The staff had dirty looks towards my guest and I. I am in my mid 30s paid decent money for one night. Over 400 dollars! plus the parking.
Heart of downtown, could walk to CC Nice restaurant and bar with nice wait people and the decor was very nice
Very noisy room near staircase above the bar. Unhelpful reception staff.
Really nice charming hotel. Staff was wonderful, rooms were clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
My only negative would be the bathroom. Lighting not sufficient for someone trying to put on makeup; also, style of sink gave no place to put any objects on (i.e., makeup, curling iron, etc.).
The location was great. Everything within walking distance.
I didn't like the extras charged on my bill. We got charged a refrigerator tax when we didn't have one in our room.
Wifi not available in Room 324 Noise from the bar on Saturday night
The hotel is located in the Gaslamp area within easy walking distance of MANY bars, clubs, shopping and lots of great restaurants. We will definitely be staying there again.
Great location in Downtown San Diego with lots of history. Nice ambiance!
Parking was a bit expensive.
Our second time back, love this hotel!! So romantic! The food at restaurant is excellent and the bar was classy with great service!
Location was great
The to talk for 2 rooms was $380...after 3 days AMEX still held $247....hotel charged us left and right for the total of $626.50...
Wi-fi not available in the room, breakfast not included, easy to hear the neighbours, valet receptionist lying about the availability of public self-parking.
Charming and beautiful with lots of interesting features; beautiful courtyard, very attractive hallways and stairways (usually hotel interiors beyond the lobby are bland or depressing). Wonderful staff, great value, quiet, clean.
Breakfast food was okay - not exceptional. Our room was quiet on courtyard side but our family members' room was on the street side and it was noisy on Saturday night (quiet on Sunday though).
Building and decor was charming, full of character, unlike so many of the generic chain hotels. Central location, close to restaurants, bars, shopping. Loved having a fireplace in my room! That was an extra touch that I enjoyed.
Came back to the room at 4 pm, and was shocked to find that housekeeping had not yet cleaned up my room!! Had to call and ask them to do so asap.
Clean and cute.
Room was to close to the bar area and I was not able to sleep well with the noise. I should have been warned at check in about the rooms next to the bar area being noisy .
This hotel had the most amazing balcony in room 223, on the 2nd floor and smack dab in the middle of Gaslamp District. I stayed Saturday and Sunday nights, Saturday was so much fun watching everyone around the restaurants and nightclub. It was a bit loud but after 2:30 am it was very, very quiet into late morning. Sunday was quiet all night. It's a really amazing hotel and will DEFINITELY stay in this hotel again. Get a balcony room, it's worth it.
Charming hotel, very centrally located to the Gaslamp area. Lovely bar for quiet drinks and lots of good restaurants close by.
Historic character of hotel and appointments. Moderate size. Comfortable room.
Not enough staff at front desk to timely respond to questions. Parts of hotel under moderate renovation.
Place is clean. We like it.
Parking is so expensive at $30.00
Love the room and decor. Very convenient location in Gas Lamp.
Parking valet was $30 a night.
Hotel felt like a bed a breakfast. It was charming and cozy. Very we'll located in the Gaslamp area. Staff was very personable, warm and welcoming. Rooms had a European feel while having modern conveniences.
Quiet, clean and interesting spot in downtown with access to the area by walking.
Wi-Fi was not working as some equipment issue they said. They were apologetic but offered nothing else to accommodate.
I liked the old deco, it was pretty cool. Staff were really helpful and location was great.
