Score from 1977 reviews Very good
Didn't like that they wanted to charge me 25 dollars for a fold out bed when I already paid 250 dollars for the night
Excellent location. Just off Broadway. 10 min walk to Times Square, 2 min walk to Empire State and Maceys. Very friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again :)
Breakfast was a little crowded but it's free so can't complain.
Location was great, close to shopping and 34 / 35 street subway stops, not far from Time Square - 2 subway stops
Lift is small and slow, can be a problem if you have a lot of bags. Breakfast got progressively limited during our stay.
The location was excellent, within walking distance of great shopping, theatres, Time Square, the Empire State and loads of places to eat. The Subway was just at the end of the block making getting around the rest of NY easy (once you work out the subway system!). The staff were awesome, always very helpful to us 1st time vistors to NY. Breakfast was great and our room was very comfortable. My one word of advice if you decide to stay here is avoid the rooms at the front of the hotel as the street noise is very loud and goes all night. To the hotels credit, when I mentioned this they offered us another quieter room
The location is just great! Empire state building, metro station, Macy's - 3 minutes walk. The room is not big but enough for two. The breakfast is basic: omlette, eggs, toasts, bagels, coffee/juice/tea. Overall this is a right choice if you prefer value for money.
The heating is hardly regulated. In one of the rooms there were a lot of hairs in the bathroom. But to be fair in the next one the bathroom was clean.
A new favorite in the Big Apple. Staff was polite.
No concierge to help with things like restaurant reservations.
Breakfast was good selection although we heard others complain about the disposable plates and cutlery we didn't mind it was a good start to the day.
Close to elevator and 11 stories up.
The temperature in room way to hot
Perfect location for exploring new york, lovely irish bars opposite hotel and good choice of food and the bar and grill located next to the hotel. Breakfast there was lots of choice and a beautiful building lots of character.
Poor shower, very small no tea and coffee making facilities.
Not a grand facility, but excellent location and value for your dollar when compared to the other hotels. Cute room (a bit tight for 2 double beds) but I was in NYC for the scenes and not needing a huge room.
Elevator was tiny and hard to leave with bags so we wound up using the stairs. The doorway to the bathroom had a small step which my son kept forgetting about, so just a small hazard.
location, bed and wifi
size of the room, long time waiting for hot water on the shower, the staff (except for Vitor who was always very nice)
The location is central for everything across the road from Macy's,Victoria Secret and one block from Empire State. Also right in the middle between downtown and uptown. We did find a great bistro called Harold's on Greeley square also had an evening meal at the hotel Metro opposite which was very good . Wish we stayed there
The hotel was in need of a update, the beds were small and uncomfortable. The fan on the outside of our bedroom window was so noisy it kept you awake would go off every 15 minutes. The breakfast was ok but everything was plastic and it was hard to eat with them cut or spread your butter on toast or bagels
Great location, love the fact breakfast is included in the price.
Lifts are small & have to wait a long time at busy periods for them. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room or hotel. The bathroom is very tiny!
Close to affordable restaurants and easy walk to major sites
Unable to control heat in room since it was radiator used AC to cool room
Too hot, could not adjust the temperature
It was really well located very close to all the site we wanted to visit. The hotel was very grand in its appearance and tastefully decorated.
I found the room a bit small especially the bathroom. Also we had to turn the a/c in cause it was too hot in the room.
the location, breakfast included, friendly staff, comfortable bed
the heat, it was too hot in my room, i couldn't turn the heat down. noise from outside but it is NYC.
Convenience - very close to Penn Station
Room was really tiny and the radiator was working on double time. Could not adjust the heat.
Location Staff Size of Room
The room and the complimentary breakfast!
Water pressure is very poor, elevators slow.
1. Location, Location!!! 2. The beds were comfortable which is a big deal for me specially if you are out sight seeing all day. 3. The convenient subway line down the block.
Old plumbing and cannot control water temperature.
This hotel was conveniently located to many sites. My young kids and I did a last minute trip to NYC and chose Hotel 35. It was perfect for what we needed. The staff was very accommodating. It was clean and we would return again.
The Hotel was very nice, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was good and the rooms were cozy.
It took 20 min for the hot water to heat up in the shower, the toilet ran all night, when we complained at the front desk they just apologized .
