The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Even providing a map and advice on travelling...
The breakfast is not great.
Location was great very close to loads of transport links. Plenty of restaurants around. Staff were friendly. WiFi was really good. Nice building.
I stayed 3 nights. Loads of noise on two nights. I woke up 5 times at least. Every time someone shuts their door it woke me up. The heating system was from the ceiling so if you slept on the lower bed it was pretty cold however upper bed was warm. Room was a bit small.
Very clean room and helpful hotel staff
There is a little bit cold, but the staff provided a heater.
Staff is so friendly, the installations are great and comfy. Also shared bathrooms are always clean and there's a ton of them, so there was always an available shower. Wicker Park is a fun neighborhood with tons of places to go out to.
I loved the staff - suggested great food and shopping. The value was unbelievable-a great deal for the room WITH wifi and breakfast - AWESOME! They held my bags for the day allowing me to sightsee. I had never stayed at a hostile before, but I will definitely be back! I am so grateful I found them online, thank you for such a fabulous experience. I know where I'm staying next time I'm in Chicago!
Location is really good. Staffs are really kind. If I go to Chicago again, I will go this hostel again. The best hostel ever.
the woman check in staff person was very friendly positve happy...the place was spotless, and didn't seem busy and is very close to main public transport. Bagel Breakfast a thoughtful touch..yet should be set up in the upstairs cafe area where there is natural light:) if it's not being used as a coffee bar...there you could have a black board with what's happening in Chicago that day!
Place felt sterile...empty. There were no activities or board where you could see things, events to do. The advertisements make it look like a hip happening place...yet it appears the management is cool just keeping it like a hipster hotel. It doesn't take that much effort to hang a board and have a staff member write out what cool play or music is happening that day/night. Maybe musuems to visit...instead the one staff person mostly stares at their computer all day. Otherwise very decent place to crash.
1st that we love about the hotel is 2 blocks away from the subway..near to any cheap food and main Attraction places (such as the Bean/Adler Planetarium).. the hotel provide us a paper with all the recommended food stores..2nd thing that we love is when we're were lost in there..we found this awesome mexican food 2 blocks away from subway to the left.. it was superb.. but i forgot what does it called.. 3rd thing that ME AND MY SISTER LOVE IS the Staff in the hotel are super Friendly.. starting with J.J, Teal, Alfredo, and last but not least the awesome Ryan.. these people that you could rely on for Questions and accompany..
I needed to spend a night in Chicago on business on very short term and didn't want to spring for an expensive chain hotel near the airports or downtown. Holiday Jones was a great affordable option. Check in and Check Out were smooth and seamless, and they were happy to hold onto my baggage while I explored Chicago during the day after checking out. I took the train into Chicago and flew out of O'Hare. Holiday Jones is between the 2 on the Blue Line, so it was super convenient. Getting to O'Hare was super simple. The lobby had lots of comfortable seating and outlets and WiFi, great place to chill with your friends or just enjoy the hostel surroundings. The restaurants in the neighbourhood seem fantastic. The Deluxe Single Room was like a great no-frills hotel room. Nice washroom, comfy bunk bed and great amazing natural light. No frills stool and shelf against the wall to get some work done. WiFi worked well.
Room for Improvement: I ended up forgetting my shampoo on the train into Chicago, would be great if they had a wall dispenser of Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash. Added cost for them, but if they're already providing towels why not some cheap shampoo! Something to consider: No lifts/elevators in the building, and they have a narrow staircase. If you've got a lot of luggage it may be a pain to get it all the way up and all the way down. Fine for me, and I'm sure they'd help you out if you weren't up for it.
Employees were all really friendly, helped us whenever we had questions. The breakfast was really more than just bagels with cream cheese. There is a kitchen with everything you need to cook and also a tv and the possibility to play airhockey and soccer
staff are helpful
location welded frame bunk beds super solid and well made (custom stuff)
No attendance at front desk. I'm was waiting in cold weather some one to open the door more than 15 min. There message is not clear. no elevator if you are carrying luggage. Very noise from cardore waking people or noking the door for no reason. The bathroom is sharing. No services. No hit water or coffee. Not recommended at all. when you left the hotel they will detected some months from your card. If they don't want you to stay the will kick you. veeeeeeeeeeeery baaaaaaaaaad
I really liked the place, ubication, staff, decoration, etc. im sure you have some things to improve on, but i cant think of one, maybe something not sweet for breakfast. Thanks for all it was incredible, definitelty Will recommend and come back
very close to Division st, clean bathroom, good wifi, amazing free breakfast and helpful staffs. still I cannot believe why they are providing such an awesome accommodation with this price. You should stay at Holiday Johns!
everything as if all you need is a bed and somewhere to pitch yourself when touring chicago,it was awesome digs and supplied a continental b/f in price as well
just cueing for bathroom ,but not a major as there were others we could use
Everything. I chose it for the location and price, on those it was perfect... but there are so many other good things to say. My room was awesome and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Close to the subway.
Never cleaned in the room. / Overcharge

The Wicker Park location is one of the key advantages of this place. Very close to the Blue Line and walking distance to a number of interesting restaurants.
At the end of the day, it is a hostel, so the noise level is probably the most significant negative of the experience, even w. a private room. Expect noise from the other rooms all throughout the night. Also, not really enough bathrooms for the morning demand.
The location is perfect: direct train ride to and from O'Hare (40 minutes) and the loop (15 minutes), walking distance to lots of great restaurants and shops. Felt completely safe as a woman travelling alone and in Chicago for the first time. Clean and fairly spacious bathroom. Staff always present at the front desk and very friendly.
Slightly noisy in the morning and at night (you can hear everything going on in the corridor). Could do with more shelving/hooks in the rooms or something resembling a bedside table, as well as more plugs for the million things travellers often need to charge.
toilet area was really clean bed was surprisingly comfy parking was easy to find very friendly, easy going staff location was great!
a lot of dust in the room very small rooms
clean, cheap, beautiful room, good location, helpful staff, Breakfasts feels like you would be at home.
could be lift, we had big luggage and lived on third floor. You can hear everything what happens in your neighbors room, good that they were quite.
Well, the location for a start, it would have to say safer than most parts of Chicago, close to the blue line... The staff couldn't do enough, JJ & Alfredo were exceptional hosts, being an amputee, they both assisted my up the stairs, there were many, and were very congenial & sincere... Besides the people I were there to see, the staff at Holiday Jones made my short stay very hospitable... I would stay there again without a doubt...
There could have been a lift, but not having one didn't spoil my stay... Again, not Holiday Jones's fault, but my last night was a nightmare, due to teenage girls & boys raising the roof, banging doors & laughing loudly... Had to tell them to quit... On the whole, a great stay...
Friendly service (very warm welcome) Shops nearby Starbucks next door Metro blue line within 5 min walk (gets you almost anywhere) breakfast was simple but good
WiFi signal wasn't great in the room (very good in the public area's)
