Room was brand new, clean, and quiet. Across the street from train made commute to Manhatten easy.
Parking cost and availability.
Big suites Clean New
The hotel is way too close to the railroad tracks, so the noise is very noticeable and disturbing Breakfast room is very crowded
Everything was mostly great: the room was very comfortable, clean, spacious and well-equipped, location near subway was convenient, staff was nice, hotel services were good and Wi-Fi worked relatively well. Breakfast was plentiful.
Even though breakfast was adequate, the quality of food could've been better (microwave omelettes and ultra-sweet yoghurt weren't our exact favorite foods). The subway can be really noisy (and it runs all night), so if your room happens to be on that side of the hotel, be prepared for some discomfort. The double beds only had one duvet and there were no extra ones in the room.
Brand new clean modern style hotel, very large rooms. Good breakfasts and very friendly and professional staff. Location is 100 meters from 39th Ave subway station and 2 stops (10 minutes) from mid town Manhattan.
Sleeping on subway side takes a bit of getting used to
It's one block from Subway line Q or N; Good small market near from Hotel; New!!
Very good shower, perfect cleanliness, good bed and very confortable room. Kitchen with a los of appliances.
We went to the breakfast area one hour before closing and we had to make a huge line to grab our tray and pick some things. The way is organized makes the line go very slow (we waited 20-25 minutes).
Hotel is quite new so it was very clean and comfortable, very nice rooms! Location is perfect if you can't afford Manhattan prices, subway station is two minutes away, you can see it from the Hotel. Subway ride to Times Square takes about 10 minutes only. Complimentary breakfast was very good, there were plenty enough choices to start your day with. Free wi-fi, two guest computers, laundry room and gym, there is everything you need! Staff is very nice too, I will defenetily stay here again when visiting New York!
I liked everything! :)
all new, very clean, good breakfast (with fresh fruit, waffles, donuts, eggs), large rooms with kitchen, very nice atmosphere, 10 minutes to Manhattan by metro, very comfi mattress, excellent shower, fluffy large towels, extra blanket if you're cold, wifi works very well, staff: if depends whom you talk to and what you need :) reception and check-in are great, breakfast staff is great, attentive, cleaning as well, very professional. One of the doors in the shower was broken, we told staff (the lady with the long brown hair, management?) and it was promptly fixed. Really great.
Staff: We had at first a room with a connecting door and the tv in the next room could be heard very well, though it wasn't even loud (no sleep). When we asked to be switched to another room the same evening, staff a reception (a man) told us he would check and call back in couple of minutes. After 15 minutes no call so I went to reception to be told that he had just called (my husband who stayed in the room denied this) and that he really couldn't do anything and to ask the day staff the next day. We did and after some discussion with reception (well, it is early and rooms are not ready yet etc.) were then switched without a problem (again thanks to the woman who I think might be part of management). So it is really great as long as you don't have "room problems" :). The metro can be heard in the rooms facing it, as well as the corner rooms (but I doubt there are truly quiet rooms in new york city...). Area: the area is being developed. The hotel and three others around it and the streets in between are clean and safe, the metros station and sometimes people hanging around close to it, felt less so. However, we mostly walked around during daytime and it was all ok.
large, comfortable rooms with everything you need, good location, near 2 metro stations, good service, pleasant positive staff, recommend, will stay again. Lara
The spacious and well maintained rooms, excellent value for money especially in New York!
The location around had very little options for a meal,so surprised that a hotel two stops fr Lexington ave could be so bare. We went around this by having a meal in Manhattan before we returned.
Fronr desk people
Everything was just perfect, I wish I could live there
If it was $200 and under, i think this place would constantly be sold out.
We stayed here for ten nights to watch two broadway shows, do shopping, and walking around New York before boarding a cruise ship at Brooklyn Cruise terminal. We determined to walk as much as we could. So we began a day by crossing Queensboro bridge on foot but returned by Metro that the 39th Ave station is nearby because we were exhausted. Breakfast is excellent and coffee and tea are always available. We never needed to use in-room coffee maker. The queen studio has enough room for two of us. The every staff is friendly and willing to help us.
At the check-in I requested to pay the cost for stay by cash but was told to settle at check-out time. Then I was asked to give my credit card for holding for the incidental cost, which I did. At the check-out time, we were told the hotel had charged the total cost to my creidt card on the day of check-in. Now we had to think of the monthly closing time of the credit card. Although we were told that the hotel could refund to the credit card and I could pay in cash instead, we decided not to do so because it was an international transaction. Even if the hotel refunded the same amount in US$, when it is credited to my account I would lose about $6 per $100 through the credit card company. I booked to this hotel in March before it opened the door. The price was so attractive I could not miss. But now it is comparative to other hotels nearby. I know this is not the fault of the hotel but some hotel clients have made some stains and scratches on carpet and furniture.
Location, facilities and staff were all excellent for the price. However, as I booked this hotel before it opened my accommodation cost half the price now charged. This hotel may no longer be competitive with hotels in Manhattan if that is where you wish to spend most time.
the breakfast should be more various.
Brand new hotel, located 100 meters away from a subway with excellent connections to anywhere in Manhattan, 7 stations for Time Square for instance. Even when returning late we never felt unsafe. Going back to the quietness of Queens after one day in island´s rush is appreciable, too! Rooms are like studios with a real kitchenette, clean, nicely arranged with all amenities you could expect. Breakfast is excellent and relatively complete, with waffles self-service! Finally staff is friendly and service-oriented. I recommend this smart alternative to overpriced hotels in Manhattan!
Rooms should have a safe and I would change location of microwave oven in breakfast area that would avoid waiting for nothing behind smart people not knowing how to use them to warm-up their sandwiches :-)
This hotel was very nice & had great facilities. The staff were also very friendly & helpful.
The breakfast was nice but the set up caused a lot of congestion at peak times. I waited in line for 30 minutes just to get to the servery.
Our studio was quite big, very cosy and comfortable. We would like to highlight the bed and the bed linen that made us sleep like babies every night. The breakfast was good and it was what we thought we would find in US (waffles, muesli, bagels, juices, etc.). The staff was always nice and helpful. We would definitely stay again at Home 2 suites.
The location is not central but it only took 15min by subway to reach 5th Avenue or Times Square.
Everything was just perfect and entire staff very nice and extremely helpfull with everything.
Friendly and very clean
Everything. It was like a furnished studio apartment.
Overall a very good 12-night stay. The hotel is brand new and comfortable, good beds, bathroom, sofas, etc. Even though it's located in Queens, you get to be at just one block from the Subway (39 Av Station), and no more than 15-20 minutes from Central Park and Times Square.
The room was not ready at 15:00 (their own check-in time). Cleaning was not the best. We had to call over minor cleaning issues a couple of times, and they were solved. You wouldn't expect this in a Hilton brand hotel.
10 mins subway to NYC. the price is attractive for the location. the room was fresh, big, and new. Business center is nice if you didn't bring your own computer.
the noise, because it is right next to the subway, so you can hear the train stop and go sounds all the time. the breakfast is like a war-zone. people don't know how to stay in the line for food. it takes a long time to get food during rush hour.
All of the staff were very friendly & helpful and we were allowed check in even though we got there 3 hours early. The location isn't pretty but it's safe, and the hotel is conveniently 1 minute walk from the subway station, where you can catch a train directly into Manhattan. Breakfast gets very busy coming up to 9 o'clock. There's a bar across the road that also serves food and a diner on the corner in case you miss breakfast! The rooms were spotless. They have blackout blinds and the beds were very comfortable. There is a little bit of noise from the nearby subway trains but I didn't find that it prevented me getting a good nights' sleep. If you're travelling in a group, you can request adjoining rooms with connecting doors. Definitely highly recommended.
I would have preferred that there be a kettle in the room rather than a coffee maker but that's just a small gripe because there is 24 hour availability to get free tea & coffee in the lobby and you can take it to go if you wish.
