Love this vintage hostel ~ near to the shopping mall, close to the restaurant.
But I suggest the hostel use some air fresher, it smells so bad. And have some hairs on the sheet before I live in this hostel
Awesome staff, pleasant atmosphere, one of the finest hostels I've ever been to.
Trolley station at 5 min walk Nice staff Quiet at night
Breakfast starts at 8 am, I left earlier
Room is so warm but fan is provided, so overall it was okay
best price and location.
too hot. bad wifi at room
The staff was sooo nice and helpfful! The location was EXCELENT, downtown. The price let me had more fun around :-)
Entrance (to rooms) needs some maintenance, but all the rest is good and charming.

Beds are uncomfortable It was too hot in the rooms

Is really close, helps alot to be at night life at comicon and to place the stuff you buy, so closer to my favorite bars and restaurants, people are nice, and willign to help. Had a great time i will come back again.
Location Staff Nice kitchen facilities Great grocery/supplies store near by (Ralph's) Uber taxis (look up the app) were everywhere and so much cheaper than a taxi plus much friendlier!
No early check in :-( And just being picky now but no toilet brushes in toilet so people couldn't clean it after using it....
This was a great hostel- quiet rooms, very friendly staff and reasonably clean facilities. Very accommodating and located right in center. I used the hotel to attend conference and it was wonderful
The Location was great, the staff was friendly, and the facilities were all very nice.
Parking was a bit of a hassle.
Good location - one block away from the famous Gaslamp district. Fair room rate. Friendly staff. Free baggage storage in the lobby. Choose this facility if location means everything for you.
First of all it's a hostel and you feel it in every small piece of this place. But this is a good hostel. Though the building is old with no sound proofing. It's a little dirty, but not that bad. The breakfast was a joke - you have to cook it yourself using their ingredients and reusablee dishes, then you have to wash after you. I'd also recommend to wash the dishes before eating, just in case.
The place they provided for everyone to use for entertainment, and web searching. The staff were nice and friendly.
It is often said that a place is judged by its people and it was never truer than with Hostel on 3rd. James and his affable staff made my stay extremely easy and enjoyable. I was staying for 5 days with a gap day in the middle when I travelled. I wanted to leave my large bag here and they were extremely accommodating and made it very easy for me. Would absolutely recommend to anyone traveling on a budget. And even if you're not on a budget, the place is certainly worth an experience due to the truly global people that come and live here.
The room was unclean. Only sheets were changed. The wi-fi doesn't work in our room.
The location was pretty much perfect, though Friday and Saturday night was still fairly loud outside, even though it was not on the most main street int eh Gaslamp.
There were only 3 bathrooms with showers and toilets available for the entire hostel. There was another set of toilets available, but you had to go outside to enter the lounge area to get to them. The quiet hours were not enforced and it was very loud in the room area until 3 am Friday and Saturday night.
James is my main man! Greatest host ever!
The bathrooms are very dirty. There were parts that are rusted. Odors to be eliminated last long. The entrance is not appropriate.
This is a decent hostel, very clean.
-Best price in town for a hostel (~$25 as of last month) -Convenient location to bars, clubs -Friendly staff, patrons
Not much free parking, but that's downtown for you. Maybe if there could be a parking validation for the nearby pay-to-park station that would definitely be a plus. Breakfast also ran out before I could get any during the allotted time.
the worm hospitality i got amazed me, i really appreciate thanks
