-If you are used to a hotel experience, it may take some getting used to. Think of this as a college dorm experience and you will be fine.
-If you are a light sleeper, the CTA trains will definitely keep you up at night. As Floridians, it reminded my daughter and I of a heavy thunderstorm. It didn't really bother us.. The front desk offers earplugs
-The thermostat was located in one room in the suite, causing some very cool temperatures based on the suite mate in the controlling room. The front desk was very helpful in adjusting the temperature so that we would not turn into Popsicles.
-Overall, the hostel was clean, however, I suggest bringing shower shoes and an extra towel as some hair lingers in the bathroom between daily cleanings and during our stay, the hotel had a towel shortage and we had to wait until towels were available.
Hey everybody!!! This is your girl, Charlene with Singlemamatravelista!!!! My daughter and I had an enjoyable stay for our first experience with a Hostel. My Yea's are below:
- The price cannot be beat. We stayed in a private room for 2 nights for a total of 248.12 in a great, safe location in the Chicago area near local transportation and main attractions.
- The private room included a full sized comfortable bed and a bunk twin with identical comfort. The room is large, has a closet area, desk and chair and an iron and board. Suites are equipped with full sized kitchen, sitting area and shared bathroom between connecting suites. 4 rooms share a suite, 8 rooms share bathrooms(one male, one female) There are bathrooms in the hall if needed. (We didn't)
-Safety is great. Floor entry requires a key and we as women never felt unsafe
-Breakfast was great. Fresh fruit, cereals, breads, oatmeal, cheeses, yogurts, juice, muffins and all the toppings.
-The hostel has a wonderful common area on floor two with ping pong, pool and many activities, free tours and events depending on the day you stay. The city views are fantastic from both the common area and the room. We enjoyed the welcome party ( Free soft drinks, wine, beer and popcorn) and getting to meet people from all over the world.
-Staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the attention we received when requesting directions and/or needs for the hotel.
