The complimentary meals were great.

Room 108 had a noisy and defective heating system. Temperature would not remain consistent. Other than that, would have received 5 star rating.

It is clean but the room service kinda slow

We stayed at the Homewood Suites at the Oakland Waterfront while attending Oakland Athletics baseball games at the O.Co Coliseum. I love the convenient location near the ballpark and Jack London Square with all the great restaurants and shopping. I like the breakfast area and the breakfast. Well done, many nice selections, nice seating area, optional patio seating...just the best. The view rooms in this hotel have world class views. Beautiful views of water - marina - city lights - landscaped grounds. So relaxing! This is a lovely property, well kept, in a great neighborhood and surroundings...I Love this hotel. It is my "home away from home" when I visit Oakland. Go A's!!

The front desk crew could be more attentive. I have stayed before, and it always seems that I am intruding on their more-important duties elsewhere when I go to the front desk. The front desk of a hotel is no place to be cool. It's ok to be an "eager beaver"...your co-workers may ridicule you but the guests will love it. Also...and this is pretty big...there are no newspapers available to purchase in the little store in the lobby. What??! I know that we are living in a new iPad and Cable News Channel world, but on Sunday mornings I like to read an actual print newspaper while I drink my coffee and eat my bagel. The sports pages!! Come on guys...have mercy. It probably seems small to you, but it's huge. World-class hotels have newspapers for their guests. I don't mind paying.

the view from the waterside was beautiful. the room was very comfortable and spacious and the bed was very nice. breakfast was more than adequate

I think the highway side would have been much less desirable. Also, the sound insulation seemed a little less than adequate as we could clearly hear our neighbor talking on the phone

The kitchen in our room was very convenient.

The bed was uncomfortable. It was supposed to be a queen, but was more like a full sized bed than a queen. The air conditioner was not easy to operate.
