Horizon by the Sea Inn  

We just loved it!! The owners are lovely people who made us feel very welcome. The rooms and the grounds were spotless. My four grown daughters and I spent a long weekend here and one of our favorite things was the beautifully manicured garden and the glider swing that we sat on and chatted away in the evenings after returning from dinner. Thank you Roma and John :)

The hotel has a great location. The staff is very friendly. Roma, the manager/owner, is such a lovely person. I had a great time there. I stayed in room 115, which has a very comfortable bed! It has a refrigerator and a safety deposit box, even though it´s an old model, and you have to put 50 cents in it to lock. I will definetly stay there every time I am in Ft Lauderdale and I keep recommending the hotel to all my friends!

I missed having a hair dryer in the room. Other than that, I have absolutely nothing to complain!

I had such a wonderful experience at this hotel! The managers are so friendly and helpful. My room was so clean and beautiful. The hotel grounds are gorgeous with a pool in which I could relax in. I was able to walk to the beach, where I spent most of my evenings watching the sunset. This hotel is so close to many restaurants and shops. I can't wait for my next vacation at Horizon By The Sea Inn!

The place was very clean. John and Roma were very friendly and helpful .Very close to the beach Bars and restaurants .Just a great place to stay.a little on the older side but very nice .

They stated we would have gotten a better rate if we'd contacted them directly, also the oven did not work and we had to buy our own toilet paper.

It was clean comfortable and reasonably priced.

The location was ideal. 1 1/2 short blocks to the beach and within walking distance of restaurants, Walgreen's and many shops. The room was clean and bright. My daughter and I loved that we could open the windows and let in fresh air. The refrigerator was a good size, larger than the ones you get in chain hotels. John & Roma, the owners were always around to make sure everything was ok. We loved the comfy feel of the grounds with the glider swing, fountain, palm trees and numerous table & chairs placed around the property. We would definitely go back!

Room did not have a blow dryer so we had to go out and buy one. But my daughter needed a new one, so this wasn't a big deal for us. But, it might be for some, so bring yours from home. No tissues were provided in the room, but the Dollar Tree is just down the street.

As a female solo traveler I felt very safe in the hotel. The owners were very accommodating and the location is very good with convenience stores, and restaurants within walking distance.The hotel is an older hotel but kept immaculate, which was my main concern. Good value for the money in high season. Would definitely stay again

My family stays at the horizon Inn every year. It is always clean and comfortable. Roma and John make you feel very welcome.

Very relaxing,one block to the beach...lovely tropical grounds with many beautiful seating areas to enjoy. The pool and lounge area was very refreshing and relaxing. The owner's were very accommodating and pride of ownership is obvious. We will definitely stay again.

A very clean and quiet 1950s style motel close to the ocean but far enough away to avoid salt spray. Beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. A ceiling fan above the bed is nice. Close to restaurants, Walgreens, and other stores.

we thought the location was excellent only a very short walk to the beach, restaurants,shops and 7/11 store. The tourist information is next door and the bus stop is right outside. lovely couple own the hotel and there is a nice pool.

The room was very clean. The staff was excellent! Very homey feeling. The location was awesome! 2 blocks from beach and 1 block from stores, bar, restaurants, and shopping. and free fast, free WiFi!

Wonderful, cozy little place one block from the beach. I could not believe how clean the inn was both inside and out. I can't wait to be able to go back and stay longer.

Great location , clean room, wonderful pool, parking front of building ,nice people (owners)..... What you need more for your vacation? I'll come back again and again in Florida and "Horizon by the Sea" Inn is unique place where I 'll be stay!!!

John & Rona manage The Horizon Inn, at Lauderdale By The Sea ,They treat their guests with the utmost respect, care and concern. This is my second stay there, Chantel the cleaning girl keeps the rooms immaculate. This motel is not only reasonally priced, it is family oriented, close to the beach and Town Center.

Nothing.

This tiny hotel is a hidden gem. Its a very simple, clean, and friendly place. It may not have all of the amenities you are used to but it has a nice common area to relax in, a small pool to enjoy, a very nice and friendly staff who make you feel important, and its barely two and a half blocks from the sand. Its a good price for a solid worry free place to stay. Its also 2 blocks away from the "city center" of the Lauderdale by the sea community area with nice restaurants and shops. We were very pleasantly surprised and would stay again.

If you are looking for a motel which is in a great location (150m) from the beach and 250m from the local restaurants and a reasonable rate then consider this place. Nothing pretentious and the owner keeps a mega clean property which is serviced daily, has comfortable rooms and the pool area is excellent. I can highly recommend this. Nothing was too much trouble and the nearby eateries were great. 10/10.

We loved staying at Horizon by the Sea Inn! John was very welcoming when we arrived and had our nice room all ready for us. The Inn is just a block from some of the best snorkeling in the US, so it is nice not to have to look for a parking spot to hit the beach... just walk across the road and you are in the water. Also, there is a nice 711 a short walk as well, and that is perfect for grabbing a quick snack or beer without driving. We will definitely stay there again!

John, is a hands-on owner. We admire his work ethic and like the way he keeps the grounds and the pool.

The bathroom is a bit inconvenient as the sink is very small and low. One has to bend way down to wash up so that water doesn't go all over the place. There is no place to put things at the sink. Our air conditioner did not work well the first night as it seemed to freeze up and the refrigerator worked too well as it froze our water and fruit. We could not adjust it to a lower temperature.
