The room we booked was for a queen bed. The only room with a queen smelled so strong of beach we started to feel ill. The only room that was an alternate was one with 2 double beds. We switched and that room was ok. But know reduction in rate or other compensation for their action.
The breakfast was marginal at the very best. Any worse and it would have been inedible
Excellent hotel/motel in every way., in a friendly town well situated to visit Yosemite (via a drive of just over an hour or by bus). Good to get to either El Portal or Mariposa Grove entrances to Yosemite. Very good, fresh breakfast, and comfortable well equipped rooms.
Wifi a little slow.
SPA AND SWIMMING POOL ARE GREAT
Reasonably close to Yosemite. Good beds and good breakfast.
The carpet was old and dirty and needed to be replaced with a new one.
The hotel is located more or less in the center of Mariposa but also just around the corner from the road to Yosemite Park (which is the reason to arrive there at all). The room was big, the bed was very good and the staff were very nice and happy to help.
If you happen to be staying on the second floor, take note that there's no elevetor and if you have heavy laggege it can be a bit hard dragging it 3 flights of stairs. I saw there is a way to second floor thru the pool. Ask the staff to help you go from there is the room is on the second floor.
The location is the only thing that was good about the hotel.
The airconditioner was exceptionally loud. We had to put in earplugs to be able to sleep at night. Sleeping without the airconditioner on wasn't an option because it was very hot when we were there. Breakfast wasn't good either. Plastic plates, knives, cups etc. Plastic sausage, plastic egg and plastic pancakes. Sorry guys, this was a total waste of our money.
Fabulous location on the edge of Yosemite National Park. Mariposa is a smallish sleepy town but hotel staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. Lovely clean room with 2 queen beds and an en suite. We had the pool to ourselves which was great after a long, hot bus ride. Great buffet breakfast included in the price. Close to the bus stop for the YARTS bus to Yosemite.
A very good lovely hotel in a charming friendly town
I don't like being conned, Yosemite Valley is nearly two hours away by bus or 1 1/2 hours by car
This location is a block up from the main well-traveled road through town, and so provided for a quieter atmosphere compared to other nearby motels. Rooms were very clean, bed very firm but not horrible. The hot breakfast was not high quality, but it was good with plenty of variety and friendly staff keeping it stocked.
No complaints at all. Wish the price were cheaper, but the area is VERY expensive due to its proximity to Yosemite.
Charming hotel, great location for a visit to Yosemite. Breakfast was okay. Wifi reception was good. We loved the heated spa pool!!
Double bed was too narrow for us, but luckily the spacious room had two doubles so that worked out well...
-quiet location, not on main street -enough parking lots -everything in town within walking distance
- nothing wrong with that motel
Location was fine - Mariposa is a cute town - we were passing through to Yosemite.
The rooms need updating. Our bathroom wasn't as clean as we expect, the shower head is too low, and the tub needs to be resurfaced or replaced. It looked very dirty on first glance but then it seemed more like it's just too old. I was reluctant to use it.
It was close to Yosemite. WiFi was good.
We had to drag our suitcases up flights of stairs. The room had two double beds and no room for our bags, they ended up shoved up beside the beds. The TV was too large for the unit it was on and was overhanging and partially blocking the bathroom door. The coffee maker was on the counter top in the bathroom. The air con wasn't cooling the room properly. The stairs outside were concrete and you could hear everyone coming and going. When checking out the lady asked if we had been to Yosemite and when I said we had a day there she told me you can't see it in a day and you need to hike and do all the other things. She gave me a good five minute lecture about why I hadn't spent enough time there (I had been in a bus accident in LA and was unable to climb their stairs properly let alone hike Yosemite). Breakfast finished too early. My partner went to have breakfast and every other guest in the hotel was there at the same time as it finished by 9.00am.
Attractive property, in a good location close to the heart of town - but not right on the noisy main road. Comfortable beds, spacious room; nice pool area.
No laundry facilities, & no elevator. For the rate we paid for the room, in this class of hotel there'd normally be laundry facilities at least.
We would stay there if on the area again. It was pleasant.
Everything was good
Friendly staff with dinner recommendations at check in.Clean, comfortable room. Nice pool area.
Would have liked fresh fruit options at breakfast.
Good staff, nice and comfortable. Great bed and pillows
Fridge and Microwave would be great but still a great hotel for the cost
Wouldn't give triple A rate Remote for tv would not work replaced batteries. No help. NO GYM! Staff could not mske 2 room keys that worked at the same time. Pool was FRIGID!
The two sons at the front desk were extremely helpful and very friendly. They really did make our stay enjoyable! We loved the choice of soft or firm pillows! Very rarely am I happy with pillows and this was a HUGE plus. The location was great! Within walking distance of town, as after riding the Harley all day we did NOT want to drive anywhere at that point
It was a little pricer than I was happy with. The hotel offered a 10% discount with AAA, however because we booked through booking.com we were unable to receive the discount
Okay breakfast Adequate pool
Airconditioning unbearably loud; Room too small for two queen beds, with one bed right into air conditioning; TV has limited channel availability; Wireless reception inadequate and poor
Comfort of the beds, friendliness of front desk staff, cleanliness.
Breakfast is only served from 6-9 am, so everyone crowds in the smallish room between 8 and 9. Not enough seating, no outside tables, lines for food, and the eggs and sausage were mediocre at best. It was a Sunday in August, so it was packed.
The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was filling. Didn't make it to the pool or spa area. Only about 40 min. drive into Yosemite if you leave by 6 am. Several local places to eat within walking distance.
Check in time wasn't until 4 pm.
