Bathroom light was "iffy" in function. Switch for bedroom
lights hard to find initially, especially in dark upon arrival.
(It's not right inside the door, or right inside the divider to main
sleeping area as one would expect), Front desk needs to advise guests on
arrival of quirky room-numbering system ~ I.E., 317 vs. 317-2. I spent 3
minutes trying to get into 317 with my key-card, finally discovering
there was a 317-2 (mine); hope I didn't disturb another guest!
Breakfast bacon & sausage patties were tasty, but oozing with fat,
not very appealing. Eggs had no seasoning in them ~ only discovered that
salt and pepper were in shakers on tables, when I was almost finished
eating . . . another guest, who couldn't find any either, later
brought them over to me where I was sitting in large chair by fireplace,
'cuz we'd been talking about this. . . I'd looked all over
the serving & condiment area, could not find any!! These two things
minimized the value of the "free breakfast included", and
kinda made me wish I'd gone out to eat. I never received an
itemized, totaled invoice from hilton's front desk . . . they said
that booking.com would email it, but they didn't either: only the
$79.00 price of room before taxes and fee(s). And there was an
additional charge on my bank account which was not authorized or
stated/anticipated anywhere. I will be taking this up at a higher
level when I can find the time....
Really attractive accommodations, nice Great Room with fire in
fireplace. Quiet on New Year's Eve, which I wanted.
Good/comprehensive amenities for base price ~ although I hardly
used them ~ wanting only a place to sleep before hitting the road
again. I will definitely seek out Hilton Homewood Suites in other
locations from now on.
