The location is just the best it could be in Gaslamp Quarter. The staff is always helpfull and polite. I've forgotten my ipad in my room and they've helped me out sending it to the airport for me! Great people!
Construction going on, so could not sleep past 8am
Very friendly staff and nice ambience. Comfortable and clean.
Breakfast and dinner activities should be more publicized.
Outsider street noise
Nice staff, nice facilities, does exactly what it says on the tin but nicely!
Considerable noises from outside till 1-2 A.M., probably because of a huge number of visitors for a meeting held at the convention center.
Walking distance from the convention center.
Surly attendant at check in, room stunk of sewer gas, dingy room, cheap bedding. It was like moving into a public restroom.
location was convenient to convention center
We stayed in a double room with private bathroom. Room itself and facilities were fantastic however the noise from the surrounding night hotspots was deafening in the room so if you're a light sleeper perhaps pack your noise canceling headsets...
Location, friendly and helpful staff.
Showers were nerve wracking because people faced with a locked door would sometimes refuse to give up and yank it hard a few times. Clear curtains / screens make it so that you have little cover if they succeed. I would suggest implementing a lock based system for vacant/occupied like on airplanes to avoid awkward situations.
Great location, good (and clean!) amenities, approachable staff, interesting events, and friendly guests. It was my first stay at a hostel, and it was a pleasantly surprising experience. I met people of all ages and a wide array of nationalities.
Well no tv in the room. But still was good. We can leave without it.
Most of all. Close to everywhere. Specially from where I needed to be working. Great location.
The no alcohol policy
Brand new facilities, warm and generous staff, smiling and hard working cleaning ladies, super comfortable bed (I was in a double room), a kitchen nicer than at my own place, top location... All I can say is "wow". Dont hésitate to book this hostel.
Comfortable rooms. Completely soundproof room where I was - couldn't even hear the roadworks going on outside one morning. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Located right in the centre of Gaslamp Quarter with easy access to everything. Would definitely stay here again!
Friendly staff....very helpful! A couple steps away from nightlife
My room is on top of the 5th street, which can be really noisy at night. But you can ask them ahead you prefer the quiet side if you wish so.
The location is perfect for those who like bars and restaurants. You can walk to the pier (or take the metro, which is few blocks down) and is also close to the san diego convention center.
they didn't write in the invitation that the payment is made on check-in.
i stayed in a double bed room with private bathroom. good place. nice and clean rooms. nice staff. great location, right in the middle of gaslamp district. just 10 minutes walk from the harbor. 5 minutes walk from the bus station or trolley station to all the places you can travel to.
It would have been nice to know that no alcohol was permitted on the premises. It would have saved us the trouble of checking our bottle of wine and then claiming it later but that was the only minor inconvenience.
Love the close proximity to see and explore downtown San Diego. The staff was very helpful and made great suggestions. I was impressed by the kitchen and the size of this hostal.
I liked the fact that everybody was open minded, it was easy to make some connections And speak with others
The employe that helped us in the front desk. Her name was Maury. I work with customer service as well and to be honest I felt treated poorly When we first arrived she didn't let us in. We told her we made reservations and gave one of the girls I came with attitude. It took forever to get into our rooms.
The only thing I liked was the hallways. They looked cleaned and fun
No sockets near the beds
front desk was very helpful.
Sheets could have been cleaner
Better than most of the hostels, great location(next to all the bars and clubs), you can easily walk to the beach
The staff where amazing
The location is in the heart of downtown. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. There was a window air conditioner in my room and a (weak) blow dryer in the bathroom. Each bathroom was a one person facility so you have privacy. There was a large flat screen tv and a couch but more importantly for me there were two free computers for public use and free wifi. Plus they give you sheets and towels for no extra charge. I did not eat there so I can't vouch for the food. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous. They helped me with directions around town. It is an adequate lodging given the very low price point.
Really bad bed had me getting neckaches for the duration of my stay
great location within the gaslamp quarter.Great base for most excursions.
