Free wi-fi, kitchenette, great view of the city, friendly staff
Peeling, dated wallpaper in room, damages throughout the room (though it was clean)
Location and breakfast.
Sofa bed uncomfortable, we had to put our daughter to live in the main bed with us. There was a cold air coming from the bathroom that was maintaining the room cold, and gave me a sore throat.
The breakfast was exceptional.
Parking is expensive and not validated by hotel.
Clean spacious rooms Complimentary breakfast and weekdays dinner Tea corner 24/7
wonderful breakfast and dinners. The staff were very helpful and super friendly.
The location is superb; right next to the red line station at Grand and short walk to many points of interest. Breakfast is very good and plentiful. Room was comfortable and had a pretty decent view of the Wrigley building and Trump Tower.
Having to re-log in to he wifi every day seems to be an annoying nuisance. No fan in the bathroom and the bathroom door did not close properly. (Rm 1417).
The front desk staff was very helpful & nice
The furniture in the living area could be upgraded they were not very comfortable & made a horrible squeeking noise
Close to shopping. Had a kitchen.
Room was dirty, even found a dirty sock that was left behind the nightstand. They took my credit card for "incidentals" and ended up charging my entire stay. The pool had strands of hair all over the floor. The bathroom was dirty as well. The concierge wasn't very friendly, and all of the staff looked unhappy, although they were pleasant. We stayed here a few years ago and it seems is has gone downhill as it wasn't as nice as I remembered. Wouldn't stay here again because there are nicer hotels in Chicago that aren't as expensive.
The staff at Homewood Suites were very attentive, informative, and always handy if you had a question or needed direction. The location worked great for us. The pool was nice & clean--and had a great view. The hotel was very clean, and housekeeping was responsive to our need of additional supplies. Washer was also handy since we had come from a beach on Lake MI, and needed to wash out our swim suits! Breakfast was so convenient--it was also nice not to have to spend money on one MORE meal!
Pull out sofa was not in optimal condition. You could really feel the springs in the mattress. This was a comment made by my 11 yo son--who chooses to sleep on the FLOOR in order to avoid sharing a bed with his slightly younger brother. I figured if this was bothering him, it must have been uncomfortable. The only other thing that bothered me was our inability to tell if the extra blankets were clean (always questionable), but they looked like they could have used a run through the washer. I'm curious why hotels don't package blankets in some kind of shrink-wrapped plastic to let guests know they are freshly laundered...?
Across the street from Nordstrom and walking distance to shopping and eating.
Valet parking was $55 a nite.
Great location on a relatively quiet street. Liked being able to take car out without penalty. Close to Eataly - bonus!
No cots - sofa bed not too comfy.
Location Room size Breakfast
Check in staff not the most informative
complimentary dinner and drinks in the evenings ... lovely touch !
I would prefer outdoor (rooftop) swimming pool for some sun bathing. .... We don't get much sun in Ireland !
Location, kindness and willingness of the personnel to help with any problem, great rooms, good breakfast, nice swimming pool with a great view, wifi in the room.
We stayed for a week and the only problems we experienced was "occasionally" slow wifi access, and not being able to enjoy the free diners because of timing, all the rest was perfect.
Poor choice and quality breakfast for this category of hotel
the location staff was friendly
Had to lift toilet seat to shut bathroom door no hooks in outer bathroom area, only one mirror in the whole place no bathmat first day bed spread was a mattress pad free breakfast was the absolute worst that I have experienced too expensive
The bacon was horrible but everything else was great!
Good location. Reasonable value. Excellent valet parking attendant!
Only two elevators, one of which did not work. Long, long wait times to move between floors. Eggs and sausages were cold on the breakfast buffet.
breakfast and managers reception
Location, staff. It was all you could ask for.
Location, cleanliness of hotel, room beddings, breakfast buffet
Parking fees (hey, it's downtown Chicago)
The location was wonderful--attractive, convenient, lots to do close by. The staff was lovely. The breakfast was generous (didn't sample the dinner). The room/suite was spacious and well equipped. Really no complaints!
Just a slight quibble that the furnishings could be "refreshed" somewhat and the sofa and side chairs could have throw pillows, since the cushions were somewhat saggy. Not something they can change--but the arrangement of the bathroom isn't great with no door to close off the vanity area from the bedroom. Noisy if someone is still in bed when someone else is drying their hair or brushing their teeth. Pretty minor, though. Overall, I was very happy with our stay at Homewood Suites.
furniture was not comfortable.
We had a great time here for Valentine's Day. The breakfast was great...we really enjoyed the mini make-em-yourself waffles and chilled juices. Coffee was very good. Rooms were comfy, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Additionally, we went up to the rooftop (indoor) pool late, and had it all to ourselves. The city view was spectacular!
It was crowded in the breakfast room. For booked weekends like that, it may be a good idea to open up another conference room.
The staff was great. The room had everything we needed. It was nice to have a microwave and a fridge. It even had a dishwasher and a stove. It was within walking distance of everything. I would stay again.
Rooms need to be upgraded.
