Room had a slight odor upon walking in that we got used to. Smelled like someone cooked in the room and it never came out (like fish, maybe?). Also we hung the towels to reuse them, and the housekeeping kept replacing them with fresh towels. So much for the 'conservation' sign. (The towels on the floor are to be replaced, the towels hanging up are to be kept...fyi)
It was close to the convention center, (Waverly and Galleria area) but I would not walk it, as it requires crossing a very busy and under construction road. The hotel offers a free shuttle to a location within a 5 mile radius, but luckily we had a car and did not need the shuttle. The hotel offers a free breakfast, but we didn't wake up in time for it during our stay. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows caused my partner to have some trouble, as they were way too soft and required layering. (My advice, bring your own pillow). The room was pretty clean, there was a bit of oreo left on the floor from the last occupant that was under a chair, and it was a little dusty inside the closet. No bugs. This is good for people NOT walking to the con, who want a separate sitting area from the room/bed.
