Very hot in room One very loud snorer Shared rooms
Excellent place, fun and funky! My girls thought I was a cool mom for choosing it!!
I really like this hostel, I had a great time here; they are really kind and they help you in everything you need. Clean, comfortable, cheap and cool. It is good for young people who want some fun. There are games, tv, kitchen and fridge in the lobby for everybody. It is a really good choice if you want to spend Great time in Chicago, close to the city centre and two blocks from the subway.
-The decor -Very helpful staff
-Wi-Fi was spotty -The A/C was too cold
almost all are ok!
no lift. took us really trouble to deliver the heavy luggages.
Location is good, near the metro, or you can ride a bike to the city centre. Very clean and they offer complimentary breakfast.
Nice staff and neighbourhood, good wifi and beds.
Breakfast was pretty much just sugar. The room was also quite noisy. We could hear people snoring in next room extremely well. Also some pretty misogynist music in lobby at the first day.
The place reeked of clean...in the best possible way. Not the kind of clean that smells of chemical cleansers, just, well, clean. Free wifi, free breakfast -- fresh bagels and assorted cereals. Helpful staff. Incredible rates. I stayed dorm style and never had to wait for the shared bath even though the place was pretty booked up. There are also private rooms.
It was all good, but I'm easy. If you're not ok with hostel accommodations, this wouldn't be the place for you.
Its a glorified college dorm. The "free breakfast" was Aldis cereal. Steel stiff bunkbeds. Poor a/c. Staff was rude.
Terrific location and unbeatable price. Amenities seekers, get over yourselves. Place is clean and safe and I live being able to open a window. Beds also comfortable.
Would be great to have that counter in lobby functional. Coffee? Beer? But since the neighborhood isn't bereft of these services, it isn't a problem. Alliance Bakery and Bangers and Lace are right there and are exceptional.
The decor and simplicity of rooms and facilities, with everything basic you may need when you travel. The bathrooms are good clean everyday, and breakfast included is really good for beginning the day before hitting the town ! It's really closed to the CTA and lots of interesting things to see. And you can store your luggage !
My first towel was really dirty, I had to request another one. The girl I let from the staff the first day was really enthusiastic and it was a pleasure, but the second day the guy at the desk wasn't really friendly and I had to argue during 10min to have him print a map for my trip... I think it would be good to put a sign near the CTA to know where to go to find it also.
The location is ideal and the street it is on has enough to keep you busy. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us with AC in the rooms.
The doors in the hall ways were constantly slamming which you can't blame the hostel for but it did keep us awake.
Have stayed here for 6 nights. Friendly and very helpful staff, nice kitchen area and free breakfas ( bagels/cereal/ +milk, coffee and tea - good for me for the fair price ( booked a dorm for 35 usd). Nice location- close to downtown and simple to ge to the airports, great bars in the neighbourhood and big supermarket.
Wi-fi was very weak the first day.
Good breakfast, great personnel and wonderful bathrooms.
You could not choose the temperature of your room. We found it little warm.
The location, the value for money, the staff and the cleanliness
Clean, quiet, safe and respectful atmosphere. Nice big commons room with a more entertainment than a hotel and more social guests.
Good location and recommendations Comfortable accommodation Friendly and helpful staff
Great location. Easy ride to union station. Cool artwork and design.
Thin walls. Wasn't a big deal with ear plugs though.
For economical lodging, my stay was very satisfying. No hassles. Great location. Everything was fine. Thanks Steve Fistell
great cool neighborhood that is more local than staying downtown.
no locks for the lockers
its so nice Mr Jones, and its convenience to go everywhere!
near the CTA Blue-line station. several grocery stores around the hotel, like a Jewel-Osco supermarket.
no writing desk & chair(sofa) in the room. it would be better to have a wash-hand basin in the room.
Safe and friendly!
The in-room 'lockers' are impossible to actually lock with a standard padlock.
