It's really close to shopping area and restuarant.
The rooms are not cleaned daily and the bedsheets are not changed frequently. This may encourage out break of disease.

Everything else was great accept WiFi
- Location. You DO need to be in downtown area for easy access to any loop stations. Not as noisy as I thought in the evening. At worst you can hear the loop train from afar, but this was OK. - Separate shower room, 2 sinks, and toilet room. Prevent roommates to fight for bathroom time. - Reading light for each bed. - Large in-room locker for each guest, can fit a cabin-sized luggage. - Large and cozy Common Room at the 2nd Floor. - Breakfast inclusive. - Elevator (although a bit slow).
- Came in the morning to drop luggage only (I knew check-in time is 3pm), but the Asian concierge lady let me checked-in early for free. I was happy until I saw the lower bed assigned to me was with someone's belongings on it. I thought perhaps the current guest hasn't checked out yet. I dropped the luggage in the room and told the situation to the concierge. She promised to have my bed ready by the time I got back in the evening. Except, nothing changed. Roommates then said someone IS using my bed (I didn't meet this person) bcoz she wasn't assigned a bed, so she randomly picked one. I asked the evening concierge Michael to find another room. I got it, except I had to changed the sheet myself bcoz housekeeping hadn't had the time to do so after prev guest recently left. What a day. - Poor WiFi connection. Not stable.
The location is great. I like this kitchen. I am lucky this time. My roommates are courteous to each other.
Perfect location to mccormick place in the sense that itis just one bus ride away. Cvs is just around the corner of it and a resto is beside it. It has a lift, common eating area that has fridge, microwave and utensils.
Linen that was given didnt appear newly laundered coz it has a hair on it so i requested it to be changed. T he price given didnt include the taxes so i was surprised when i was going to pay coz chicago tax was just too high. I think they shld. Include in the fine prints how much was their tax just like in most quotes.
Helpful staff on first night, advised of great blues bar with a complimentary cover charge waiver. Dorms were great with lockers and separate toilet, shower, sink. Location exceptional with a bicycle rental rack just around the corner. I would say a bicycle is the best way around this beautiful city. There was a complimentary breakfast which was actually quite incredibly good and healthy. Nice people to talk to at breakfast.
There is an elevated train causing some minor noise just outside but I see it as a plus. You soon get used to the subtle rumble and it faces the full wall of windows in the cafeteria - giving a true view of a iconic characteristic of Chicago.
Too hot in room during the night and couldn't open the window to let cooler air in. First night I was there, I awoke in the middle of the night to a guy banging on my inner door telling me to open it. When I asked why he told me cuz I had double locked the door from the inside, which I hadn't. Turns out another resident couldn't open the door with her key but the problem was with the door. Kind of scary to have to open the door in the middle of the night to a man yelling at me. He didn't even identity himself as a member of the staff. Fortunately never happened again!!
Activities: free or cheap, the staff is happy to make you explore Chicago. Breakfast: delightful, choice. Location: you can see the most famous city train while eating breakfast, most famous attractions are less than 30 minutes walk Rooms: big, very comfortable beds
Breakfast: it ends a little too early, at the end,no refill
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Secure entrance.
I would have liked one warm food option at the complimentary breakfast like scrambled eggs. Also my room was extremely warm with no way of changing the temperature.
Location and volunter helper
The location is very good. Breakfast is nice, staff is helpful, rooms are big.
The metro is right by the hotel so it can be really noisy at times.
This was the very first Hostel I ever stayed in Did not know what to expect. Was quite and comfortable.
Breakfast was a bit late in the morning nothing for anyone who had to leave early like me. Had a train to catch. Could not even find coffee where they said it would be.
Staffs are super nice and the bed is comfortable. Room is large.
It is right beside the railway and it is very noisy, I did sleep well for the whole night because of the train...
too warm on the top bunk
Clean and in a great location to walk down Michigan Ave, or toward Soldier Field. Facilities were spotless and even though the room slept 12, the size didn't make you feel as though you were tripping over people to get in and out. Second visit and would definitely recommend.
Those on the top bunk may find it difficult to charge their phone etc and have access to it at night. Otherwise no complaints.
Kudos to the friendliness of the staff. They were awesome!
Uncomfortable beds, and pillows :( Too hot in the room too. Loud and noisy next door neighbors who broke the curfew. I had to call the front desk to have someone come up and shut down their after midnight party.
The hostel is located right downtown, easy access to the trains and all the major attractions.
Wifi is really bad for reception in the dorm rooms.
The staff service is good. These friendly guys can help the travelers much and nearly fit the life demand.
Noisy when you sleep at night.
Good location, Clean and Safety. I will use this hostel every time staying in Chicago.
Wifi connection was sometimes bad.
[PT] Eu adorei a localização, a higiene do local, o café da manhã era bom e as camas que tinha bons colchões e eram firmes (no outro hostel que fiquei elas balançavam quando alguém subia na cama de baixo). [EN] I loved the location, the hygiene of the place, the breakfast was good, and we had good beds and mattresses were firm (Before I was in another hostel and there the beds swinging when someone sitting on the bottom bunk).
[EN] The socket/plug location in the rooms was on the side of the bottom bunk, not at the head or feet of the bed or just close (which would facilitate the access of two people), then to charge a cell phone I had to ask for the person who was sleeping at the bottom bunk (if choose the down bed, you are lucky!). And I don't know why, but I was unable to access internet from my laptop after the first day, from the second day and forward I could only connect from the cell phone.
Rooms and common areas are very spacious. Clean and modern, everything worked well. Great location too, close to the museums :-)
1) The room in which I was was really cold, and the thermostat could not be adjusted. I suspect this is meant to save electricity but it was very uncomfortable at some point. 2) One night one of my roommates switched on the light at something like 2:00 am, waking up everyone. The hostel can't do much about such things obviously, but I noticed later that management had posted near the elevators flyers requesting people not to do such things. Perhaps one of these flyers should be more prominently displayed, by the front desk perhaps?
Everything was great! Location was the best thing - it was so convenient to transport, food, shops and activities. Especially love all the little extras they do like holding your luggage, having hot dog nights and free tours of the city. Highly recommended!
