We had to change rooms because of the street noise. The second room was a little quieter but both rooms were dark and needed updating. The bathrooms were poorly lit and made it difficult to apply makeup. The wifi was free but it was very slow.
Lobby was nice and the restaurant had good food and was well priced.
-hotel is across from nightclub and some rooms face the street that the club is on. The club asks their patrons to keep the noise level down, but you can hear people on the street sometimes. The club is only open Fri and Sat, so you don't have to deal with noise most nights. If you happen to be there when the club is open, all you have to do is turn on some ambient noise (fan, white noise app on phone). That being said... the gaslamp district is pretty wild, so if you expect to stay in the district, you might experience such noise just about anywhere.
-staff was great -rooms were comfy- historic beautiful wooden furniture -beautiful courtyard -couldn't ask for better location- close to conference center and gaslamp
Internet was very weak.
Rooms not sufficiently sound-proof; too much noise from guests overhead_ too much early morning noise from trash pick-ups. Hotel is only four stories high! Old, Vintage Style
Close proximity to convention center and major conference hotels.
Bathroom although clean enough needs repair. Bed is way too soft.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Upgraded us to a suite when they saw we had a baby to accommodate a playpen. Great location. history of the hotel is neat.
No fitness facility
Older more traditional hotel
The noise outside was too high.
The gas lamp quarter, very cult and many bars and restaurants
So loud!! there was a club just on the other street and there was loud music from 0 to 5 am.
Staff, location, room
Hearing people walk and talk in the room above us.
History of hotel, friendly very helpful staff. Clean hotel and rooms
Noise, noise, noise. my room was located on the 4th floor above an alley. the drunks hung out in the alley and it was also used as a loading zone at 5:30-6:00 a.m. daily.
The hotel is located close amenities such as public transportation, restaurants, and shopping. Also, the hotel was extremely helpful with making getting around to various points of interest.
The noise from the event going on. The old bathrooms with a shower curtain. These need updating. Shower head so low bought they were made for dwarfs.
Location was perfect. We could walk everywhere so didn't need a car. Rooms were very comfortable but note that you need to ask for a quiet room if you don't like noise. Manager kindly moved us so kudos to them for caring.
The restaurant had a nice ambience but food just ok.
Location ideal for Gas Lamp, Little Italy, Seaside Village. Room with balcony had loads of comfort and charm. Enjoyed the historical feel.
The check in staff was a little rude
The room was great but plumbing had a lot to be desired. Shower backed up
This place is adorable! It felt very welcoming and the decor was great. Valet option downtown is a must. The in-room fireplaces are a great touch.
That we had to leave so soon:(
We were upgraded to a king room with a balcony, which had a great view of downtown, the location is very convenient, it is a great price for a comfortable room!!
The staff had dirty looks towards my guest and I. I am in my mid 30s paid decent money for one night. Over 400 dollars! plus the parking.
Heart of downtown, could walk to CC Nice restaurant and bar with nice wait people and the decor was very nice
Very noisy room near staircase above the bar. Unhelpful reception staff.
My only negative would be the bathroom. Lighting not sufficient for someone trying to put on makeup; also, style of sink gave no place to put any objects on (i.e., makeup, curling iron, etc.).
Really nice charming hotel. Staff was wonderful, rooms were clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
I didn't like the extras charged on my bill. We got charged a refrigerator tax when we didn't have one in our room.
The location was great. Everything within walking distance.
Wifi not available in Room 324 Noise from the bar on Saturday night
