They organize something to do almost every day, and they have special offers to the trips in la. The location 5 minutes to the beach, 10 minutes to Santa Monica Pier, and 2 minutes to the most important street in Santa Monica (by foot).

One person of the staff. The rest is ok. If is cloudy, you don't have anything to do except shopping, and la is one hour in bus far.

The bed was comfy. It was a cool atmosphere. Breakfast was good.

The internet was absolutely appalling - it barely worked and when it did was incredibly slow. Two girls in my room were given the same bed assignment so there was a big mix-up about where people were. There weren't enough powerpoint sockets - eight people and four sockets. The showers were horrible - no door, just a shower curtain and it was difficult to get changed behind the shower curtain as there was nowhere to put your clothes without them getting wet.

The location of this hostel is great to access LAX airport - easily and super-cheaply. Just take Santa Monica Blue Bus no.3 for 1$ (or SMBB Rapid3 for 2$) and that's it. Wow. No need for expensive shuttle buses. Free breakfast. Despite being on low-carb diet I appreciated a lot very good selection of foods. Cream cheese (good for me), yogurt, all kinds of bread, jams, juice.... The staff at reception was helpful and well working. When I was forced to leave earlier due to occurring problems, they were very helpful, my check-out was absolutely trouble-free, and my refund was immediately processed.

I need a wi-fi connection anywhere I go. When booking this hostel I was told there IS a wi-fi. However, when I arrived there I was told at reception there is a wifi just on the 1st and the 2nd floor. My room was at the 4th floor! Well..I got pretty upset coz this wasn't fair and honest at all. The room was average, with a carpet (which is hard to clean) and somewhat smelly (I think due to the carpet and wooden beds). Just the next day when I was in the kitchen in order to put some food to the fridge I saw a HUGE cockroach lying on the floor in adjacent dining hall. It was alive, lying on its back. It was a size of my fist, I swear. I reported to the cleaner who was cleaning the floor 2 meters from it to kill it. (and then I moved away from there). Anyway, after several days a friend of mine who stayed there told me about the same problem. A huge cockroach in the kitchen. I guess the location is good just for sunbathers as there is nothing else to do. Far from anything and such a boring place!! Just the beach, bars, restaurants, cars and posh boutiques. Plus roaches. Never again, never.

Location is excellent, one block from the beach and one block from third street shops and cinemas.

Individual lights for beds would be good.

I got biten by bedbugs for two nights, that was really bad and that made my trip very uncomfortable !

The staff were able to check me into my room early, and there were no time restrictions for coming and going. The staff was very helpful. The location is great and the price absolutely cannot be beat.

It is a hostel - i.e. shared dorm rooms - so don't expect much privacy. Lockers were available but locks were not issued with bed rental. You had to bring your own or buy one.

The staff look down on you(except for the cleaning staff) They somehow think they are doing you a big favor for letting you stay there. Somebody must have told them they are working at the RITZ.Except of course for the salary differences. If you want to be mistreated by the receptionists this is you place!

5 stars to the staff for their friendliness, helpfulness and always at their post when you need them. 5 stars for location 5 stars for the facilities Well done!

There is no control over the quiet time rule. I suggest better signage in the corridors and in the rooms. There is no control on how people keep their places tidy. I suggest people are warned to keep their space tidy and if they don't listen throw them out. The wifi is slow because there is no control on what people can do at which times of the day. I suggest restrictions during certain times of the day so that the speed improves. If people want to stream video etc let them do it at 3am in the morning.

GReat location, helpful staff, good infrastructures, clean room and facilities make it the best place where to stay in santa monica. Good value for money
