Score from 2 reviews Wonderful
Too hot in room during the night and couldn't open the window to let cooler air in. First night I was there, I awoke in the middle of the night to a guy banging on my inner door telling me to open it. When I asked why he told me cuz I had double locked the door from the inside, which I hadn't. Turns out another resident couldn't open the door with her key but the problem was with the door. Kind of scary to have to open the door in the middle of the night to a man yelling at me. He didn't even identity himself as a member of the staff. Fortunately never happened again!!
Activities: free or cheap, the staff is happy to make you explore Chicago. Breakfast: delightful, choice. Location: you can see the most famous city train while eating breakfast, most famous attractions are less than 30 minutes walk Rooms: big, very comfortable beds
Breakfast: it ends a little too early, at the end,no refill
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Secure entrance.
I would have liked one warm food option at the complimentary breakfast like scrambled eggs. Also my room was extremely warm with no way of changing the temperature.
Location and volunter helper
The location is very good. Breakfast is nice, staff is helpful, rooms are big.
The metro is right by the hotel so it can be really noisy at times.
This was the very first Hostel I ever stayed in Did not know what to expect. Was quite and comfortable.
Breakfast was a bit late in the morning nothing for anyone who had to leave early like me. Had a train to catch. Could not even find coffee where they said it would be.
Staffs are super nice and the bed is comfortable. Room is large.
It is right beside the railway and it is very noisy, I did sleep well for the whole night because of the train...
too warm on the top bunk
Clean and in a great location to walk down Michigan Ave, or toward Soldier Field. Facilities were spotless and even though the room slept 12, the size didn't make you feel as though you were tripping over people to get in and out. Second visit and would definitely recommend.
Those on the top bunk may find it difficult to charge their phone etc and have access to it at night. Otherwise no complaints.
Kudos to the friendliness of the staff. They were awesome!
Uncomfortable beds, and pillows :( Too hot in the room too. Loud and noisy next door neighbors who broke the curfew. I had to call the front desk to have someone come up and shut down their after midnight party.
The hostel is located right downtown, easy access to the trains and all the major attractions.
Wifi is really bad for reception in the dorm rooms.
The staff service is good. These friendly guys can help the travelers much and nearly fit the life demand.
Noisy when you sleep at night.
Good location, Clean and Safety. I will use this hostel every time staying in Chicago.
Wifi connection was sometimes bad.
[PT] Eu adorei a localização, a higiene do local, o café da manhã era bom e as camas que tinha bons colchões e eram firmes (no outro hostel que fiquei elas balançavam quando alguém subia na cama de baixo). [EN] I loved the location, the hygiene of the place, the breakfast was good, and we had good beds and mattresses were firm (Before I was in another hostel and there the beds swinging when someone sitting on the bottom bunk).
[EN] The socket/plug location in the rooms was on the side of the bottom bunk, not at the head or feet of the bed or just close (which would facilitate the access of two people), then to charge a cell phone I had to ask for the person who was sleeping at the bottom bunk (if choose the down bed, you are lucky!). And I don't know why, but I was unable to access internet from my laptop after the first day, from the second day and forward I could only connect from the cell phone.
Rooms and common areas are very spacious. Clean and modern, everything worked well. Great location too, close to the museums :-)
1) The room in which I was was really cold, and the thermostat could not be adjusted. I suspect this is meant to save electricity but it was very uncomfortable at some point. 2) One night one of my roommates switched on the light at something like 2:00 am, waking up everyone. The hostel can't do much about such things obviously, but I noticed later that management had posted near the elevators flyers requesting people not to do such things. Perhaps one of these flyers should be more prominently displayed, by the front desk perhaps?
Everything was great! Location was the best thing - it was so convenient to transport, food, shops and activities. Especially love all the little extras they do like holding your luggage, having hot dog nights and free tours of the city. Highly recommended!
Location and the room is great!
Poor wifi connect.
people (staff, other travellers)
The location, continental breakfast, cleanliness
Affordable Bed was super comfy Free Wifi Check in was simple Free lockers for use after checking out Good for solo travelers Safe environment with multiple security locks
Room had some trash in it when I first came in Noisy train More of a hotel kind of environment
Its is right where you need to be and walking distance from almost everything
The location was excellent for what I had come in town for. The staff was very professional and nice. I stayed in the 8 dorm room beds were comfortable roommates were nice. Bathrooms/showers were clean never had to wait. Over all I first didn't know if this was going to be a good decision about staying here but I glade I did.
No TVs in the bedrooms but they did have a TV room.
We had a private room which felt more like a hotel then a hostel, the facilities were awesome, staff were awesome and the location was perfect! right in the downtown loop for the subway and close to food, pubs and parks! Best place I've stayed at in America
Wifi could be better
close to subway blue line and grant park the starting point of Chicago Marathon. Breakfast is good with various beverage options. Receiption is 24 hrs and staffs are very friendly and helpful. Coffee and tea at 2nd floor cafeteria. Well equiped kitchen for those who want to cook their own meals. comfortable bed. walking distance to target, book store, art institute and navy pier(well, maybe a bit far for you, I enjoyed the walk in a nice sunny day).
The location and facilities, as well as the value for money rate.
Not that I didn't like, but, definitely, most of the Staff of the hotel is not costumer oriented. I noticed that since the moment I first called from my country, requiring information. Some were great, though.
