Charming place, very nice staff.
No extra amenities. Nothing within walking distance.
The charm of the building.. The coffee shop next door... so convenient for me.. The staff was super nice and very helpful..
- Location is great, about 2 miles only from the Walk of Fame street - Quietness, it is not very close to any Freeway - Free Parking - WiFi is perfect - lots of historic pictures - Friendly staff
- Tiny room, restroom is a matchbox - The Bed : Flat pillows and thin blanket - No Microwave - Elevator is also tiny
Nice old hotel with view of Hollywood sign.paramount studios 5 minute walk away.room nice and wifi good
L A is a big spread out city so you need public transport to get about.the nearest underground station is about 1.5miles away we paid 25 dollars each for a card that gives you unlimited use so we caught a bus to the tube.a hotel near a tube station would help.but a very good value hotel
Stayed here for a Saturday night getaway for the Lana Del Rey concert at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which is about 1/2 a mile away on Santa Monica Blvd. For $100 for the night, it was a perfect place to stay and we walked to and from the concert venue. Clean, a bit outdated in some aspects, but clean and tidy is all we needed. Got a free upgrade to a suite because they were overbooked. Bathroom did look to be recently renovated as well. Would recommend this hotel if just visiting for a weekend from out of town and going to any events in the general area!
great value for Hollywood. Not far away from Paramount Studios and the the Hollywood Blvd. Also a very nice and classic building!
The room was clean, has A/C and a decent bathroom, the staff was polite . Concierge had some good recommendations about free things to do in the area such as beaches. Way cheaper then any other hotel in the area.
Beds are very uncomfortable. we both had back pain. The paid trips the concierge suggested were VERY overpriced
Clean and well maintained hotel with excellent service. Unique decor with historic pictures makes it a cultural experience. Parking was excellent.
The bed was quite uncomfortable - very hard. Far away from metro station.
I booked this hotel for location and low price. The lobby is very beautiful and Classy.
The hotel is very old. The wall was super thin. I couldn't sleep. The bed sheet was not clean. I felt itchy the next morning.
Property was clean, staff was friendly. Location was convenient for areas we wanted to visit. Free parking is a nice perk.
Hotel has minimal amenities, though advertised accurately. The street noise off Melrose can make sleeping a challenge, though we heard minimal noise from other guests.
This was our first time here and we LOVED it! Very charming, well kept, 1920's feel, everything was fantastic! Very clean, super friendly staff, the cafe was excellent, the elevator was quaint. I could go on and on. For the price we paid it was better than expected. Not a five star but it's clean, and well maintained. I would stay here again! The only slightly negative thing I would say is the beds are not super comfy but I still slept well. It can be loud with the windows open but was great for us with them closed. If you are bothered by noise then choose to face the parking lot.
Because of the widely varying reviews I will be as specific as possible. This hotel was built in the 1920s so it is not modern. As of October 2014 about half the rooms have been renovated. Ours was a king room and we were very happy with it. All the rooms facing the road have been double glazed. Noise was not an issue for us. The room is basic but comfortable. TV, aircon, fan, fridge, coffee maker. A cafe next door is good, there is also a Mexican cafe and the real winner is the Colombian restaurant. The number 10 bus outside and the 210 at the corner off Melrose and Vine will get you to the corner of Hollywood and vine or Somerset and vine. If you a car of course the location is even better. Paramount Studios is 5 mintes walk from the hotel.
There was nothing that I did not like.
Gentleman (unfortunately don't know his name) who checked us in was extremely helpful and knowledgable regarding the area. Recommended the farmers market to us which we thoughly enjoyed and went back more than once. The free car park was invaluable as parking can often be expensive in LA.
Hair dryer smoked on first use but was provided with a new one straight away by reception. Room key stopped letting us into our room on our last night but once again was rectified straight away when we went to reception.
They upgraded us to a non smoking queen with a small kitchen. Immediately, we checked in at 11:30am the kitchen was huge not small.
The kitchen lights didn't work. The silverware was broken. The alarm clock was broken. The drain in the shower was broken.
Staffs are so nice, everything clean, good price e good location.
Plenty of off road, free parking Very helpful staff Comfortable beds About 49 minutes walk from Hollywood walk of fame
Tired looking hotel
1. Receiption staff working during evening can only provide limited help. We needed one additional blanket, but the staff could only leave message to daytime staff. 2. The facility is really old, old carpet, small hand basin, small elevtor... 3. Close to Korea city and not convenient to buy things. 4. Do not have its own restaurant, so the guest have to take breakfast outside the hotel.
Noise from road can be loud
Car parking on site.
No bar. No restaurant. Air con unit behind curtain. Small bed.
Good location near Paramount Studios. Hollywood sign view from the hotel room. Free parking in a large parking lot next to the hotel. Great breakfast place just nex doors. Staff friendly and helped with booking sightseeing tours or visits to studios.
the price for night was good, having in count the prices in hollywood
a bit far from interest places one or two coffee shops close to hotel very lonely area at night
Yes, it's good hotel with good location, i like the hotel
I don't like one thing bathing tub is not allowed to use it.
Friendly and helpful staff at reception desk
Noisey fan in room
Nice Staff , very friendly Reception area was beautiful, free parking. Beds were comfortable, rooms are older but thats the charm of the hotel . Good wifi
Nothing I really enjoyed my stay
No staff on site overnight, no phone in room, no security overnight - anyone can walk in off the street & reach any floor. Not situated in a great part of Hollywood. Small rooms, tiny bathroom.
