We loved meeting and spending a little time with John and Charlotte, our hosts. This is just the sort of place we would come back to, comfortable, welcoming, and unpretentious. I won't be at all surprised if our younger daughter sends a follow-up email at some point.
It was Really amazing! Very beautiful You Really feel like beeing @ Home
Beautiful and convenient location; the Holmes do everything they can to make you comfortable and to provide information. A very special couple.
Tree frogs are a problem in Hilo and very loud all night; this takes some getting used to--but they're all over the Big Island. (sound like chirping birds)
We rented the room with two beds, bathroom was big and had two basins.
The mattresses were a bit dated. Not very comfortable. Breakfast were disappointing, fruits from cans, cereals were dampened. Wifi was not very stable.
We liked the location. It was up the hill a little ways from the town, yet easy to access the main attractions of Hilo. John and Charlotte are a lovely couple and it was a real pleasure to know them. I would definitely go back. We shared some great conversations with John and Charlotte. They are a wealth of information.
We liked everything!!!!
Great hospitality, Charlotte and John are so friendly and welcoming owners, the terrace was a good place to sit and relax while listening to the birds...the 19 year old cat was very cude and faithful, breakfast with selfmade muffins and whole wheat bread was very tasty. We would really recommend this place!
No TV in rooms, but for us no issue. Nothing to complain!
The friendly and personable service from the owners, Charlotte and John
Very friendly welcoming and helpful owners
Very good. John and Charlotte are very nice. We have a big room and restroom. Breakfast is very health and delicious.
We felt like home. Everything was perfect - including breakfast. Our hosts were amazing with very good advices.
Kind and friendly hosts John and Charlotte. Neat and clean room. Healthy and tasty breakfast. Quiet location. Lovely kitty. Everything
The owners were very kind and caring and took care of all my needs. John was very helpful in giving directions to attractions. I enjoyed talking with them at breakfast.
No TV in room.
We enjoyed how they both greeted us when we pulled in. They showed us our room, gave us our tour. Great time at breakfast the next day with them and the other couple that was there too. Always making sure you had any questions answered. Helping you make your plans for the day.
The Holmes are great people. Friendly and welcoming.
I like the location and breakfast. You can sit in the porch and listen to coqui frogs at night. The room is big and is perfect size for a family of three with an extra twin bed. The owner makes delicious muffins, banana/pumpkin/berry flavor.
I wish they could make beds and provide shampoo and conditioner.
The hosts were informative and exceptionally friendly
Breakfast was very sparse
Sooo fantastic and nice people, the Holmes. Loved staying, wished to stay longer.
The owners were a lovely welcoming couple.
The bathroom was a little small
Holmes Sweet Home Bed and Breakfast was a great place to stay. John and Charlotte are very friendly and had a lot of information about the area and things to do. The room was spacious, clean, private and had every thing we needed. Plus the breakfast was great.
Very warm welcome.John and Charlotte were very friendly and made a good effort to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was excellent (wonderful muffins).Free and private car park. It felt like we were at home. We will definitely stay here again, the next time we come to Hilo.
I will come back as soon as i am back on the Island! :-) Extremly friendly. Very nice neighbourhood.
WLAN was very slow, but that is not relevant for me as i am on holiday! :-) There was a fast LAN cabel but this would not fit into my smartphone. ;-)
Charlotte and John were very kind, friendly and knowledgeable. They had many resources and books available to us. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast every morning with warm homemade muffins. We enjoyed a nice feeling of home.
very friendly atmosphere; magnificent rural surrounding; ideal location for exploring most of Big Island;
My son regard Charlotte as his grandma. She is so kind and warm-hearted. I love this warm and peaceful house. Lots of people from world wide experienced this sweet home. The memory will be forever.
It was like being at home.
