Nice grounds. Crater was unique and fun to soak in.
Room was old and smelly. We had to open the windows to air it out. Carpet is worn and needs to be replaced
Loved the atmosphere and the look of the resort, loved the cottages.
Bathrooms really need updated. Stairs to the cottages need repaired & painted. Out side pool & hot tub great, but could use some work.
family pool and springs- the grounds are gorgeous very safe and beautiful
air conditioning was a let down and mattresses were just ok
Staff was very courteous and helpful when my schedule required a slightly later checkout time. The bed was very comfortable and the setting was unique.
Over-priced if a customer is not interested in all the activities. I would rather have had a complimentary breakfast and a microwave and fridge.
The beauty of the area.
Poor cell phone connectivity
The view and area was amazing and just beautiful.
quick service, private room, pool, crater
Front desk clerk very nice. Room clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy. Liked the pools. Grounds were beautiful.
Restaurant service was very slow. No Wi-Fi in our room. I didn't have cell phone coverage or text ability either. Bermuda triangle of signal.
Wi-Fi did not work, the bathroom area was not very clean. Hair all over in the tub and the bathroom counter had dead nats all over it.
Decorating was nice.
I was put in the wrong room on the first day. Upon arriving at the room, I called the front desk. I called 3 times, and the phone just rang and rang. The heat was not working and it took an hour and a half for someone to come and fix it. The next morning I went to the desk to ask to be put in the correct room, they could not help me because their system wasn't up yet. I was finally put in the correct room, it was not clean. I did not go to the pool, but my 12 year old boys told me it run down.
I appreciated that even though check in was not until 4 they let us in our room an hour earlier.
Payed way to much. Rude employees
The crater was amazing.
Had not been to the Homestead before. Probably better in the summer. Would love to see the leaves out and flowers etc. We will return. Just not the best experience for the first time. Too cold etc.
Heater in room set, came back two hours later and was still cold. Called maintenance who replaced something. Also figured out later that there was a window in the bay that did not close (up and down) it would not latch. On the cold side all night. Called customer service number several times with no answer. Wanted to ask about internet password. Unable to connect. never got answered. also showed up for breakfast around 9am (had till 9:30) pickings were slim. No pastries, one bagel, juice gone etc.
Ambiance of the area is wonderful. The continental breakfast was also very nice.
Condos needed some maintenance attention. TV and hair dryers didn't work.
Location. The facility is right next to the geothermally heated "crater" that is a must-visit attraction in the area. The pool, hot tub and workout room were pluses and quite presentable.
The hotel is functional but that's about it. The rooms are dated and need renovation. If I visit the area again, I would stay at the Zermatt. It is less than a 1/4 mile down the road and is well-manicured and much newer. It will set you back more per night but it looks like it would be worth it, especially for parties of 4 because it has 1-bedroom suites.
they were remolding the Homestead & they moved us to the Zermont at the same price & treated us great
