close to transit systems.
The common spaces could be a bit nicer
Really good: price, easy to get from downtown and very comfortable
The owner dislike my oppinion about policing in america, and suggested either I shut up or leave.
From the look, the owner of this hotel loves music. Indeed, the receptionist told me on early arrival everything there is to know about music and bars around, and helped me to lay my luggage by them.
The free breakfast was good, there were several choices. The location is only 10 minutes on the train downtown.
Quilt is too thin
Close to subway station,clean,nice staff
MORE OPTIONS FOR BREAKFAST WOULD BE PREFERABLE
FREE BREAKFAST. FREE WIFI. FREE LINENS. FREE TOWEL. FANTASTIC LOCATION. CLOSE PROXIMITY TO BLUE LINE. CLEAN MODERN ACCOMODATIONS.
Some staff friendlier than others.
We arrived early so we dropped our bags & went to explore; when we returned our bags had been taken to our room which was very kind & helpful especially as there are a couple flights of stairs. Th room was clean & decor looked fresh. We were very comfortable & warm & had no problems sleeping as the place as quiet. Location is good; the train is only down the road & there are places to eat nearby. Good value for money & would recommend if on a budget.
Very small the room, though I know that it was because of the low cost ($48 per night). The breakfast should be more diverse, it is the same all the days.
The cost. The free breakfast. It is very close to the train. It is near to the main landmarks in Chicago.
- location - facilities - surrounding
Had a great time at Holiday Jones. Staff was friendly and the hostel itself was in a good location close to the train station. Bed was comfortable and room and bathrooms were clean. Hostel has a very cool and hipster feeling which I loved! Highly recommended!
Not a thing!
The walls are paper thin so if you have loud, obnoxious neighbors, you'll hear them all night long.
Great location, close to the blue line. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms very clean and spacious. We loved the view we got from our window. I highly recommend this place.
I left my luggage after I checked out and went wandering around downtown. However, when I was back, there are no staff at the counter and I was locked outside the public door (which was usually not locked before). I rang the doorbell, but the staff answered said he'll be back in a few minutes. It was raining outside, which made me a bit upset. Fortunately, another staff just came from outside and let me in. I would suggest they have at least two staffs at the counter so that if one is absent there's another one that can help the customers.
-clean bathroom -nice bed (doesn't shake easily) -staffs are nice -breakfast is ok (not great, but seriously what would you expect more from a hostel?) -location is good: 3 min from subway, several bars nearby, Starbucks next door, and pretty quiet at night
