The owner was very friendly and outgoing. Great location
Checkin took awhile after a long journey.
Having a bed to sleep in
Found moody food in dresser
Staff very nice
wifi did not work.
It was hard to find in the evening. The room was not so tidy and thats not good for the price. The wifi was good but in the evening we Had a power blackout. Breakfast was nothing special.
The people there was really friendly. Washing Maschine
The bunk bed was not so comfortable.
Bath room is not clean
Stuffs are friendly
It was a scary looking place, the room was not at all as represented on the web site. Was supposed to have a bathroom. Which I don't believe it did. Once they showed us the room I was like "no way am I staying here". We had planned to leave most of our luggage in the car. That wouldn't have been an option after seeing the neighborhood. We had no place to stay the night but my husband and I decided we would rather spend the night in the rental car than stay there. They charged my credit card anyway,
Not too clean, wifi only in rooms near the kitchen, although the hostel has security cameras it isn't too safe (lock to our door fell apart), noisy, thin walls to neighbours
Price, Breakfast was ok (also booking.com didn't tell me that there would be one), laundry room
A bit hard to find, not in the nicest neighbourhood, limited breakfast.
Got upgraded to "honeymoon room", good parking, Chinese restaurant next door, nice owners/staff.
we book room with private bath but it was a room and bath in that small room
Saggy bed, stained sheets, roosters next door, very loud Asian restaurant below, my window had no curtain so people could look into my room, they put stuff against the walls to cover up holes and stains, everything was really scummy looking and very different than online photos. It wasn't worth the $100 for the night and it is also in a sketchy area of town so wandering around at night is limited. I've stayed in a lot of hostels around the world and for a 1st world country this is one of the worst places I've stayed in. I'm not a picky person but this place just felt gross. Feel free to see for yourself though and create your own bias.
A miserable poorly maintained place without any facilities
They worked with us regarding our really late arrival.
Everything. Overall bad experience.
Nothing. Staff unhelpful and unfriendly, if they are even around. Facilities disgusting. Bad location with nothing around. Tried to charge me for nights I wasn't there because I didn't want to stay at their facility.
As we have never stayed in a hostel before so it is hard to give a non- judgemental opinion. The cost was almost as much as we had paid for a 5 ✴ hotel in Alberta the night before. As it was in a rather poor part of the city, it was hard to feel secure with a door that would have been easily compromised.
The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Breakfast was simple but not very sanitizing because staff did not clean up afterwards causing ants scattering all over the place. Our room also had ants and staff accused me of having food in the room, which was a lie. This is a poorly managed business. Staff are either young kids or family members who are not very good at accomodating travelers. Wifi was not working properly and staff refused to believe it initially and responded by saying "I don't usually work here." Staff was not in available when they said they would be even though the office door has the OPEN light on. Rundown building with horrible spund proof and some not very considerate customers. If you have a family DO NOT come close to this place.
The price was the cheapest but you get what you pay for in Maui.
The room was so small, no door for the bathroom, sometimes no hot water. The room was not very clean and the personel wasn t here for the check-out.
Poor breakfast, dirty and small kitchen, needs an improvement.
We got a free upgrade, laundry, good wifi
We arrived on a kona day, and room could have used a little fan. Bring one. First time we ever stayed at a hostel, so we did not know to *ask* for water glass, washcloth, soap. Most hostel guests carry their own.
It was extremely clean. I loved the staff. Wonderful people. I also recommend King's Chinese restaurant that occupies the front of the building.
We have difficulties with finding the hostel as it is hidden in a yard and there were no directions on the street (or we did not see them). The bed was really uncomfortable, it was sooo soft that you were sleeping in a hole!!! Also, you hear everything from the street - we could not sleep because we heard dustmen, roosters... The room was quite expensive so we expected more than unclean shower, room without windows and very uncomfy bed. Try camping in Hawaii - you get more comfort for better price!
We liked the staff, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. Also, wifi was working both in the rooms and on the yard.
Me and my boyfriend were there for three days, the couple who's in charge of the place if very friendly they showed us everything very warm welcome and good people, we felt safe and in good hands! They were very accommodate when we asked questions they were there to help us to know more about Maui and the highlights. Also there's a washing machine and a dryer we can use, room with TV and DVD and wifi works very good! We really loved our nights there. I recommend it for sure.
We asked to change the room because it was awful and we had to add more money. The queen room was better than the other one but anyway really dirty, unconfortable, small and full of bugs and mosquitos. The common area (kitchen) was horrible and bugs everywhere.. We staied for 4 nights (just because the reservation was not refundable) and we refused to use it bacause of the dirt. Fortunately we decided to stay out from 6 in the morning till 10 pm. I will never recommend this place to anyone.
The hostel is in the middle of the island, in a central location. The manager was nice instead of everything.
