Hollywood Historic Hotel    

Pros I was able to check in early. Jonah at the front desk was very helpful. The decor is fantastic. The old elevators are really cool. The bed was very comfortable and the air cond worked great. Close to many Hollywood spots and plenty of free parking. The hotel has the look as the type of place a 1920's gangster would stay in it's really cool. Cons A bit pricy 137.00 for the night. No phone in the room. The room is small as is the bathroom. The surrounding area not the greatest and lot of traffic. No continental breakfast or pool. No screens on the windows. It was a nice stay for 1 night but would look for a better value next time. All in all I give it a thumbs up for the nostalgia, the excellent front desk staff, and the comfortable bed. Fred H

Hotel has been refurbished nicely. Rooms are clean, well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpfull. Parking is easy which is very important. Free wi-fi a great bonus. The decor with the old pix and wood makes it a nice, nostalgic place.

Friendly and helpful staff. Free parking. Lovely foyer. Atmosphere. Value for money. Comfortable rooms. Buses leave from across the road. Car easier. Close enough to everything if driving car, which hotel organizes.

Internet wasn't working due to upgrading of system, which I'm sure is fixed by now.

Location and hotel's decorations were great.

The bathroom was not cleaned well. Tiles were kinda dirty. Ive noticed they did'nt clean the bathroom floor as well, when we left the room there were strands of hair on the floor, when we got back, they did change the towels but the hairs was still there, so i assumed they didnt even clean the floor and i thought they didnt even the bathtub, too.

Decoration is historic style, many Hollywood 70's and 80's famous stars' pictures in the wall of the corridor, the location is convenient to universal studio, Beverly Hills and etc.

Although they have wifi, but we can't use it due the weakness signal. The room is small, especially the bathroom. Old equipment that no telephone in the room.

Interesting renovation of an old hotel. Free parking. Friendly staff.

I stayed for one night and i have to say i don't have anything to complain. The building is indeed old but was not uncomfortable. I didn't noticed the bad things other people mentioned in the reviews such as bugs, funny smell, elevator not working. It had wireless, tv, AC in the room and parking. Great value for the money.

Free parking. So hard to find free parking in los angeles.

The breakfast. There's only 2 option, bread with berry jam or cereal. The fruit is only apple or banana.

-The decoration is very impressive. -It took me only 10 minutes to drive to Universal Studio. -The hotel customized map is very beautiful! I keep two and take back home! I already recommended this cozy hotel to ALL my friends!

I loved the building itself, and the staff, especially Michael was very kind and helpful during my entire stay. The view on the street side was of course wonderful and parking was plentiful; a rarity in Hollywood!

The staff was so nice and accommodating. The price was great for the comfort. The cafe/hair salon downstairs is the coolest ever!

the location was perfect, the staff was over the top. this is the first hotel that I have stayed at that felt more like someone's home. it was great. It's nice to know that from now on I won't have to search for a place to stay when i'm in los angeles. this is the only place for me. thanks again

there was nothing I didn't like

toilet is too close to the wall and it is very uncomfortable to use it It was much dust on the carpet after housekeepent

I liked the staff, the area the hotel was in, and the room that we had. The staff was very friendly and cool, and very informative. I really liked Michael, he was super nice!

I didn't like the mix of smoking and non smoking rooms on the same floor, the smoke filled the hallway, and there was no pool. Other than that it was great!

I liked the polite and helpful staff that worked here. I also liked the location, It is so near to Hollywood, if you are fast walkers.

The bed was not particularly comfy and the room smelled very old. I know it is meant to be a historic hotel but there is no reason to have that sort of smell. Last thing was because it does not have double glazing windows you can hear everything outside which is not good for light sleepers like myself.

Love the location. Love the view. The front desk was pleasant, very helpful. Loved the secured permit parking. Love the historic feel to the hotel.

Needs more waste baskets. Windows need cleaning because the view of the Hollywood sign and the Observatory is great but the dirty windows took away from that. Wish there were pen and pad in the room so I could have kept as a momento.

Room was good size, bed was ok. Fairly cheap for hollywood.

In a rough neighbourhood, hotel was very dated named historic hotel but only really to mask the fact it needs updating. Did not feel safe walking from the hotel at night.

Old Hollywood charm. Good location. Elevator works!

I liked that it was right next to Paramount studio and a short drive to Hollywood.

The water in our room didn't work. At one point there was no water to wash our hands and we could not flush the toilet. A half and hour later the water started miraculously running and than did the same thing again. This is a old hotel and we weren't really able to see the Hollywood sign like the other reviews said. We even asked the front desk for a non-smoking room with a view and our room smelt of smoke and had a view of buildings.
